The bloke is a complete cock, i am ashamed to say i share his surname.  How a bloke like that gets to such a position i'll never know, why is it that the greatest game on earth has to be run by total and complete bell ends?  ???

Some of our fans want instant success mate, it aint gonna happen overnight and our board seems to be overun with kids at the moment without a brain cell between them  ;D Most of the fans understand that it will take time to achieve any kind of success
Thanks Cartman,
Just as I was tryin to explain to one of our fellas on here

maybe big Joe was tanked before kick off ;)

easy Joe ;D

Hello again westcoast, hope you are well my good man.

I hope you arent suggesting i expect success too quickly, i'm under no illusions as to what to expect from following sunderland, 19 years ive been watching them, and have learned not to expect owt.  I'm as excited about this season as i ever have been, i just hope we are good enough to compete, because we certainly werent last time around and are still paying the price for it now.

Onwards and upwards, hopefully!

Disagree JP, the atmosphere where I was sitting was great and I am pretty close to the SE corner and therefore the away fans. The North stand was quiet but both SE & SW corners were up for it. The Liverpool fans were fantastic to be fair, backed their team throughout and certainly added to the occasion.

I sit about 3 rows in front of houghton ref in the west stand, very near the swc and away fans, and the atmosphere was pants, we badly lack variation and any creativity in our songs.  It was like a morgue in the home end at times.  Liverpool by contrast had a huge array of songs and were loud throughout despite having their allocation ridiculously reduced.  Lets not dress it up like we are creating a cauldron of noise, because we definitely didnt.

Cheers mate, yeah it's been fab but the summer has gone so quickly, it doesn't seem 2 minutes since we were promoted last season.

I am relatively happy with our start so far, we played well against Tottenham and did ok against Liverpool but they were just too good for us. The atmosphere for the home games has been fantastic with big crowds, we had the 2nd biggest crowd of the day on Saturday, only Arsenal had more, not bad for a newly promoted side and Liverpool only brought 2000 fans.

The thing that bothered me over the summer was that we seem to struggle to attract the top players to Sunderland at the moment, that will hopefully change when we establish ourselves as a PL team.

I have not been on here much lately or the SMB to be honest as my laptop in broken and it is a pain in the arse to have to use the computer upstairs. Mostly just go on when I am at work now  :rotfl:

How have you been lately, do anything nice over the summer?

Cartman, you've gone mad, the atmosphere against liverpool was shite, we were outsung by 2000 scousers in our own ground.

Taken from my seat in the West Stand, towards the South West corner, the empty srats are the gap before the away fans start.  ;D

Apologies for the poor quality, taken from a shite moble, but the flag has been there every week for a while now, just thought you fellas would appreciate it.  ;)

Up the T&T boys!!!

Was over the moon with carlos edwards today, his workrate was second to none, and those who doubted the quality of his final ball were left in no doubt as to what he can do.  Today seemed like a turning point for us, everything seemed to be coming together, everyone pulling in the right direction.  Yes, i'm drunk, but very proud and very pleased of what i seen today.   :beermug: :beermug: :beermug:

Ha'way me bonny bonny bairns! ;D

1600 there today, many of the coaches had set off at midnight to get from sunderland to plymouth, which is the longest trip in domestic english football.  Proud of all of them, they wont even be back home yet, over 24 hours on the go following the lads.  Glad the players gave them the result they deserve.  ;D

Football / Leeds United - Dennis Wise not happy
« on: February 10, 2007, 11:49:12 AM »
Dirty Leeds, who currently sit at the bottom of the Championship despite winning today, are having a hard time of it.

Dennis Wise has found out that one of his players handed the team sheet to a crystal palace player 24 hours before the teams met today.  :o

Wise has said the unnamed player will never play for leeds again.

I bloody hate leeds.  ;D

Great win fuh Sunderland....most of the teams above them dropped two points due to ties, things looking very promising

we were the only team in the top 7 to win - great result for us!

a home game against southend coming up.... then a difficult run - birmingham, derby and west brom - three in a row

exaclty how many games left ??

14 games left mate, 46 games a season.  If only we had got some points in the first 5 games of the season!

Listened to the game today, Carlos sounded like he was giving Capaldi a hard time especially in the 2nd half.  Edwards' work rate is excellent, i've been really impressed by his attitude.

Stern John set one of the goals up as well.
