Racing Genk midfielder Khaleem Hyland will not be available for Saturdays match, having been recalled to his club for a Cup clash. It was part of an arrangement between the TTFA and Genk management which stemmed from a late initial request for the player’s release for the tournament. Genk subsequently turned down the request before allowing him to join the squad ahead of the first game in agreement for his return ahead of the July 21st match with Anderlecht.

This is going to hurt alot. Lord I hope Hart don't bring in Theobold as a result! I will reallll cuss in the Dome if he do that! It was refreshing seeing positive play from our midfield last night.
-
This is really stupid.
Can we call in any replacements ?
-
Rel bullshit. TTFA alyuh cah be that big of a imps
-
BTW I thought hyland was suspended for that game
-
ah guess we have to roll with the punches.let's see who fills his role.looks like everybody want to step up their game now,no place is guaranteed.
-
Bring in Birchall....at least he go hustle and move the ball forward. ;)

Flex, if we progress beyond Mex, can he re-join the team? He's suspended at any rate for the Mex game based on his 2 yellows in the group phase
-
Anyone knows if we're playing the 3 or 6PM game on Sat?
-
Should be the first game
-
Anyone knows if we're playing the 3 or 6PM game on Sat?
At the moment it is the first game; the order of games will be finalised once all participants in the QF are known i.e. at some point tomorrow. As we playing Mexico (yes its their B/C team) it's possible the games may be swapped as the Mexicans have the biggest potential TV audience.

It was due to a late request from the management to release Hyland in the 1st place
Wallace, Muhammed..DO ALLYUH JOBS
First it was failing to apply for a VISA for Guerra, then a late request for Bateau and another late request for Hyland have the boy going home and missing a QF for his country
Stewpssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
It BETTER be Birchall and Boucaud in the center

Each team can register a squad of 23 players; 3 of them must be goalkeepers. Between the completion of the group stage and the start of the knockout stage, any team that reaches the quarter-finals can replace up to four players in the squad, where the new players must come from a provisional list of 35 players

Doubt we will ... none of the excluded can really come in now and make a difference
Just go with Birchall and Boucaud and figure out the rest of the team around that

Rel bullshit. TTFA alyuh cah be that big of a imps
I think it was the TTFF that did this Bullshit.. I mean, what's kinda of stupid deal is that, and why did they take that long to request the player?
-
Just to switch focus a bit here. Are we justified in being unhappy? not with our accomplishments to date but with our expectations of success? Realistically, teh coach set the bar at making quarterfinals- now what if we adjusted the bar and set our sights on the ultimate prize?
Look this Mexican team if at any time is ripe for the pickings- in reviewing the Martinique game, them boys fight down Mexico to the last whistle. The issue is that Mexico will make yuh pay when yuh lapse.
Question; do you think Mexico or the USA come into this tournament just wanting to make quarterfinals? I say we begin to set the bar a little higher for ourselves and begin to see ourselves as having a real legitimate chance like anyone else on any given day. Big players need to play big ball fuh we.

That picture is pure joy and happiness as they hold on to Glen #13, Jones and celebrate together. Truly therapeutic and healing for us on the website to see. No hating, no dissing, no cussin' orf anybody. Big up my Warriors! Respec' and Thank you.

I agree. Missing Hyland won't be a big deal. He's suspended anyway. He loses the ball too dam much and was also responsible for much of the bad passing in the first two games. I think the bigger blow is that Molino is also suspended. He and Boucaud played well. Fortunately we have great choices. We should keep boucaud and bring back Daniel with Birchall. Also, we could drop Roberts and put Edwards into the right midfield, playing Glenn and Jones up front. It could go a bunch of ways as long as Theobald stays on the bench.
-
Granted Hyland would have been suspended due to the two yellows, is this 'arrangement' made between TTFF and Genk legal? I only ask because the gold cup is sanctioned by FIFA and if his name is on this list then he should be available.
-

agreed, like i have said numerous times from the onset that hyland is not special, Guerra is special and should start over him on any given day, he could dribble, pass and possess a football...
hyland give away 3 balls that could have cost us a goal against hond, i happy he out the midfield

Waiting to see more evidence of BOLD moves by the coach:
move one - consider he bench the captain- outcome for Kj boost confidence and lead by example.
Move two- bench one star boy who eh having big impact- ummm -I speculating what if the Ipswich Town reporter was quoting CE- ah go join the team once we get eliminated- is ah fact he would join the team but timing of quote.
Move three bench starter KD- need to hussle back and help def
Move four- shake up defense
Move five- bring on CG
These strategic moves should not be understated in light of teh fact that a previously coached team by Hart get 8- different motivation different players but yuh know what- yuh cyar tell me Honduras was playing to lose- Them must of figure they B team could pound we so take that.
Now leh we see what moves going to play out against Mexico- a good feeling is that Mexico may have that superiority complex and may want to take we lightly- kinda how we does want to take Guyana!!!!
Leh we hope that whatever moves are taken that we get a favourable result- one thing we cyar over-think the game as we did against Haiti- we just need to battle through and through. Fight to the end- show up nd compete.
-
The Belize/Cuba pre-game show on Fox Sports, the idiot Eric Wynalda (or however his name is spelt) done declare that Mexico defeating T&T on Saturday. Hear nah...as much as many of us like to criticize our team, it's all out of love and national pride. Ah hope we prove these so-called experts like Wynalda wrong on Saturday.

Actually I think Hyland, Guerra and Boucaud would make a good midfield trio. Guerra is an attacker with some speed and good height. I prefer Hyland in the defensive position. Is a pity Hector ain't available.

Six of one half a dozen of the other.
All 35 must be fit where as the fitness level of the nucleus squad should be up to par and so on and so on...

If that was the arrangement that was the arrangement
Hyland has to please these people to keep his contract.
We can't pull rank bc hyland will not back the rank
At the end of the day it comes down to money

T&T plays the second game on Saturday at 5:30 pm. Cuba and panama play first at 3.
-
By the way if we beat Mexico we play either Cuba or panama in the semis  ... Very beatable sides... I'm just saying.
-
T and T!
-
Warren Barton on Fox say TT is he Dark Horse lol.
-
Let's hope playing in the 2nd games is our rabbit's foot.
-
T&T vs Mexico:
Any feedback on what is allyuh possible starting line up for Saturday's game?
-
(This is jus my opinion). The Warriors can definitely beat Mexico. Hyland needs to be a little bit quicker with his link up passes from the back, there passes are to slow in the attacking half of the field. Jones needs to not let the ball take so many bounces he could of easily had four goals (find that Death Touch). Molino stay aggressive my mvp of the last game. Glenn should always be in the starting line up once he is healthy he has a imagination on the ball and confidence a little rusty but with more playing time he will be fine. To the back Four Keep it basic just make the smart play nothing fancy, also, communicate know where each other is at all times on the field. Overall, possession of the ball is good, but possession with no progress is useless. dont mistake activity for achievement. Lets GO GET THIS WIN
-
Contrary to popular opinion, I think boucaud & Theobald will do well.
Theobald tends to look to nervous for me and makes a lot of mistakes.
-
By the way if we beat Mexico we play either Cuba or panama in the semis  ... Very beatable sides... I'm just saying.
panama has seriously improved, dem boys can seriously ball now......in fact due to their serious dev program they could be better than us...lehwe take it one game at a time please ;)
-
Contrary to popular opinion, I think boucaud & Theobald will do well.
Theobald tends to look to nervous for me and makes a lot of mistakes.
nice fella he just doh assert himself as he should..........when he does it he can be something else though....I have seen that live in manny Ramjohn Stadium
-
Touches beat me to the punch. Dwight left mid-tournament when we were rolling and made it to the semis I believe. I saw some posters refer to that team as the best T&T team ever.
Hyland is valuable because he is a physical ball winner. Boucaud is as well, but I think we benefitted from having two of these guys on the field at the same time. I think Birchall played a similar role in the World Cup, but not sure where his form or fitness is these days.
Have a sinking feeling that number 18 will be asked to the fill the role. The sad thing is that he is neither physical, nor good in possession. Seems to me like he is short of confidence and tries to play the ball off so quickly that he gives it away a lot.
Either way, we could poison this Mexico side with a strong effort and a little bit of luck.
-
Is Mexico missing any players through suspension ?
-
Carlos can replace Molino, and Keon could replace Khaleem. Would opt for Power over Bakr at cb.
Another option is Aubrey David at lb and pushing Jovin to the lm, starting Cyrus at cb and Carlos at rb
Cyrus's recovery speed could be very vital down the centre

Go back an check dat. We cuss same way for that too.
From what I understand, it may be less a case of administrative foul up on TTFF part regarding the release of players and more about a FIFA "timing" issue
If I understand correctly, for the first time in the tournament's history, FIFA designated the CONCACAF Gold Cup as an official FIFA tournament which means clubs have no choice but to release players for any tournament designated as such.
The announcement of this new designation from FIFA came AFTER the deadline for submitting player requests had passed resulting in several players not being available for their national teams for THIS tournament. It should not be a factor in the future.
-
I for one am relieved that we have someone like Theobald to call on in the absence of players like Hyland and Molino.
I'm not a Bleeder fan like kiffysmooth, but de fella has the experience and the technique to do the job for us.
He is not a physical ball winner and he's not the greatest offensive player, but he does take care of the ball and tends to not give it away needlessly. That IN THIS TEAM is a major asset.
Those that out are Hyland and Molino. Hoyte eh seem as if he coming back and Joevin Jones got subbed off the last game with an injury so he might be doubtful.
XI might look like this:
Williams - goalie
Mitchell - CB
Power - CB
Cyrus - RB
Aubrey David - LB
Boucaud - CM
Theobald or Birchall - CM
Edwards - LM
Roberts - RM
Glen - Striker
Jones - Striker
So dat is Power, David, Theobald or Birchall, and Edwards all with "fresh" legs coming in.
While Abu Bakr did decently against Honduras, I fear his lack of pace will be exposed against the speedy Mexico forward line....especially Fabian. So hopefully Power is fit because he may be a better option in that case.
Regardless of who plays, I know they will do their best and have my full support.
-
nice team Palos have to say I get frighten when I see d team go out in 4-4-2 but ah was pleasantly surprised to see the team not getting isolated in their zones "good movement" it also looked like glen was either playing slightly behind kenwin or would fall back to CAM to pick up the ball when needed so I was happy

-
if the defence hold out we can beat mexico
we have to defend with 9 and go back to leaving jones alone up front and bring Glen off the bence or
rush mexico and hope we can outscore them
curious to see which approach hart take.
we have nothing to lose best we go at them with 2 or 3 forwards.

And like palos forgetting that Theobold's carelessness led directly to goal #2 against Haiti. Despite that, i would gie him a bligh. He has a chip on his shoulder and should come out with some intensity

The question then becomes would you give him back the armband. Me personally I wouldn't only because I find KJ has been more of a leader in both his effort and vocally as well. Those are 2 areas where I find Bleeder is deficient as a team captain. Now if yuh doh give him back the armband will that affect him mentally?

Racing Genk midfielder Khaleem Hyland will not be available for Saturdays match, having been recalled to his club for a Cup clash. It was part of an arrangement between the TTFA and Genk management which stemmed from a late initial request for the player’s release for the tournament. Genk subsequently turned down the request before allowing him to join the squad ahead of the first game in agreement for his return ahead of the July 21st match with Anderlecht.

The team will be just fine, Boucard is very capable, Birchall probably chomping at the bit hoping for a chance and even Theobald probably smarting from that drop and will want to prove a point. Could even throw Daniel in that role. We have decent cover
:shameonyou:
roberts played his best game last night...
Maybe so, but I know this....five Roberts ain't worth one Carlos Edwards. So who would be the better player to give KJ and Glenn balls from the right? Case dismissed.
Sammy if i was you i wouldn't even bother with this fella.
it have some ppl who does watch sports with their hearts and not their brain, hence the reason bookies make ah decent livin, that's bc they capitalize on ppl's emotions and their inability to analyze game stats and player ratio, they also don't have a keen eye for talent and hidden ability.
in other words, they tend to gravitate towards the obvious.
-
I think Molino will be a big miss. . .his service to Kenwyne and Glenn and his creativity was a major factor . . . not to mention his clinically placed goal with poise.
I would like to see Birchall replace Hyland
4-4-1-1 with Glen behind Jones
-
The return of "Wicky"! Hopefully Edwards put more of the same on him.

Assistant Coach Hutson Charles talks about the efforts - TTFA Media TV
Very impressed by the humility and the desire to learn by Mr.Charles. As a matter of fact in the formative stages of the Caribbean Cup prior to another co coach joining him, I thought he had the younger players responding well and the team was actually holding their own. I see this coach with a future in developing local talent and grooming players for our national teams.
I hope when this tournament is over that these coaches are part of a restructuring program working with our U-15-, U17,U20 and U23 team. Not only the players but also the coaches. Mr.Hart having being familiar with the Canadian regional and provincial programs could probably assist in structuring regional programs on the islands and reframing the game at the college level. I think with the assistance of government funding, initiatives like this could benefit greatly than a band aid approach of spending millions to bring a Shaq O Neil for a basketball token appearance and prize money and resulting in no sustainable improvement in the social fabric or game in TnT.

Fox soccer news just had an interview with Beenie. He say ttfa ask him to analyze the team to see what's the problem for a period of 2,3 or 4 months.... I doh think he sure how long.

I am more wary of the USA . . . if we were to meet them
Only way we could meet them is in the final. If we reach that far
-
I am more wary of the USA . . . if we were to meet them
Based on the brackets, we could only meet the USA in the finals. If we end up facing them, then it means that we did something quite right to make the finals. And in the end, ANYONE could be beat. Although the game being played on US soil, and the US has won many Gold Cups finals, the fact is on any given day, anyone could win.
Also, last time I checked, all the countries we're facing in the Gold Cup has won the same amount of WORLD CUP Finals as T&T --- Absolutely ZERO. They ain't no more elite than T&T --- we could beat them.
Cheers!

I agree wid yuh on that one BUT I still feel deep down in meh heart we can beat them (USA)

For us to be without high profile players like Hoyte,Hyland and Molino may impact on our chances of winning, sometimes though the replacements can be just as good or better so I hope this is the case for us.I hope we play a good game and show people that we are a good little football nation and we can recover from all the adverse internal wars that have bugged us since 2006.
GO ON WARRIORS PLAY A GOOD GAME WIN OR LOSE.

Any body could beat anybody on any given day, but the reality is, are we ready for this level??
in all honesty, i would rather lose than to be rewarded with a false sense of hope and a flawed evaluation.
like i said before, for me it's not about the results, bc that would come with time and hard work with the right ppl on board and the proper mechanism in place, but rather building and development, long tern vision.
in other words, i would rather build a city than a house, id rather have a tractor and six acres of farm land than a lamborghini, id rather have five proper academies than the gold cup trophy. ;)

@just cool --- Ah hear dat...but truth be told we could have we cake and eat it too, eh.
I say we could win, and STILL accomplish continual building & development for the long term. We could indeed win the Gold Cup trophy and still create 5 proper academies for the future of our football.
Also, btw...Lamborghini was actually started by the owner of a tractor production company in Italy...lol. :beermug:

I will always support a T&T team in any sport ....who else I go support ..I's ah trini ! However unrealistic expectations are not part of my bag ...I would be quite happy for a good performance from this team seeing where they were not too long ago.
Beating Mexico at this tournament, though possible, is not very being realistic in my view as we have been performing really badly in the recent past ..if we were to be honest. Rome was not built in a day and it also takes years to build a good team. Mr Hart said he was not a miracle worker but that is proving to be untrue as good things are happening after such a long wait.
We can take some good things from this tournament already but it is the rebuilding that we will make or break. Too early yet to judge Mr Hart but I am optimistic thus far...just my write.

Warriors excited on eve of Mexican clash.
T&T Guardian Reports.
T&T’s senior footballers will have their first feel of the Georgia Dome this evening ahead of tomorrow’s Concacaf Gold Cup quarterfinal affair with two-time defending champions Mexico.
The Stephen Hart-coached “Soca Warriors” have had two sessions so far in Atlanta at the Emory University Ground, located 15 minutes away from the Westin Plaza Hotel.
It is primarily the home stadium for the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons and the NCAA’s Georgia State Panthers football team. It was the largest domed structure in the world until 1999, when London’s Millennium Dome was completed. With a capacity of more than 71,000, the Georgia Dome has hosted football matches involving Manchester City, AC Milan, Mexico and Venezuela.
“We’re excited about the quarterfinal itself and playing at the venue is something all the guys are looking forward to,” said T&T skipper Densill Theobald.
“This whole experience is massive for us. We feel privileged to have reached the quarter finals of the Gold Cup and I think the boys are really up for it right now. Mexico will be tough to overcome but we intend to be tough opponents as well,” said the Caledonia AIA midfielder.
Columbus Crew midfielder Kevan George, a replacement for Khaleem Hyland, joined the team camp on Wednesday night and was part of the yesterday’s training, while Middlesbrough defender Justin Hoyte has resumed light training.
“There are a couple guys with knocks but nothing serious. Of course we’ll be without Justin but he will be ready for the semifinals once we progress,” said Hart.
“We have young Kevan George joining the squad as a replacement for Khaleem and so far the mood and the attitude of everyone has been very good. Everyone is embracing this experience and it will serve us well as team going forward. The match itself on Saturday is a big assignment but these are matches you always anticipate at this level and we’ll be preparing just as well for it,” Hart added.
Mexico, the runner up in Group A, is in action on Saturday when it faces the runners-up of Group B, T&T, at the Georgia Dome. Mexico is a clear favourite according to odds released by the Las Vegas Hilton Superbook. The early fixture on Saturday is between Panama and Cuba.
The United States is a large favourite to beat El Salvador and advance into the semifinals of the Concacaf Gold Cup.

Buzzing for tomorrow
Good luck to the staff and players... all we want to see is Effort and everyone walking off the field knowing they couldnt give anything more.... Having said that , If we collectively give everything we will walk off that field as winners and into the semi finals
I BELIEVE... but it isnt me wearing the shirt tomorrow... Dig Deep lads
I would like to see Birchall in for Hyland...I think it is time to unleash the hungry..Boucaud is quality and with both of them being quite mobile and energetic I think we will need both to track any Mexican attacking mids who can move the ball quickly in our 3rd...
I dont think Bleeder has the legs for that job
I would bring back in Power... Abu Bakr to me is shakey and covering ground is not his strong point..

Why would they put edwards on the right wing when molino is out due to suspension and jovin jones needs ah speedy partner on the wing to help with the defensive duties?
why would the coach play carlos on the right wing when he used roberts in a do or die game and he performed well, why would he revert to another winger when the initial winger came through? ah guess you know more football than stephen hart, leo beenhakker and hutson charles combined?
another mad notion was that 442 formation you second! you expect to play speedy mexico with only four midfielders?? you didn't even suggest it in case the game goes past the full 90+, but to start the game with an attacking formation is absurd! but what do i know, i'm getting high on cow shit covered ganja, remember.

3. Darryl's finishing has been atrocious in every game so far, painful to watch.

I fully expect him to go with Roberts on the right and Carlos on the left...
Roberts is more tactically disciplined vs Daniel.... but Daniel is also a big man and you can have a word with him on his responsibilities for tomorrow..and I much prefer him on the ball to Roberts... not to mention set piece delivery etc which is our biggest weapon vs Mexico
Also I've gone 4-4-2 but a very compact 4-4-2 so Kenwyne and Glenn as the outlets to relieve our midfielders and defenders and give them time to regroup while giving Mexico's defenders a tough task keeping both KJ and Glen quiet... both are a handful and bring different things... keep them on their toes

(1) i guess you didn't watch the last game or the game before, and ah guess you just start watching carlos. show me one cross that carlos put in over the yrs as a winger for the warriors that resulted in a goal, just fackin one!! bring his stats! im waiting. :waiting:
and there are other aspects to being a winger than crossing the ball willy nilly. a winger also put ground passes in the box and roberts has done loads of that, but since no goals was scored bc of it then it doesn't count in the eyes of the instant gratificationalist dem.
for all the yrs carlos was with sunderland he never assist on a cross ball to kenwyne or anyone else for that matter, that's why jordan henderson took his place on the right wing. service my balls!
(2)Edwards a creator, don't make me laugh my guts out. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: and all this talk bout turning up players, the point of being a winger is to create chances, look @ evans wise and tinto, they have moves to lend ronaldo, but their assist rate is atrocious. roberts is not ah right winger but rather an attacking mid and an all out striker.
if you ask me, i don't even like him there, but he does not only play on the flanks all the time, sometimes he come in the middle to pair up with KJ, that's why he got those two shots on goal vs vs haiti, but if you were watching the game from a tactical stand point you would see that.
(3) and kenwynes was delightful wasn't he? im sure if roberts had three of the four chances KJ blew he would have @ least converted one. to show how fickle you guys are, had we lost that game on monday no one would ever want to see KJ back in the national colors, the same way allyuh was dogging him before the gold cup.
don't get me wrong, i like carlos, but in the center of midfield, or on the left flank, bc he helps out the weaker side in defense and he puts in less meaningless crosses, and makes more meaningful passes on the ground level that stands a better chances of getting inthe back of the net and not being intercepted and headed away. but i'm just a football dunce, what do i know.
-
Carlos makes good crosses it terms of technique. But he can't hit the broad side of a barn. That's how inaccurate most of his air crosses are. Does all the work to get into position but gives a bad cross most of time. Unless he plays it on the ground.
Jones needs to convert his chances. Van Persie or Hernandez would of buried those one on one chances with the keeper.
-
To me we are yet to see the best of both players, what we know they can do and have done in the past. They have both had flashes but not the consistently high performance we have come to expect of both of them. Roberts has been robbed some national team duty under past coaches whereas we have of course seen Carlos in all of his glory.
To me Hart is still experimenting some and quite frankly he has to. He has primarily used Carlos on the left and Roberts on the right but the former replaced the latter on the right vs Hon: so we'll see tomorrow.
Part of me thinks he'll play a 4-4-1-1 with KD in the pocket and Carlos and Roberts where has primarily used them. The wild card is the two HMs/DMs, BoubBou is one for sure, just hope the other is Crisse

I actually agree with JC. Carlos is not an accurate crosser of the ball. If he was, he'd still be in the Premiership. He has good speed, good technical ability but crosses are very inconsistent.
For those who don't think Darryl Roberts is starting, allyuh smoking something. I can see Carlos on the left and Darryl Roberts on the right. I cannot see Keon Daniel starting. That Keon Daniel kid is an enigma. Other than that, I personally prefer Seon Power to Abu Bakr as well, but hey, what do I know.
I'll be in the dome myself, for the first time in my 16 years in the ATL, trini in the Dome...not missing it!!

Damn! Refs for T&T vs Mexico:
Referee: Joel Aguilar (SLV)
AR: Juan Francisco Zumba (SLV)
AR: Octavio Jara (CRC)
Fourth: Walter Quesada (CRC)
Fifth: Christian Ramirez (HON)
Assessor: Donald Wilbur (USA)
Why is that so bad. If there is any bias wouldn't SLV want the perceived weakest team to reach a potential final with them? Thus far Aguilar has centered for the Mexico/Canada match. Who would you rather have, Campbell or Wijngaarde?

We need to make full use of Kenwyne's height advantage in this game. English football style...down de line, cross, head, goal.

Although we need to manage our expectations against Mexico, on ANY given day any team can beat any team. Not too long ago Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, was able to draw 2-2 with Italy, and lose 2-1 to mighty Spain. Albeit those were warm-up friendlies for Spain and Italy, but still...they did not soundly defeat Haiti, regardless of how much people out there would like to discount Haiti's mini-accomplishment earning those results.
Again...on any given day, any team can beat any team, And the fact of the matter is that there is really nothing inherently special about the USA, Mexico or any of these other 'elite' teams in CONCACAF that dictate to us that we cannot beat them.
All those countries have the same exact number of World Cup titles as T&T --- Zero. For all the talk out there by the so-called experts, the fact remains is that thee is absolutely nothing special about Mexico, except in our own inferiority complex in our heads at times when playing against them. That has always been my opinion on this subject, no matter how many times we've lost.

I see forumites building a team for Today's game while Hart seem to be Innovative, so where does Kevan George fit in? no one mentioned this guy.

I hope something good just waiting to happen for TT football,we could go from the "ridiculous to the sublime" with a win.

Please Note;
The last time Marco Fabian played against a T&T team he scored a hat trick and that would be against Angus Eve Olympic team in Los Angles last year when Mexico beat us 7-1.
Furthermore, the last time both teams met at this level, Mexico won 4-0 and that was in 2000. Nakhid, Yorke, Latapy, Dwarika, Wise, King, Eve and Rougier was all there.
The Gold Cup before that (1998) they won 4-2. This game, where Yorke miss the penalty.
http://vimeo.com/channels/socawarriors/30621916
So we need to play a smart game and beware of Mexico.
I dont believe in past results, but we need to give them the respect.

Jan J.Jones Mitchell Power Cyrus Daniel Birchall Boucaud Carlos Glen Jones
Boss, you reading my mind. You believe there are some people who think Roberts would be more effective than Edwards. Really? What dem smokin?
Like you and Roberts went to school together or something ah what? Why does every idea with him NOT involved is ah problem? We can't sit back against Mexico and use one of our best attacking options at the back defending. We have enough defenders. Carlos should be utilized more as an attacking force. Our strength is in the air, and if he plays that right midfield role, not only will it throw the Mexicans off guard but he could provide the balls needed for Jones and Glenn. The goal is to strike fast and hard. Not put Carlos in the back and hope the defense hold up.

Warriors go after Mexico in Gold Cup quarter-final clash.
By Shaun Fuentes (TTFA).
Trinidad and Tobago will be hoping to send some shockwaves through the Concacaf region when they face Mexico in the second match of a double header as the first set of Gold Cup quarter-final matches take centrestage at the Georgia Dome, Atlanta on Saturday.
T&T takes on the six-time Gold Cup champions at 6:30pm with Panama facing Caribbean Cup champions Cuba from 3:30pm. For T&T, at stake is a place in the semi-finals against the winner of the Cuba/Panama match at the Cowboys Stadium, Texas next Wednesday. Click for more training photos
The last and only time T&T progressed to the Semi-finals was in 2000 after they stopped Costa Rica on a golden-goal extra time winner by the late Mickey Trotman before bowing out 1-0 to Canada in the ‘semis’. That team included the likes Dwight Yorke, Angus Eve, David Nakhid, Marvin Andrews, Russell Latapy, Jerren Nixon and other prominent names. The campaign that year also started off with a 4-0 hammering from Mexico.
The Mexicans, after losing to Panama in their opening match of this tournament, are fielding several young players but head coach Jose Manuel De La Torre is expecting his team to demonstrate their class and go all the way for a seventh title.
“We have come here to defend our title and we will play for this in every game. We do not expect it to be easy but our ambitions are always the same. And that is to win the tournament. Our feelings about the game against Trinidad and Tobago will be no different,” he said.
“We have to keep working to find the answer to win the Gold Cup,” de la Torre added “So, pressure or no pressure, that’s the way it is. That’s the way it is with the Mexican national team. You have to understand that and know that.”
In the Mexico line up is Chivas striker Marco Fabian who netted a hattrick in the 7-1 win over T&T in the Olympic qualifier in Los Angeles last year. Mexico central defensive partnership of Joel Huiqui and Juan Carlos Valenzuela have been together for the previous games and T&T’s attacking line will hope to exploit that. T&T will not doubt have to keep close eyes on Mexico’s full backs Miguel Layon and Adrian Aldrete. Chivas striker Rafa Marquez Lugo has not been particularly threatening in the tournament so far
“Regardless of their position and what people may say about them, Mexico is Mexico and we have to prepare well for them and be on top of our game in order to get the result we desire,” head coach Stephen Hart told TTFA Media.
“At these tournaments teams come into their own the longer the tournament goes on and just like we’ve done better by the time the Honduras game came along, the same may apply to our opponents. It’s match where both teams will surely being going at each other because a place in the semi-finals is at stake.”
Jones: We’ll play our game
Trinidad and Tobago forward Kenwyne Jones does not believe that the “Soca Warriors” style of play and approach for Saturday’s Concacaf Gold Cup qualifier against Mexico should depend on the fact that they are facing the regional powerhouse.
Jones, speaking to a barrage of Mexican TV crews today, was asked whether he thought T&T would be under too much pressure from the Mexicans.
“I don’t believe we have to think about whether they are number one or not. We know for a fact that they are a good footballing nation and perhaps they may be the favourites for the match but I’ve played against them several times before and I think we’ve had some pretty good results” Jones said.
“At the same time we know what our approach has to be but we will not let the hype surrounding the game affect that. We’ve been preparing for our past opponents and we’ll do just the same for the Mexicans.
“I know the country is expecting us to give a good showing and we are hoping to just that on the day. We’ll see just how far our efforts can take us,” said the Stoke City forward.
Philadelphia Union midfielder Keon Daniel, who sat on the bench during the 2-0 win over Houston, echoed similar sentiments to Jones.
“I think we have to worry about our style of play and our game. We just have to face up to whatever Mexico brings on the day. I know we’re looking forward to it and we know the country and the fans back home are also a bit excited. But we will not get carried away by what we’ve done here so far. The result of a game is determined on the day itself,” Daniel said.
Both teams were scheduled to train at the Georgia Dome on Friday evening. The two teams also used the Emory University ground for their sessions previously. A grass surface was laid down on the turf pitch at the Dome this week specifically for Saturday’s match.
Meantime, Former T&T striker Jerren Nixon, who now lives in Atlanta, visited the training session on Thursday and wished the team well in Saturday’s game which he will also attend. TTFA President Raymond Tim Kee and General Secretary Sheldon Phillips also returned to the US on Friday night and will attend Saturday’s match.

JC ah rate yuh opinions but Carlos did cross fuh Latas left foot volley vs usa
I was challenging this bredder who said that carlos was an assist machine.
for all the yrs i watchin carlos which is a lot, i never saw a cross that lead to a goal, i'm not saying that there was none, that would be silly of me to say, but look how far back you have to go.
my point was, if carlos sooo good, then show me the goal fax. ;D
one of carlos weakest areas for me of putting in crosses which always goes awry, he has to be the kind of winger like pennant, putting balls on the strikers feet.
TBH i like carlos in the center of midfield, once he played there under latas tenure and the boy was ah revelation. he didn't put a foot wrong, that's where carlos belongs ultimately.

Trying to figure out the tactics.
Brave move to play two strikers to me, two midfielders with one of them being Daniel. Honestly thought the technical staff would have played Theobald, Daniel and Boucaud to consolidate possession.
Based on the line up it looks like a more direct play with the ability of Jones to find either Glen or the wingers running the channels.
We'll see, let's go T&T vibes it up.

a woman and her truck..... :bs:
-
Wish I could ' like' some of the comments, agree with triniairman!
-
Edwards needs to be much more effective than he has been! Too many bad passes an inaccurate crosses leading to us losing the ball after our other players have been doing a decent job at keeping the ball and moving it forward.
Let’s hope Edwards can be more effective in the 2nd half as he can be the key to putting some crosses onto Kenwyne's head and us scoring some goals in the 2nd half.
Come on Soca Warriors you can do it!! Let's burst Mexico's bubble in this 2nd half!
-
I agree with the commentator, lazy defending from Daniel to let the cross come in with no pressure. We're giving the Mexicans too much time on the ball to make good 30-40M passes.
-
Hear it nah...I still surprised at the half-time show, de announcers were bigging-up the T&T defense. Who knew that anyone would've complimented a T&T defense in this tournament? lol
-
Hey it's good fast football let's enjoy and hope for a positive outcome. Come on T&T yey
-
I aint like how t&t start...
Mexico look like dey come out for we this half
-
Comon T&T

Well as at the 67th min all yuh cyar cuss Jan Michael eh.....as for Edwards he frustrating me and ah not sure what Keon doing. We really missing Molino and Hyland......

Edwards need to come off before daniels
-
Somebody need tuh breathe on the keeper with these corners. Ah feel we can steal this one, all we need is one clear chance.
-
That's better T&T
-
Truth be told, the T&T team just before this tournament would've been down 3-0 already. This is a great result thus far. Regardless of de outcome of this game, you can see the improvements already, though still far to go.
This is a game we can win. GO T&T!!!!!!
-
Fresh legs!
-
Mexico feeling the pressure
-
Bring on Birchy for Keon
-
Bring on fresh legs and determination for salvation!!!
-
Nice Jones fight dem!!!

-
Last chance lets get this
-
What the hell dread. What the hell!!!!! Why this man wait till the 88th minute to make the two subs dread! Since the 65th minute Daniel should have come off and Birchall on. UNBELIEVABLE!!!
-
Good fight fellas we gotta build on this now...
-
shoulda slide that to birch for a shot
-
we give dem a good scare...and for that we can be proud
-
Good effort fellas. :applause: :applause: Done watchin this tournament!
-
T&T in rebuild mode. Good things to come.
-
Something to build-on. I look forward to seeing where theT&T team is MONTHS from now --- very promising future.
-
Happy with the effort. Subs should of been made earlier. But say what at least we didn't bend over and let them beat us.
-
Conceding in the 83rd minute made it difficult to mount a comeback.
A great effort by the fellas; hopefully they learn from this match.
-
Good fight guys :applause: :applause: :applause:
-
These f@$king Americans just want to be in the final with Mexico.. That will generate a shit load of money.
-
*sigh* oh well.....despite the loss.....I eh too sad. We did well to keep Mexico at bay for 80 mins.....well done fellas!!
Coach, ah not too sure what the strategy was with them late subs eh.....but I eh really know as much as you about football.....

Proud of a scare. Why are we always satisfied with such mediocrity! We could've won this game. We should have one this game. The players did well but scare my foot!!
-
Them to blame to defensive all game wrong tactics
Wrong tactics....?
Man, we play good! me aint know how you go say that!
-
Okay, now I'll be rooting for El Salvador to win this tournament. I eh want to see de lame-boring-OVERRATED US team win this one. Just saying. ;D
-
ah cud accept dis lost...hard luck fellas keep de future fight...bless and thanks
-
Taking into account we was missing Hoyte, Hyland, Molino, Joevin and Carlyle Mitchell, we eh do too bad.
-

Proud of a scare. Why are we always satisfied with such mediocrity! We could've won this game. We should have one this game. The players did well but scare my foot!!
Man people need to relax...
The warriors play good!
-
We could have been better.
And the coach didnt make any subs because we simply did not have the depth. Obviously when the goal scored something drastic had to be done.
-
Good fight Warriors!!!! :applause:
-
Taking into account we was missing Hoyte, Hyland, Molino, Joevin and Carlyle Mitchell, we eh do too bad.

Which was on my mind too when the subs came late......so why he bother at that point??....*shrugs*
-
I think I jinxed us. Around the 81st I said : Is this going to be another England match?" and behold... in the 85th min. (or 84th) Mexico score.
:(
-
Good effort fellas. :applause: :applause: Done watchin this tournament!
Nah, nah.....I taking in the re-match Panama vs. Mexico.....and ah backing Panama..... ;D ;D
You gotta watch the USA game tomorrow as well and hope El Salvador pull off an upset :)
-
would of like tuh see jovein jones introduce because he wud off add some defense into attack play in de second half
The 2 FB was going good though.
I just think that edwards was the player keeping we back a bit - he wasnt going down the wing hard at all!
-
Taking into account we was missing Hoyte, Hyland, Molino, Joevin and Carlyle Mitchell, we eh do too bad.
Spot on!
We play good!
I agree. Everyone gave a good account of themselves on the pitch. J.M Williams..man of the match. But or gosh Steven Hart. Two subs in the 88th minute. You serious man. I was looking for Birchall since minute 65. Dam it man :frustrated:
-
we give dem a good scare...and for that we can be proud
Proud of a scare. Why are we always satisfied with such mediocrity! We could've won this game. We should have one this game. The players did well but scare my foot!!
mexico desreved the win....hush yuh tail, it was a good effort although i felt abu bakr should have done better with marking jimenez.
we are rebuilding, it has nothing to do with satisfaction with mediocrity.
-

You gotta watch the USA game tomorrow as well and hope El Salvador pull off an upset :)

-
Tactically disciplined display by the Warriors. We have to take this development under Hart in stages: restore tactical discipline and physical conditioning, maintain possession of the ball to allow us to play on the counter, depending on the opponent, and gradually learn to assert ourselves in the game. Curious to see what Hart will do from here. The player pool definitely has to deepen, as we need to be able to rotate players during tournaments like these. Lots of positives to take away from this Gold Cup.
-
Good effort fellas. :applause: :applause: Done watchin this tournament!
Nah, nah.....I taking in the re-match Panama vs. Mexico.....and ah backing Panama..... ;D ;D
Yeah, I will flip thru tuh see if US get beat.
-
Good Effort by T&T man, real fight. Can't fault the effort and commitment of any player. Standouts; Jan was ah different class tonight & Cyrus performance was pleasing as well. Thought the team got better defensively as the game went on.
Hart done well overall, showed he could get these guys organised.Slightly disappointed that He wait till the last 2 mins to make changes, thought he should ah done so about 10 mins earlier as some fellas was real flaggin at that point. Daniel had a real up and down game as well, he wasn't clicking on the dead ball delivery.
Sadly we now have to wait about 12 - 18 months fuh another meaningful game tuh get the public interested again.
-
Man the team was going good! We didnt need a player like birchall with the game 0-0...
The only player who wasnt up to par IMO was Edwards...if molino was available, he would've been subbed early o'clock, or he may not even have started
-
the commentators was talking real tata though........ how carlos more comfortable on his left foot and birchal is great at dribbling and and making the passes
-
Taking into account we was missing Hoyte, Hyland, Molino, Joevin and Carlyle Mitchell, we eh do too bad.
True talk! Among other things, we really missed the creativity of Molino, making those devious passes in the opposition penalty area.
All-in-all, I'm proud of de effort, though was puzzled at times by the late subs and some of the tactics. But I'm not a paid member of the T&T coaching staff so what do I know?
We did have a HUGE victory this year that will impact our football for possibly generations to come --- we staked Count Jackula. That in itself is like winning a World Cup. Heads held high! Future onward and forward.
Bless! :beermug:
-
the commentators was talking real tata though........ how carlos more comfortable on his left foot and birchal is great at dribbling and and making the passes
Yeah i laugh at that too :rotfl:

Which was on my mind too when the subs came late......so why he bother at that point??....*shrugs*
We were holding out. Keon was not too good defensively but i guess he was kept on for his set pieces. take Carlos off and put on Carter? NO
Carlos is better defensively than carter anyway. Cornell got very tired. But bring on gay? NO
We simply did the best we could given the situation
-
i have real hope in this current team.. - the complete team.... we young and looks like we have good guidance to start going places.
We just need a couple of strikers to take over from glen (32yrs and injury prone) and jones.
-
we give dem a good scare...and for that we can be proud
Proud of a scare. Why are we always satisfied with such mediocrity! We could've won this game. We should have one this game. The players did well but scare my foot!!
Man people need to relax...
The warriors play good!
That's why our football will never go to the next level, as long as we keep this just relax attitude. We satisfied with a good fight, a nice play and a one nil loss to Mexico. We seem to forget that the point of the whole matter is to win the tournament. Manchester City made the final of the F.A. Cup, finished second in the premier league and competed in the champions league last season. Good enough you might say. Guess what, Mancini still got fired. We accept too little for the enormous amount of talent we have. We'll never win the any tournament with that just relax nonsense.
-
would of like tuh see jovein jones introduce because he wud off add some defense into attack play in de second half
injured
or scene because i was wondering why not make dat sub

-
We was playing to good ,Stephen just didnt want to f**k up the flow and goat mouth the team .

As I've said before, we did have a HUGE victory this that will impact our football for possibly generations to come --- we STAKED de insidious Count Jackula. That in itself is like winning a World Cup.
Heads held high! Future onward and forward. :beermug:
-
Good going...finally a coach see what I seeing so long and bench Theobald. Never understood his presence on the team. Got to appreciate Cyrus, Molino, Joevin Jones, still not sure about Hyland, and Power just too uncomposed.
Bye Bye Carlos thanks for the memories. Compared to how this team was playing a few months ago I'm satisfied. Good showing fellas. Cyar say good job TTFA just yet though, jury still out on them, but OK restart.
Aight things improving..

Good call there Milky ; I also think that we are a society that rewards mediocrity and, as a result, never really aspire to excellence, but given the abysmal performances of this team in the recent past, celebrating a fighting loss to the current champions is understandable.....what's important is that we see this as a mile post along the journey rather than the destination.

Milky, you're pretty 'new' here so you don't realize that everybody already done know that...these guys on here been saying the same thing for mad years now. No one here believes in mediocrity. But by the same token, you have to sit back and be realistic with the hand we were dealth coming in to the tournament. Corruption...theft...controversy...lack of direction...just hired a new coach 3 weeks ago...and all kinda drama.
The team right now is in a RE-BUILDING mode. This is a Soca Warrior team that most people thought wouldn't even make it out of the first rounds, farless compete with the likes of Mexico.
Can we win tournaments and beat anyone on the planet --- I believe 'YES we can", and I'm betting that almost EVERYONE on this site believes the same thing. Do I believe that we can do those great things 'today' (this early in the re-building process)? Truthfully the answer is we're not quite ready yet, but we have the great foundation to build upon.
So yeah, Fari is quite right. Everyone wants to win, but most of the 'veterans' here understand what's at stake, and what it'll take to get us where we need to be to become those 'world-beaters'. So for now...cool yuh herbs. :beermug:

Mexico deserved to win? ARE YOU SERIOUS! Deserve you say...like they play some world class football! You hush your tail!! That Mexican coach almost get a heart attack cause if he lost, he would be out of a job. T&T deserve to win cause Mexico has the better team, the better coach and 99% of the fans in the stadium were backing Mexico. Boy go and sleep eh.

It's not a "just relax" mentality at all, the warriors have been poor for quite some time...and i seri0ously think that YOU need to relax tbh...
it wasnt like we were coming into this tournament with any side being wary of us...
We just get we tail cut in europe by mediocre-ish teams from europe and to see the guys come out and fight hard, i was proud! Kenwyne jones led from the front as captain IMO, although he miss a few chances, he kept encouraging the guys to keep it up.
I'm proud!

Good post Tenors, could finally see some light at the end of that abysmal precipice into which we were plunged post 06. Let's continue re-building, one step at a time :beermug:

Really? Is the name calling necessary. This ain't secondary school...calm yourself. So you trying to say that because they had more shots...they deserve to win? Spain vs Switzerland...world cup 2010. Ball possesion: SPN 67% - SWT 33%. SHOTS TOTAL: SPN 22 - SWT 6. CORNERS: SPN 12 - SWT 3. Guess what son....Spain lost 0 - 1. Don't tell me nonsense that the team that have the better stats deserve to win. Peace.

Lefty --- True talk! Although we all disappointed with the final score, and though not ideal, this was indeed a relative success for THIS version of the T&T team. Much more is expected down the road, and more success bar-none is what we know our team can accomplish.
But for know, we laid a good foundation. A decent start (unlike Castro's...ummmm Cuba's 6-1 drubbing...lol)
-
And allyuh know how I felt about the ATTITUDE of KJ and KD. Well I am glad to see the fight in both players . . especially KJ
Yeah KJ play!
He aint have all that composure in 1 on 1, but he was winning nearly every ball in the air, using his strength nicely and coming back and taking possession from mexico in midfield. He performed!
Daniel was cut out for that dog-eat-dog midfield role tonight...but when he was going forward with the ball in midfield or had possession in mexico half, he looked the most dangerous.
I proud of the guys! Well done!

Rel waggonist talk. Men in post in years then suddenly come out of a hole to talk shit. Unrealistic expectations on a team that trying to find its way again. We overachieve as far i concerned making it this far.
-
Proud performance, but no sub until the 88th minute?!! An earlier sub gives us a chance to advance. Our boys were tired.
-
Is it just me, or does Abu Bakr look like Dexter Skeene's long lost son? Somebody post some photos so we can compare!!

Sad to see us lose it at the 83rd-84th minute. I was wondering why SH didn't make subs earlier but TBH, I couldn't think of anyone on the bench who could have come on and been a real game changer. I wonder if he was hoping to make it to extra time, put out more defensive subs and roll the dice on penalties.
I felt we looked good passing around the ball but we lacked the bite at the end and we became all too predictable as the final option almost always was a long ball to KJ. Although our transition from defense to attack was faster that in the ES game, we were still slower than the Mexicans and resorting to the long ball didn't really work. I thought that Glenn should have taken the chance to run at the defense a bit more especially seeing that KJ usually attracted multiple defenders whenever he moved. Maybe Molino would have helped speed up our attack and provide more creativity.
Considering SH had 2-3 weeks with the team prior to the tournament, this is a much improved performance compared to those of the recent past. Hopefully we can build from here as he has time to really settle in and scout out players.

The Trini people I know prefer to sit at the head of the table, even if it's not their table. I admit that I'm extremely guilty of that...being a real critic.
But the team changed my mind with the Honduras display...I saw a spark of something special that was missing from my Warriors/STRIKE SQUAD (Yes, I still say 'Strike Squad'...lol) for ages. We're on our way back. If anything, people here are optimistic about our team's future.
Stay tuned, eh. :beermug: :beermug: :beermug:

We could have been better.
And the coach didnt make any subs because we simply did not have the depth. Obviously when the goal scored something drastic had to be done.
Which was on my mind too when the subs came late......so why he bother at that point??....*shrugs*
Suppose the game had gone into extra time?

That "american" actually coach Birchall for 2 seasons... I think he has a much better understanding of his abilities than anybody on this forum.

We missed Hyland and Molino today, Going forward we need a midfielder that can take the ball from defence to attack, positive signs from this performance. I thought the subs should have been used earlier
Thanks for the effort T&T.

In our last WCQ campaign Otto Pfister had him playing as a left-back.

Boys played well. Impressive game against a squad like Mexico.
Defensively, they're very strong. They need work on the offense. Can't depend on Jones all the time, he's not that great at making runs. Glenn isn't that in form. We needed other options aside from Molino.

Thanks Firebrand but personally I find we wasting him on de left.

I am happy with the way the team played. Given SH had only a few weeks of prep time, no warm up games etc, I am proud of the way we handled ourselves. Yes we need to improve, but SH has done a very good job so far and I am proud of the boys...

I am happy to have had the opportunity to see the game game live..it was quite an experience. It was a creditable performance by the players and the coaching staff. Tactically we looked up to the challenge.. at the end of the day players of more quality win football matches (most of the time).
I give credit to Mr Hart, Mr Beenhaaker, Mr Charles and Mr King for there concerted effort. The way I see it we should have made better use of set plays, other than that I have no complaints.
I could understand the reason for not making a change sooner because there wasn't anything in the reserve that could have made any difference to the outcome.
Where do we go from here? I feel we should be looking for attacking players who could take on defenders and run at them with pace.
We need attacking players in the style of Warren Archibald, Steve David, Leonson Lewis, Roderick Gibbs...If we had just one forward like that ..the game would have been different.
All in all a creditable performance..I thought that the overall composure of the team was immaculate.
Fitness on the other had was below the level..but that's understandable because many of the players don't play in top leagues.
Men of the match Jan Michael, Cornell Glenn, Kenwyn Jones and Keon Daniel.

Having a good showing will not only help build the confidence of the players, it will also help with players of dual nationality giving them a reason to choose T&T. Some players have turned down the chance at playing for T&T and given how deep our football had sunk it was understanable. With JW gone, and a very credible performance by the team and staff, we may be able to influence those players on the fence, as long as they commited to playing and willing to play 110%, I will be happy. It seems our football finally rising out of the ashes, after being in the dumps since 2006. Thank God men like Scamps, JW are not involved in out football anymore.

What coache like you had a change of heart in the dome??? I actually agree with you here, I thought also Cyrus played well and could be added to your list. Boucaud didn't look too bad either. I was happy with the performance given circumstances we faced since 06, well done warriors, salute!

Just got back from vacation; missed the game but heard the score and been reading comments. Just want to offer my congratulations on a respectable showing and forging the road back to respectably for our football. Who would have predicted this another ago and considering the showing gambits one on the regions giants. Well done

Fuh real, yuh know I watching the game and was thinking a player like Nick DeLeon would've been a good option to add a spark in our offense given players like Molino, Hyland, Peltier, Guerra, etc were unavailable. We just need a little more depth of quality players to select from.
-
To make our mark in Concacaf we need to identify with-in the depths that there is a need to standardize everything that a football manager must assess, the quality and talent of players that are available to build and to blend a pattern around that. There is a need to stabilise and establish our pattern of play with specific features of our territory including teams with-in the national fold with an objective in mind "sports oriented intellectual" to ensure and to identify with our culture with recognation for success nationwide. Always maintained the approach to the game dictated by the quality of the talent available infuse it with the central elements of our game as they see fit clearly with the intent for a measure of successful results with-in our style of play.

We could have been better.
And the coach didnt make any subs because we simply did not have the depth. Obviously when the goal scored something drastic had to be done.
Which was on my mind too when the subs came late......so why he bother at that point??....*shrugs*
Suppose the game had gone into extra time?
I think Hart was gambling.

Cyrus is sooooo sloooowwww.
Joke of the yr. :rotfl: :rotfl: :yellowcard:
cyrus faster than hoyte fella, as ah matter of fact he's probably the fastest man on the team. what you're seeing could be fatigue, that does make horses run slow, never mid ppl.
-
we missed a game changer on the side.
Yeh, and we have like about seven of them.
peltier,
jaggy,
hyland
molino
hector
cato
guerra.
defenders that could have made a difference.
julius james
primus
bateau
JLLoyd.

It's the first time I have watched TT play a football match for a long time and haven't cussed every 5 or 6 minutes,I admired the way our boys fought for every ball, that was especially pleasing to me.The boys fought to the end and never let their heads drop,Mexico is a powerhouse and not just any wishy washy team that we lost 1-0 to and that goal came in the 84th minute.I feel we would have taken them into extra time and who knows, maybe win on penalties,Mexico might have been the most relieved team in the world. We played without 3 first choice players so who knows what could have been,I feel we are on the road to recovery after all the adverse internal wars that all but brought our football to it's knees,we showed that we can also be a resilient bunch and if anybody is in doubt then Mexico knows better.
Well done boys and all the best for the future.

Watched a re-run of the match. Seems to be an own goal scored by Abu Bakr, shot was going wide
-
great effort by the boys....and the staff.
cant wait to see a home game...

Wishes and wants the question should be how do we develop players to this level?

I don't think that Mexican goal was luck, that was precision and skill. He executed the right technique and touch to place the ball in the far post past the keeper. If any thing Bakr should've closed him down sooner but I'm sure he was tired with all the pressure we were absorbing.
-
it was calerly a miss kick by the mexican
David and roberts fault for initially offering too much space from a thrown in and Abu Bakr fault for not being tight enough.

Miss kick??? Dat was a clinical finish, perfect touch to get the right spin.

Get your eyes checked. The player was attempting to side foot it. If he struck it the way he wanted it either gets blocked or saved, instead it came off the what looked to be the side of his heel. Even mexicans admit it was a lucky finish. So stop with all this clinical nonsense.

Well I really have to get my eyes fixed because it looked to me like that what the striker meant to do but if you say the Mexican players admitted it was lucky then so be it. Like if you attempt and score those kinds of goals now best you go and buy a lottery ticket.

Excellent interview by Bleedah. Didn't realize he was so articulate.....and ah not suggesting by any means that I thought he was some kinda dunce or something. It's just that what he said and how he said it was very impressive IMO.
Just based on that little snippet, I can understand how he would hold a leadership position in the team.
