If the rumour mill is to be believed, and it rarely is, Mick McCarthy is making unlikely overtures to former Villa and Man United striker Dwight Yorke.

Now in the twilight of his career, the former hitman is now more likely to be found acting as a midfield anchor than a goal machine, and is keen to secure himself a long term deal not forthcomong from his current club Sunderland.

It's tricky to weigh this one up. It's so unlikely, it may just be true.

He isn't young, and it's debatable whether he's still hungry after his medal haul at United and his stint in Australia. There are also now suggestions Wolves are battling it out with Reading and Derby for Sunderland's Dwight Yorke.

they both have british accents and played on the historic Man united team that won the treble in "99 but that's where the similarities end .....Beckham is white and  English ...
