We cyah buy goals!
Just called the official distributor of T&T kits in Trinidad and they 'haven't released' the new kit and 'sold out' of the old one. Anybody who tried to buy a T&T kit recently would realize that that is the official song, and T&T fans can't even buy our own kit. This is not a real team we supporting. This is a shell business for marketing certain pro league players (akin to how certain people who cyah drive no ass does pass the drivers' test). Imagine things so bad we looking back at the Tim Kee reign as the good old days.
It looks like theres a new sponsor, called Capelli sport. Looks like a company out of Germany. Just saw a post from the TTFA with Capelli sport tagged.
Standing on its own, the idea of a combine in the US is a good one. I hope Stern finds a player or three to his liking.
However, those of us who have long called for the maintenance of a database of eligible players would suggest that the logistics of any such camp should be driven by the data, not by the tail wagging the dog.
Yes, better to do something rather than nothing, but this something could have been conceived without regard to who would coach the squad.
If we look at the symptoms and drill down, we'll find that this 11th hour nod to foreigners is essentially another manifestation of a rotten core at the HQ of football.
We need more players and fast to gel with what we have. A creative midfielder to complement Hyland's bustling, a few more defenders and a striker. Lawrence mentioned in his last interview when announcing the squad for this friendly that he's looking to recruit players from abroad and there should be two more in addition to Frenderup that should join by the turn of the year. I had a look earlier and noticed that Ryan Innis is now listed as a TnT national. Hopefully he's one of many to join up https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ryan-inniss/profil/spieler/183284
Realistically USL is probably at the same level as pro league in terms of quality? So they may be seeing it as a like for like switch for a local goalkeeper.
You really think so? And we have some much players playing there who does get pick?
By that I mean, they don't seem to struggle to make the "step up" etc. They seem to just ease right into it. So I'm guessing that it's similar to what they are accustomed to.
Yeah but that is still outfield players from Trinidad. Is not like TTFA scouting the USL in search of players with Trini heritage like they do in Europe etc.
