This situation is just like in the states where there is standoff between a team oner and city officials. The team owner wants tax relief or "incentives" to build a new stadium, and the city council saying that they can't or would not meet those demands.

Remember Barbados gov't is not in a great position financially...

Running professional sports teams is not easy but the burden cant be on the gov't alone. who ever owns the franchise has to do more to attract sponsorships increase merchandise and food sales there is more to running a team than just streaching your hand out to the gov't.
