Manager Dick Campbell completed the signing of vastly experienced defenders Marvin Andrews and Darren Dods prior to yesterday’s opening pre-season joust with Turriff United.
Marvin with over 100 caps for his native Trinidad in the locker has been feature of the Scottish game since he joined Raith Rovers in 1997. He then moved to Livingston in a deal worth £50,000 to the Starks Park club.
From Livingston it was on to Ibrox where he became an iconic figure with the Rangers faithful.
Hamilton Accies, Queen of the South and last season at Albion Rovers have been his other ‘ports of call’ in his career north of the border and he certainly turned in a few sterling displays for the Coatbridge side against the ‘Loons’ last term.
For Darren this will be his 22nd season in senior football. Edinburgh based he gave six seasons of sterling service to both Hibernian and St. Johnstone, before moving north to Inverness for a three season stint with Caley Thistle.
From there it was on to Tannadice, prior to joining Falkirk where he has spent the last two campaigns.
Having been released by the new management team at Falkirk, Darren was ‘on the radar’ of quite a few part-time outfits and the Station Park management team were delighted when he eventually decided to move to the ‘Loons’ following further discussion last week.
