So....a total of 21 players (male and female) from the Tobago screenings. Let's hope all players give their best as time goes on.

As expected, players who are in professional training environments performed better (were more consistent). However, there were decent enough performances by at least 3 players (with a possibility of 2-3 more for further screening) being included in the team's preparation. The time line is the main killer. Players must be registered with CFU/CONCACAF within the next two weeks. It's a tough position for Coach Brian Williams and his technical staff to be in. I can honestly say...they do need one or two players in certain positions to make the team a bit more sure (my own personal view).
As Rastaman said, it has been requested this team remain in training. This is something the TFA will have to discuss with all parties involved. It's an easy sell, but in reality...it comes down to $$$.

Lots of work to be...and is being done.
Girls U-15
Boys U-17 and U-20 preparations.
The fact that there is training going on for these age groups (not so much the U-20 with the limited time) is a significant departure from the norm. Continued training at the 'highest level' of youth football on the island for 20-25 players should start to bring about some hint of a mental change from what is normal to something more 'professional'. Just remember...these things take time.
There are other things happening behind the doors.

It's not a story. They are in training...up till this morning.
The weight-training problem has been a constant for some time now. Not saying it's an easy fix...There are some ways to keep them 'par' with their counterparts in T/dad. We need to use what we have for this.
NICEThis Tobago group in training story around for sometime now. The problem is the 26 mentioned entered a strength and conditioning program but the Tobago boys do not have the benefit of this coordinated preparation. They will probably bring a Tobago 11 to play a Trinidad 11 and not choose Tobago boys. We need the same process and preparations for all boys.
It's not a story. They are in training...up till this morning.

Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) president David John-Williams has defended National Under-20 Team coach Brian Williams’ message to his players that they risk jeopardising their international careers if they did not join Pro League clubs.
John-Williams, who is the owner of the W Connection Football Club, and Williams, who is a Connection youth team coach, addressed teenaged international aspirants at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva yesterday.
Williams’ initial 33-member shortlist comprised only of Pro League youth and senior team players. However, the coach allowed other players to try out, based on recommendations from other local coaches and football stakeholders.
Those additions included the Shiva Boys Hindu College duo of Tyrel “Pappy” Emmanuel and Quinn Rodney, St Mary’s College winger Ethan Shim, former St Benedict’s College custodian Jamari Warrick and St Anthony’s College winger Kathon St Hillaire and utility player Andrew Rullow.
Before the session started, the non-Pro League players were asked to stand up in front of their teammates.
“(The TTFA president) asked them what is the reason they are not with a Pro League club,” said the observer, who spoke on condition of anonymity. “The first two boys were Shim and St Hillaire and they said they were at academies and were focusing on improving their football with those academies.
“Then ‘Pappy’ said he was in Form Five and wanted to have some time to focus on exams. To which, John-Williams said ‘you are focusing on exams but you are here at national training (…) and just like you made a choice the coach has to make a choice’.
“He focused on Pappy for such a long time that he never got to ask Quinn Rodney why he was not at a Pro League club.”
Emmanuel, who was one of three Trinidad and Tobago players selected for a training stint with Manchester City earlier this year, was singled out by “Soca Warriors” coach Stephen Hart as one of the two island republic’s best young talents along with his schoolmate, Rodney.
The Shiva Boys student has apparently agreed to represent National Super League (NSL) club, Marabella Family Crisis Centre, in the upcoming senior season. The NSL is Trinidad and Tobago’s second tier competition and consists of amateur clubs.
Williams reiterated the importance of club football before the players left the session.

A provisional squad of thirty-three players have been called up to begin preparations with the National Under 20 Men’s Team at the Ato Boldon Stadium mainfield in Couva this Monday from 4:30pm.
Following the appointment of Brian Williams as Head Coach of the Men’s National Under 20 team this week, the former National team defender will welcome the players for the opening session as they look ahead to the build up for the Caribbean Football Union opening qualifying group phase in June in T&T, towards the 2017 FIFA Under 20 Men’s World Cup in South Korea.
“We’ve selected a squad of players that will come in on the first day to get acquainted with our plans and for us on the technical staff to be able to communicate from early what our vision and our intentions are with regards to getting the team ready for the start of the qualification,” Williams told TTFA Media.
This is the preliminary squad and we have identified a few players who are also based in the United States and England. We will also leave the door open to any other players who are eligible for selection, between this current time and the naming of the final team around late May,” he added.
Below is the list of T&T-based players who are requested to attend the opening session on Monday at the Ato Boldon Stadium. The national pool were training 3 times per week for about 4-6 weeks, and then went to 1 day a week sometime in August. They continue to train together and still haven't brought in the fellows that they selected from Tobago to be included in the initial pool.Elie made clarifications on the radio today. Said he has observed training in Tobago and that he has made fervent efforts to incorporate the Tobago-based players, but these efforts have been frustrated (likely by the usual suspects: resources and getting things done ... I did not hear a specific reason offered).
Seems the plan or intention is to pull a few from Tobago rather than to integrate all from 'Bago with all from T'dad and see who can hang.
My view: picking winners is just as effective as tossing a coin.

For Tobago, this is a step in the right direction (pre-screening training sessions rather than one-off surprise dates). Hopefully this will open the Tobago player's eyes to what is possible...
From my experience, the following words still resonate, " we have enough strikers in Trinidad, we looking for a central midfielder and goalkeeper. We'll have you as an alternate". I'll say no more.

Association of Football Coaches of Trinidad and Tobago (AFCTT)
Northern Football Coaches Association (NFCA)
Does anyone know if either is still functioning? The AFCTT's website www.afctt.com is still up but shows no activity except from spammers since 2010 (Kharim Matthias applied for the name). The only info I have for NFCA is that Carlos Franco applied for the name.
Can anyone shed some light on either Coaches' Association?

Admission is $20 in school uniform. $30 in street clothes.

Unlike many on this board who don't really care about the whole Trinidad and Tobago thing, it's downright disrespectful to the entire country and its citizens to call the country something it's not. I have never represented the country of TOBAGO nor ever will. I was born on the island of Tobago and happy to rep the people who are from and live here. Upsetting isn't a strong enough term when I hear our national athletes, who should know better, do not. I'm making a plea to you.....RESPECT THE COUNTRY OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO.

Ok soldier...so yea...make de jabloteh team and get notice! Also try and see if you could befriend anyone on the nt under 20 team! Network yourself...but make sure u keep training ur talent! You tube vids too could help...also try out for other teams like connection and central too...even if u cld train and catch some eyes for a first team place! Good luck yuteeeee better to play ball than sell ball!

Do I know if SJ Jabloteh has a female team or teams? No. They could. I do not know.
I will buss up my mouth when it comes to representing this twin-island republic. No individual who wants to represent the country should be allowed to speak of one-half of it. It would mean (whether intentional or not) that you have failed to represent the entire body of people. You should try explaining that to people like Dwight Yorke, Kelly-Ann Baptiste and our newest Prime Minister Dr. Rowley.
If this youth makes it on to the national team....I for one will be very happy. I simply want represent ALL OF US...Trinbagonians.
