Saw the 2nd half - typical case of a team giving pretty much everything they have to chase the game, then having nothing left in the tank after - Happened to the U.S. men's team against Ghana in the last W.C.
France looked nice on the ball, but they are not a complete squad -very vulnerable at the back, and lacking overall horsepower...
The U.S. is very deceptive because individually they don't conduct it like ballers, but collectively they are very very fit, and extremely disciplined, and they don't give the opposition an inch in the defensive third unless yuh work for it...One-on-one they look very ordinary, but they back eachother up, and work very hard for eachother so they don't get too stretchd and they keep the silly mental errors to a minimum - in the women's game that's enough to grind out victories because the game is not yet at the point where you yet have complete ballin' squads with the full complement of skill, organization and athleticism...most teams still missing at least one of those qualities.
