He needs to earn money in his career and the MLS 1) doesn't pay that well and 2) is inordinately hard to get into given its quality

The MLS pays much more the the PL and others from TT less talented have gotten in.
The GC was a great showpiece for TT players. Cyrus was one of the discoveries of that tournament.

WC may be selling players regularly and I applaud them for developing new young talent. But when you sell like that, you end up like those third div. clubs in England, grooming players for bigger clubs and spinning your wheels. This is one of the reasons we are a non factor in the Con. Club Championships.

VB
What you are saying there makes a bit of sense but what i will say to you is lets look at the history of T&T Football, our players have always been sold why we always have problems for our players when we need them, with the exception of one or maybe two occasions our clubs have ever done well in Con. Club Championships.

These guys are full time professionals and at the end of the day they need something to show for it,how long their career last is anyones guess, the guys in the Army/Police are set when their playing days are over but what about the rest, the Football world is not an easy one and unless you have a Godfather like what Mr Williams is trying to do Crapaud smoke your pipe.

Check what going on,these guys resorting to Minor League Footbal because they frustrated playing Football here, they want more of a challenge to better themselves.

BBC just did an article on the FIFA ranking points - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-25134584

Definitely need higher tanking matches :)
Just my quriousity, what's the problem with us getting one of the top dogs in world Football to come to our country for a friendly game,  i'm talking about Brazil,Germany,Holland,Argentina,Italy etc etc ah know JW out smart England and got them to come here but is that something the TTFA has on the burner?

It seems to me like Connection have no problem with getting contracts for their players,it does not matter what time of the season or year they still doing well,Williams prove he was on the right track when he was criticize for sending players to Vietnam, other clubs think it's better to hold players to win Trophys/money but is this better for the player or the club? I think the policy that William's has is a win win situation for both club and player because he seeks the interest of players.

Doh like de nickname fuh dis team

Agreed. Sounds too novelty like..

Based on my research, this team actually has a good chance of making the WC. It will be them fighting Costa Rica for the 3rd spot. There is also a playoff for the 4th place team. I think the hex will look like this.. If there is a hex:

USA
MEX
T&T/CR
HAI
GUA/JAM

TT has a decent set of NCAA players. Also, many of the girls played in the under 17 WC in 2010. Taking this into consideration.. TT may even be better than CR on paper. Dont be surprised if TT women make history.

What kind of research you did and you talking about being better than CR on paper,Breds forget research and lets deal with reality.

Its obvious you glanced over my comment. I said "TT may even be better than CR on paper". The keyword here is "may"..Its called figurative language Coops..  You make it sound as if CR is far ahead of TT. In fact, they are not. CR and TT are on the same level. Check the last Gold cup campaign, Check the current ranking, etc.. You will see there is not much that separates TT and CR.

Regardless, this is probably their best ever chance to make the WC. We will see how they fare in the 2014 Gold cup.
I hear you, what i'm trying to say is how prepared are we?from the initial report all the countries involved are way ahead in their preparation for this qualifying round,it doesn't matter where we are in rankings.

The women teams in general get the short end of the stick. If by a fluke we get to host the women's WC that will change, but otherwise is guava season for the senior women's team. When will it end.
Deeks, Women's Football needs it's own office, admin,Secretary,Technical Director etc etc TTFA can't afford that,i remember when Dr Iva Glouden was in charge things used to look organized, one thing good about the Women's program they assit players with scholarships,is years now Coaches have been the scapegoats for the admin shortcomings.

What happened to Caledonia? They played well in the cups last year
I think this year Cali have been going through some problems with players not wanting to train etc etc the normal thing with our players too much big boys, they have been doing too well and may be don't know how to deal with the success they have had,may be they need new management.

From what i'm reading here this does not sound good at all,we already start off on the wrong foot and is Marlon and Corneal going to be blamed for everything in the end.

Imagine all those other teams are deep in preparation for this tournament and we just doing some training four times a week without the majority of the women who going to actually play. It's WC qualification we talking about, look how the men start putting things in place and they looking at 2018,these women suppose to be ready for next year and nothing is being done as yet.

Again is the women may be it's not important, when was the last time these women played together, they will get a couple games/tournaments before the qualifying tournament and tell themselves they ready.

Tiresais, personally i feel if Football made money we would not have the problems we having. How long Football going to depend on Government and sponsorship to survive, everybody putting out and nothing coming back in.

Imagine we have development programs that can't get started because of money,Harford just gave up on the Super league money problems, our Technical staff and Coaches i don't think get paid yet (money),we struggling to send our teams to tournaments (money),we just got money for the FA which was in doubt, what about our administrative staff who pays them (TTFA),i'm not sure but i think the TTFA pays for the use of those stadiums/parks etc etc

Imagine how different the leagues would be if they'd not have bothered building all these useless huge stadiums across the place and invested in the grass-roots infrastructure :(

I can't reason with what u saying here, what u mean by "useless huge stadiums" ? first of all there was many reasons for these stadiums when they were built eg we could not have held a WC and we may not have had a Pro League.

I don't know how long u around but international Football and North/South used to be played in front the Grand Stand,it then went to the Oval,King George V Pk,Skinner Pk.Although we used to have huge crowds because Trinis love they Football,we always hoped for the day when we can watch and play Football some where like the rest of the world does.

We are often looked upon as backward, it would be a huge talking point if we did not have those stadiums eg the level of Football we play, hosting teams/games for countries that want to play here, what about other sports that didn't have a home to host there activities etc etc

I agree they could have invested in the Grass roots infrastructure because it used to have more leagues in the past than they do today,it had two leagues in South, one in the East,Central,POS and North plus the Colleges league.

Crouch had a sweet assist in this game to Nzonzi.
I think the only solace KJ has is that all Stoke's strikers are woeful.
Crouch starting to play good lately. So I eh know. West Ham need somebody.
Why is it every time a club has to move somebady is always KJ?how many clubs has he played for since he in England? you all don't think if he's not moved that much and settle down with a club for two three seasons he could have been a better player? i find mentally his situations are not good for a player, the reajustments and by time he reajusts it's time to move.

Definitely a star to invest in. FS/Sancho and co. .... buy the guy! Borrow the money if yuh have to and pay for him. You have no choice!!
Now is the time to make your move and carry Central FC to the next level.
Alyu still looking at that Video? the guy here and Central trains/play every day, they have Tryouts for the U18 team,i guess there are lots of options to look at the guy and make a decision one way or the other. Now always take into consideration that decision rests with Fenwick.I don't know about "Borrow the money" ???

Don't think Coops quite grab the contract business, and honestly, I don't know much, as far as TT pro league either....do youhave short terms, monthly, yearly, by seasons...multiyear ?  10 days ? Please give a few examples
U are quite correct i don't quite grab the contract business i'm not quite versed in it.What i do know was the situation Roopie ended up in the last time he was here,NE wanted him to train/play with the club in the Pro League and they were told that he could not by Dexter Skeene for reasons having to do with i think Transfers, eligibility, contract etc etc from my knowledge FIFA have set guidelines pertaining to that.
Some people think the guy is good enough because it was unfair when Eve did not give him an option to Tryout for the National Youth team or i think he tried out and did not make it,i'm glad Central is looking out for him.

Football / Re: Roopie is back in Trinidad ??
« on: November 24, 2013, 01:40:55 PM »
What can we expect from this ?

If he is back a lot can be expected,i think he should be much more matured as a player, the guys who were interested in him when they were with NE can add him to their Roster at Central since they still need players, under our new Coach every one is being looked at,so the timing and options good right now.My hope is that he will not have the problems he had the last time, eligibility, transfer, contract issues etc etc

Sounds simple eh? Who do we get rid of to make room? Winchester? Quintero? Marcano?  Roopie is trying out with Central, but the reality is that Fenwick will not just evaluate him on his ability, but also if his budget can justify his inclusion. Even if Roopie is better than the next man, the next man has a contract until May, so you can't just tell him to go away. I hope Roopie is all that we all hope for, but we have no room for luxury players, so he has to earn his keep!

He came to help out with today's youth trials and took a run with the U18's in preparation for joining the team tomorrow. As usual, he had some nice touches.
Breds i mentioned you all because of what went on the last time he was here, people put Skeene and Angus Eve under a lot of pressure for different reasons,i thought he would be good enough this time around to make a Pro team and play in the Pro league.

Since you all have no room for him why don't you offer his services to another team that needs a player of his quality.

Guys this is what we have, this is our own,all other countries does big up their Coaches they don't pull them down like we do ours and still want results, all kind of foreign Coaches does come here and get credit for them,i've worked abroad and have met many Foreign Coaches who have dealt with T&T players and all u does here from them is the high praise for the quality of players coming from T&T,T&T don't big up anybody not even their own players, you hear what Sam say "they have born talent" i myself didn't know that, imagine i now hearing Anthony Street is a descent Coach after he struggled with St Ann's Rangers for years.

ah dare yuh to name Balotelli or Gotze or Messi or Ronaldo youth coach

Lawd man, youth coaches at the highest level hardly ever get public recognition, yuh expectin T&T to lead de way in this?

If yuh gettin into coaching looking for recognition, yuh in de wrong profession. De high profile ones does be hired jes to get fired. The others at youth level etc do so in anonymity.

Ah betting de average Everton fan cannot name their first team coach.

Nothing wrong with bigging up de youth coaches in Trinbago. They certainly merit it. But doh complain if they too work in anonymity.
Palos all i'm saying is give some credit for the work local Coaches are doing with these youngsters, all you does hear is when this one and that one get them and take all the credit for making them the players they are,we have all kind of Coaching school and Academy all over this country doing good work, players don't appear out of the blues, what we are seeing today is the fruits of the work local Coaches have done with these youngsters over the years, they need some encouragement to continue what they are doing.

Some how when i look at these youngsters that coming through i don't hear nothing about the Local Coaches in both Trinidad and Tobago who actually nurtured these guys, our Coaches don't get credit for nothing, the clubs, the national Youth teams, the SSFL etc imagine the talent it have in Tobago Central getting the credit for it,Granville/Bertill tried all them years with those players.

I'm not sure but were these players on Youth teams coached by Anton,Eve,Shabazz,Laforest,LaFoucade etc etc our teams don't do well but there must be something good these guys were doing.
