Title: World Club Championship.
Post by: Deeks on December 11, 2009, 04:10:36 PM
I guess no one  is interested until the " final between Estudiantes and Barca".

I saw most of the game between Mazembe and Steelers. Very entertaining game. The Koreans were more organzed, but the Africans just lack in their marking. But boy them guys are skillfull. Very good game.

Mazembe lose at Club World Cup

TP Mazembe's Mbenza Bedi opened the scoring at the Club World Cup
Brazilian striker Denilson scored twice as Pohang Steelers of South Korea came from a goal down to beat DR Congo's TP Mazembe 2-1 at the Club World Cup.

The African champions took the lead in Friday's quarter-final in Abu Dhabi through Mbenza Bedi on 28 minutes with a long range effort.

Denilson equalised for the Asian champions on 50 minutes with a header from No Byung-jun's chipped cross.

The Brazilian struck the winner 12 minutes from time.

His second goal came as he beat the offside trap to race through and beat Muteba Kidiaba with a low shot between the keeper's legs.

Pohang Steelers will now play South American counterparts Estudiantes of Argentina in the semi-finals on Tuesday.

Mazembe now face a play-off for fifth place on Wednesday.

They will play the loser of Saturday's other quarter-final between Oceania champions Auckland City from New Zealand and Mexico's Atlante, who are the North and Central American champions.

Always heard that the south Americans take this more serious than Europe. Estudiantes are already in Dubai tthree days now. They don't play till the 15th. They should be well adjusted.

I watching Pohang Steelers vs Estudiantes.

3 men get sent off for Pohang. Including the keeper.

Denilson in goal

Not That Denilson, but still the man is they top scorer. So yuh down to 8 men and yuh best player now gone in goal to collect bullet.

5   Yellow cards
2   Second yellow card and red card
1   Red Cards

Mexican team beat the Kiwis 2-0.

If this Mexican team was Atlante, Joe Public beat them 1 to nothing last year.

Yep, that is the same Mexican team. They used to be based in Mex. city and they moved to Cancun. Beginners luck, and lo and behold, they win the Mex. championship for their new city. JP is one of the few caribbean teams to beat a Mex. team in Mexico. But there is a catch though. JP did it at sea level. Had that game been played in Mex. city it may have been a different story. Anyhow, congrats to the PLAYERS for their great season. We should not take anything away from them for their superb effort.

Observer,
Are you talking about Atlanate? Well their team look a stronger than when they play JP. But I see Barca just beat 3-1. I saw the final 20 mins.

I also saw some of the Mazembe-Auckland game. Game was 2-2 when I left.

Barcelona play some pretty football.
Messi score within a couple mins of coming on,  Iniesta assist to Pedro was brilliant, Bojan throw away a sitter and generally do nonsense.
Ibrahimovic had a brilliant pass to Messi for de goal.

Iniesta set to miss Club World Cup final

Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta will miss Saturday's Club World Cup final against Estudiantes after suffering a thigh injury in Wednesday's 3-1 victory over Atlante.

Bojan Krkic came on the replace the Spain international in the 75th minute of Barca's semi-final against the CONCACAF champions and initial scans revealed Iniesta had injured his left thigh.

Barca confirmed the 25-year-old is "virtually ruled out'' of the final but added: "A further scan will be made on Thursday morning to determine the extent of the injury".

No team has ever held every single club trophy at once. None has even come close. Until now.

Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona stand on the edge of history. If the Catalan Kings win the tournament in Adu Dhabi this month, they’ll be crowned world champions.

They will then have won every single club trophy in one season. A feat unmatched by any other team. Ever.

History awaits.

Well Spain don't have FA cup. They have the Kings Cup(Copa de Rey). England has the League Cup. Spain don't. They have one less. What the big deal.

Regardless of how many cup competitions they have, no club team has ever held all the trophies they could compete for at the same time.

Barcelona are no strangers in coming from behind and absolutely blitzing their opponents. But have they met their match here tonight? Estudiantes have made the Spaniards look very ordinary in the first half as they get the restart underway.

Ah know is a old tread but.....ah now watchin' games being replayed on fsc.....that team from the "Democratic" Republic of Congo, TP Mazembe....dize a niiiice team, boy.  Yes they lost both their games, the second one affected, no doubt, by an early sending-off, but this team ws really knockin' some ball and dominating their game against Auckland FC.  I really hope to see more sub-Saharan teams emerge in tournaments like this.
