W Connection starlet Britto off to Turkey.
W Connection Release.

It seems to be trial season at W Connection as they have sent yet another player abroad. Young striker Jerrel Britto departed Piarco International Airport today, bound for Turkish Division 2 team Adanaspor on a ten (10) day trial.

This is his first overseas trial since signing with W Connection in 2011 and he has been an outstanding player during the early league games and First Citizens Cup.

He is a regular member of the National Under 23 Squad and is excited at the opportunity to showcase his talents in Europe.

Jerrel will arrive in Turkey at 10 pm tomorrow Turkish time, then travel to the southern city of Adana the following day and will immediately hit the training pitch.

The club is eight points off the pace behind league leaders Elazigspor who are on 30 points in the Turkish second division half way through the season with 18 games to go, and is seeking to strengthen their squad in order to push for promotion during the second half.

Seems like positive news is starting to flow again. Hopefully a couple of these moves (birchall to rangers, britto to turkey) can happen. Our football needs something to be excited about again.

Jerrel played his first practice game at 3:30 pm Turkey time today which is 9:30 am Trini time.
Adanaspor won 6-0. Britto scored 3.

FIFA-wise we’re ranked higher than them, but head-to-head they have the edge on us. We’ve played 20 times, won 6, lost 8, and drawn 6. Our last three matches with them has been draws.

According to these statistics, the Guatemalan league is ranked 64th in the world and the T&T Pro League is ranked 135th:

Connection has a good group of players coming up. Hopefully they can do big things in the next couple of years, however without 3-4 of their best players next season I fear for their champions League campaign. Hopefully they don't embarrass themselves.

Good move for him. Guatemala are about our level in terms of National team, they're probably a little better imo. Their league is better though; more consistent pay days, higher attendances, and possibly better players.
