Football / Re: Spanish Midfielders
« on: October 02, 2007, 06:24:32 PM »
Arteta is a very good player but, has Arteta ever played for the Spanish National Team?....I ent think so. Someone confirm.

Fabregas by a mile.

Xavi and Ineista are excellent

Same reason I came on here to ask this question...I knew men would talk stats and national team.
Over the past 10-15 yrs how many great players get dog out by their national team for whatever reason (not callin Arteta great). I don't think it says that much in d big picture, thaz jus me. I respect everybody opinion though, but I stick to d view Fab 4 have a large hype machine behind him...from replacin Vieira and all that. Playin for Arsenal have it advantages, as opposed to Sociedad and Everton and Rangers in d eyes of a coach obviously. Only Riquelme at Villareal didnt get that fight down...and thaz after a while. Watchin an individual as opposed to d team they all close...but I think puttin all 3 at Arsenal (playin d 'Arsenal' way, ppl would call a man like Iniesta god IMHO).
As a side note it hilarious for men to quote Under 17 stats in any discussion...c'mon guys...u better than that. Watch games and analyse, anybody could go online and search for how much Inzaghi score in 96 or whaeva.

Lemme hear d views of d masses...and hopefully men who does watch ball real good.

Lemmeh see if ah get dis straight.  Allyuh arguin bout who would be 2nd choice right?  Because it eh really have no argument about who is #1...by a clear distance too.

Well to some it straightforward, not to me. Was a lil argument under some fifa talkin bout fantasy and all tha rah-rah. For me Fabregas 3rd on that list with a straight face, as a coach lookin for a man to run my midfield "it eh close, by a clear distance too...d space between 2nd and 3rd".
I not talkin bout name or recognition and especially in d case of 'dcs' possibly d worst thing to do is quote stats . I look at the influence of Arteta on a team (when he there and when he not), you could build a team around him in d same was as Riquelme. I believe if you put Iniesta on a smaller team, say Arsenal (jus a joke ppl...doh start postin like mad), he'd be a true general, top 15 player with goals from midfield in way of Scholes in he prime or Kaka now.
Fab 4 a man in a rich vein of form right now, very good player. However, in no shape or form I think he a general u know, d chef to put everything together, more a special ingredient in d pot...d 'golden ray' of sorts. Remind me a lot of Redondo, 'Pep' Guardiola, Xavi; vital to d team no doubt, but if u had a pick in a draft not the man u would center your team on.
Didn't really want to state my views which is y i try a poll, but whaeva. bless

It is true everyone has a "bad patch", but at d same time it important not to fall far behind d pacesetters. Couldn't really care much about what going on with d devil team though.
Trezegol in d 90th baby, d only thing that counts for now. bless

Wow this was a suprise to me...I know some of u say u saw it comin. As a Man Utd fan i'm actually sad to c d nemesis go, especially with d game comin on Sunday (would have like him to go after that to say is we make him go).

As to who should replace him at Chelsea I offer to u blues d honourable Sir Lippi. A boss of all bosses and not as rigid as Capello. As for where Mourinho should go next I don't want to c him at either Real or Barca...too much politics. I'd like him to replace Mancini at Inter and do what he did at Chelsea, turn them into winners, make them respectable.

I think Mourinho a top 5 coach (in d world i mean), and he will be missed. Was lookin forward to the banter in d press between him and sir alex this week...aw well...

Wow! Just saw the highlights of the game from last night (somebody buy that guy a  :beermug: ). That had to be the game of his life without a doubt, I hope he can keep playing at least half that level. Those goals will give his confidence a massive shot of adrenaline, I mean c'mon I neva even c d guy hit a free kick b4 (where d f**k tha come from).
I always ask ppl home how he does for the national and they say not too good, but from all d times I watch him here he really need a good run of games in d team b4 he is cast aside. I'm certain he will be d MLS player of the week or something...at least goal of the week.
Funny thing is that after a game like that the trini player of d week is Kenwyne...doubt it'll even get much ink in d papers home. bless

Now reach home after a week of pace, not wakin up till 10 minutes b4 this game start to brush teeth and eat. I been an Italy fan for like 15 years but after the world cup win i'm off that train for life. Lookin for a new team european team to back and France is one of the few that fit the criteria (have black players) so i'll b watchin closely to c if they worth my support.
Nelki in fine form along with Abidal and Malouda so hope the Italians have a counter for them. I'm tired, drunk and sleepy so here's a glass in d air wishin for a good game later....bless.

Plenty times u hear players who u know r good go somewhere and struggle. Even top top men sometimes, even though they makin big money or whatever such as Henry in Juve and Forlan in Man U. We wonder y but I guess its not all about money or whatever (and i know men not makin much at wrexham anyway).
So i think it great that Johnson will have his countryman there with him; we dont c Wrexham play but they said he didn't do too well so hopefully he have a 180 degree turn this season. bless

In many sports i've seen a huge number of guys label 'd next bes ting' or whateva over d years. Many end up in d Darius Miles, Ryan Leaf category; and others like Lebron and Peyton Manning live up to it. While d american media been quick to crown everybody like Landon and Adu king I honestly believe this youth have a great future. He might also might not become king but I c him having a long career in EPL. With that body and talent he jus gotta have a good work ethic to complete d matrix.

As a side note i give away my ticket for d game and stay home and watch it on tv...feelin real dumb about that right now.

Wenger sittin by idly while errbody else restock, how long he really feel d youth movement will last. As a Man U fan gettin talk from Arsenal men the past years I must say it will b sad to lose the banter as yall become less of a threat.
Speakin to my pops yesterday who live 10 mins away from d Emirates and inhaling the same fumes the rest of yall do, he think d team safe and will b surely top 2. I on d other hand takin note of what Mourinho say which is that Totenham is now one of d big 5 and what that means to me is one big team not makin Champions League, it kinda early but my pre-season vote is Arsenal.
Man U n Chelsea n maybe Liverpool have like 8 world class midfielders each so e-mail allyuh Wengeee and get in order. bless

Good to hear we back in our rightful place doin what we suppose to. Kinda weird still seein names like Treze and Del and Zalayeta, dem man ah foundation. That my only problem goin into the season, that of all men d 'tinkerman' himself sayin he not lookin to buy anybody else. I don't think Grygera and Salihamidzic is d type of men we should b bringin in but I guess he wanna give this team a try b4 he go around making changes so i'll support him for now. bless

524
Men talkin d coach should up d bid if he really want him, like if is addin a schilling to d price of a doubles. Try and realise d man already bid over 1.5 mil more than d club record so is not like he undervalue kenwyne. I like how he rate him though and I wouldnt mind seeing another trini in d prem whether is Man U or Derby. bless

Something tells me Real Salt Lake don't really mind lose Adu, I get the feelin he will surely leave b4 d window close. He really impressed in d world cup along wid Altidore, Szetela, d keepa (cyar remember his name) and finally Zizzo who I jus read has signed in Germany. It will be good for US game in the next 5 yrs if all these youngsters develop abroad (although as NY Red Bulls season ticket holder Altidore could stay a next 2 yrs selfishly). bless

HANOVER, Germany (AP) - Sal Zizzo, a U.S. under-20 midfielder, has signed a three-year contract with Hannover 96, the Bundesliga club said Wednesday.

Zizzo, who joined on a free transfer, played for UCLA and Orange County Blue Star.
Hannover finished 11th in the German first division last season.

It is truly disturbing to me that 2nd rate managers are so freely allowed to express themselves in such a public place. It is my belief that microphones should only be placed in front of the Fergies and Mourinhos of this world and I recommend that League 1 managers such as Fli! keep their thoughts to d local Village Gazzete or the school newspaper.
I don't know of his record in d Andre Samuel league but ppl like Firebrand have said only the best are in there so I brought a team to compete with said best. However, now i'm totally confused and I wonder if Fli! is allowed bcuz of his Warrior Nation affiliation or some other reason. This guy has proven to b no match in the past 5 yrs or so and in fact has not made a post in d forum for about 2 yrs now due to being severely dealt with, I feel like i've lost a bredrin due to  repeatedly cuttin his arse and it is as such I am IN SUPPORT of GRSKYWALKER bcuz I feel I have earned premiership status and should not have to rub shoulders with League 1 managers.
Thank You very much for listening to my opinions and i'm sure they will b considered.
                               Yours Respectfully 2cents, bless.

I must say d Joseph could definetely handle a Celtic grade if he was bought, however d player I wanna c go across was his padna in midfield last night...Ricardo Clark. They say he only 24 and he a terror jus like Joseph with more pace and more of a goal threat. Watch alot of MLS games over d yrs and a 2nd yr season ticket holder for Red Bulls so i've seen him plenty from time he was on Metros.
In terms or MLS players gettin buy from d bigger European teams I  feel they will more want youth...like maybe 22 and under and that hard cuz sometimes them young boys dont get sweat. I think Altidore might b d only one right now who have a decent chance so maybe next yr somebody come in for him...bless.

MLS ALL-STARS (3-5-2) Reis (Hartman 46); Parkhurst, Bornstein, Conrad; Toja, De Rosario (Gomez 65), Clark (Mastreoni 60), Joseph, O’Brien (Jones 80); Angel (Ching 65), Johnson (Donovan 65)

CELTIC (4-4-2) Boruc; Wilson, Pressley (Balde 73), McManus, Naylor; Hartley, S.Brown, Donati (Gravesen 68), Jarosik (McGeady 53); McDonald (Zurawski 66), Vennegoor of Hesselink (Miller 53)

« on: July 12, 2007, 11:36:54 PM »
Turning away from Jemmott a minute...as an Arimian I familiar with Devon Mitchell, he was a decent goalscorer. My question is about the next guy Akil Guevera...did he also play for Arima Snr Comp? The last yr b4 I leave Trini had a guy name Akil make Intercol all star team from Arima, I think that was his last name, use to play defensive midfield and remind me of Keane lil bit.
I find he had real talent...then like a yr later I saw him when I was assistant coach of a youth side and we play a team from Pinto I think, he had just come to watch and was lookin like ah reaaal spranger smokin weed on d sidelines and ting. I was tellin mih boys how that real sad cuz I find he was d best player in intercol that yr...so somebody plz tell me is d same guy I thinkin bout.
My bredrin Stephan who was on d same Arima team as Devon Mitchell and make intercol all star team too get kill awhile back, he jus lock off football after school and he is one ah d best ah ever c or play against. I don't know d Akil guy personally but would b good to know he make it this far now..gettin trial in foreign and ting. bless

Wow!!! Where have I been, I honestly didn't think ppl could talk about these things on a forum without the development of a shouting/cussin match. I been on a million other sites and when these things come up ppl make their opinion into fact and don't listen to others but it different here. I only start tha talk by accident but I like wey it reach.
Like dey does screen and make sure man have 5 passes b4 dey post on this site or someting (yes ah know ah eh spellin properly). To the person who talk about societal difference with stadium behaviour in England as opposed to Spain and Italy...u said it was just as bad in England back in the day...but I would ask u...lets go back say 50 yrs to 1957. Do u think ppl in England etc in 1957 did monkey chants as they do in Spain/Italy in 2007. I dont know eh...but i HIGHLY doubt it.
Also when I saw the Italians booing and screaming at the blacks it wasnt in Italy or anything...was right dey in Giants stadium about 3-4 yrs ago, so was ppl right here in America so I dont want to imagine what my ppl of the 'black diaspora' goin through over there. Ppl i passin everyday here in NY was  doin that, I was so shocked cuz i was sittin in d front row. When I turn around and watch these ppl hard in dey eye like ah badjohn dey jus watch me and continue. I'm a Juve fan and these ppl when the names were announced was like Del Piero - yeaaaaaaaaaaaaa, Nedved - yeaaaaaaa, Davids - booooooo. Jus my thoughts....bless

This one ah d best game ah c in a minute...at any level. Finally get a look at this Alexandre Pato guy I been hearin about for so long too....he showin flashes, ah could c y ppl talkin about him. He not the guy who catch my eye the most though, i'm likin Amaral on d right wing...remind me of when I 1st saw Cristiano Ronaldo.
Also saw a black guy for Spain, that was shockin for me, cuz I does fire down teams like Spain and dem for dey racism to black ppl. Thaz y I tryna stop support side like Italy and Argentina even though it hard cuz thaz teams I support since youth (and yes I know football should b about talent and nothin else but I does try to take time and think bout these tings). Went ah AC vs Juve game some yrs ago and d Italians was booin all d blacks...even on d teams dey support. I say after world cup las yr i lockin them off. Also sit down wid some South Americans and talk about how Argentines look upon ppl like Brazilians and such, on race lines. I stop back Brazil after world cup 94 cuz too much ppl had jump on d wagon and i went over to Argentina, but its back to Brazil now. bless

Not much to say that hasnt been said already...so not gonna talk about Argentina or Mexico. I wanna ask the Arsenal supporters something even though this not the post for that.
I askin this as a Man U fan but i think it make sense so hear me out...

reports say Real Madrid willing to pay 27 million for Fabregas, what would u say as an Arsenal fan to selling Fabregas for that 27 mil and gettin Riquelme for d 9 - 12 he would cost. Just sittin here thinkin about it, would definetely satisfy man like Gallas and add supreme class to d team, plus an xtra 15 million to beef up d team. Jus my thoughts...bless

babel is a very good player and young. hmmm....looks like we not getting quaresma but oh well babel just as dangerous.

Let's not go crazy now mih dupes...lot's of pace and he does score goals too, but don't stretch it. Quaresma is dungeon master 4 level, I eh think d Babeee could ramp with that as yet. He also not an out and out winger which is what Benitez claim he wanted anyway...he ah winger in d 'dutch' sense where they play 4-3-3 and is more one of d outside strikers than a classic winger. How that fit into the 4-4-2 Liverpool play is ah unknown at the moment so let's not rush to hail this signin. bless
