Agger and Skrtel for Southampton?  Or should we not risk Agger and bring back Toure.  Hmmm, forget about Sakho, who seems to be a very good passer out of the back.  We spoiled for choices at the center back position, all of a sudden.

And we file away Llori for the 'future'.  Can't remember what injury Skrtel carrying, but I'd play Agger for at least a half, just so that he stays fit.

Skrtel is fit.  I think Skrtel Agger should be the pairing right now, and Sakho should slot in as right full back.

We building slowly: one game at a time.  We did much better without Suarez than I thought we would have, in all honesty; although you could argue that the team resumed from where they left off second half of last season.  It's not a one-man team.

Not sure what the hell Rodgers was thinking starting 4 CBs today. Only served to emphasize the lack of punch going forward with no Coutinho.  And despite that we still end up conceding a soft set piece goal.

Last team I see do that was Argetina in the World Cup vs Germany: they get a beating.  CBs look vulnerable when they are isolated  on the wing, and they don't have that attacking impetus.  We lost link up play between defence and midfield too, because they are not as fluent on the ball as fullbacks.  Bad gamble.  Thank God Suarez is coming back, because Sturridge showing some greed too.

That has always been a problem for him in my eyes.  When he got opportunities with us, in moments where a pass made sense he always opted to shoot.

Suarez did the same all last season... in his case he didn't trust his teammates enough to pass to them.  Not sure if that's also the case with Sturridge.  We'll see how the partnership works out now that Sturridge is entrenched in his central role and Suarez deployed on the wings.

I can't see why Sturridge would have had that attitude when with us and even with allyuh team either.  Somehow I feel is more about wanting to be seen as a prolific striker so he feels he has to take every opportunity possible.  He have to trust he teamates an dem, is nuh like he making a cameo in T&T PFL lol

Well in fairness to him he's been scoring at a prolific clip... so could just be simple overconfidence.

This Sturridge-Suarez combo is proving to be real lethal.  Arguably, the best striking combo in the league?

Finally had a chance to watch the game... they definitely have an incredible understanding, and they've yet to play a full season together.  Factor in injuries to Sturridge in the second half of last season, and Suarez' suspension... and it's clear that they have a very long way to go still.  Wait 'til Coutinho come back to start pulling the strings.  As to your question... Rooney and Van Persie on paper but we all know how that going.  Chelsea have no strikers, Arsenal have only Giroud, Spurs have Soldado, but that's about it. City have Aguero and Negredo but they not exactly clicking yet. Hard to really find another comparable pair to Suarez and Sturridge.

Nope... but Sturridge may have been on his goal.  Disappointing performance from Liverpool  No reason we should have to come from behind against Newcastle, let alone having to do it twice.  Conceding a man down on an innocuous set piece with Sakho and Cissokho ball-watching was perhaps the low point of the match.  That being said, good fight to come back and earn a point... Rodgers has a lot of work to do keeping this team hungry and focused.

Thought we were wasteful in front of goal in the second half, especially Sturridge.

West Brom could have really been embarrassed today if Sturridge was a little sharper.  That being said... sublime chip over Myhill.

Arsenal and Liverpool on now.  Glen Johnson's a last minute scratch so Flanagan on at Right Wing Back, first time in 17 months he playing... weakens an already sketchy backline.  Martin Atkinson is the ref, watch fuh plenty cards  ::)

Atkinson is a f**king joke!  Pulling play back unnecessarily to deny Liverpool an equalizer.

Good win by Arsenal... they had three chances all game, one fell to Cazorla, one to Ramsey, the other to Giroud.  Liverpool in contrast had three... two to Henderson and one to Suarez.  That basically was the game... Henderson squandered both.... Cazorla and Ramsey scored beauties.  Game over.  Poor selection by Rodgers.

Luuukaaaaakuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!

I thought Everton had the better play before both Liverpool goals, and certainly were better in the 2nd half.
I also think the commentators didn't give Suarez enough credit on his free kick...

As I type. Stuuuriddggeeee...

Doesn't have the same ring to it.

This is a hell of a game.

This is a hell of a game.

For the neutral.  I thought Liverpool deserved to lose for the way we approached the game, for the chances we allowed and for our inability to retain possession and capitalize on our opportunities.  Allen's miss was a shocker... he should be on the bench at the training pitch.  Not sure why he started ahead of Moses.  Absolute waste of time today.  Gerrard salvaged a decent game with his assist on Sturridge's goal, and he may have had another on Coutinho's as well... not sure if he took the corner.  Other than that he could have stayed on the bus... complicit on Mirallas' goal and gave the ball away time and time again.  Pienaar was just picking his pocket in midfield.  Mignolet and Lucas were brilliant for Liverpool, as was Suarez.  Everton should be thanking their lucky stars they finished the first half with eleven men... let alone finish the game.  Nasty tackle by Mirallas on Suarez... straight red on any other pitch, any other day.
