Liverpool have a squad of new guys who are trying to gel together under Rodgers system. Its gonna take some time. I remain optimistic for this season hopefully we can achieve another champions league spot. Team chemistry isn't built up in a day. It'll come guys don't worry.

With the setback to Sturridge, Balotelli has a bit more weight on his shoulders.

henderson is out as well. i'd put sterling up in sturridge's place and start markovic on that left side, and give lallana his debut, later on in the game. as for henderson i'd put emre can there. we should be ok against aston villa.

edit: just saw the starting lineup for todays game and henderson is playing.  ??? this morning there were articles stating that he was injured

Group F is probably the toughest... followed by B then D.  City's only tough opponent in that list would be Bayern.  Nothing against Roma and Moscow.

Bakes you kidding. Basel is a potential banana skin but you really counting that group as a group of death. Come nah man.

I never used the words "Group of Death"... for me a tough group is any group where at least three teams pose a problem.  That way every team guaranteed at least two tough games, and the weak link, three tough games.  By that metric, if you still want to argue with my assessment, then by all means, I'm willing to hear it.  Basel has a well-earned reputation for being giant-killers.  Maybe now that Shaqiri and a couple others have moved on to bigger clubs they're not as much a threat, but until I see otherwise, I am not looking past them.

Well I disagree. You ent say group of death but you claim is the second hardest group.
Nah man. Allyuh supposed to take care of Basel easy. I acknowledge Basel's difficulty in my first response but you self realize they have lost a couple of their weapons. No way Group B is the second hardest IMO.

i dont consider our group to be a hard group, i really dont see basel and ludogrets a threat. though take note liverpool havent lost to real madrid in champions league football (knock on wood hope i dont jinx it  ;D ) i'd actually throw group c into the hat as well. that group is the most balanced group and in my opinion anyone can take that group. groups c, d, e, f in my mind are difficult (not in order)

Ah woe Madness! Yuh does still sweat baseball semi-pro?

lol nah ive been out for more than a year now, got a torn labrum in the shoulder.

bakes where did you guys sit? i was in the kop section 235.

Not sure which was the designated "Kop" section for the game... but we were behind the City goal in the second half, Section 109, Row 25.  From the perspective of center circle, we were in the upper left side, diagonally up from the flag. We shoulda say something here before the match, woulda been nice to link up with the other LFC forumites  :beermug:

Yea we should've let each other know we were going. I was sitting in the "kop" it was de bleacher seats filled with red you couldn't have missed it right where the pk's were taken. Nice vibes over there.

I'm actually going to London next week for the first time, I'm going to visit Liverpool as well. I've been going all over the place trying to get a ticket to the Liverpool v Chelsea game but no luck at all. Even woke up 3am to go online for the general sale.  :bs: :banginghead: :frustrated: yet I'm still going to Liverpool and take in the game at a nearby pub. Anybody have a link up for the Liverpool v Chelsea match?  ;D

You could walk around the perimeter of Anfield and you might get lucky and be able to buy one from a tout or a supporter with an extra, but (a) counterfeit tickets float around for massive matches like these, so you could spend a lot and get turned away at the turnstile, (b) the price of a ticket will be ridiculous. The going resale rate for the 2005 champions league semi was around £3,500 per ticket (I considered selling mine....for about a second then good sense prevailed!) so it's not unreasonable to think a ticket would go for £5000 or so. Watching in a nearby pub is a good option. I recommend The Arkles on Anfield Road. Just be careful though. Anfield (the area as a opposed to the stadium) isn't the safest. There are also good pubs in the city centre of Liverpool. It's far from Anfield but it's something to consider. Enjoy the trip!  :beermug:

Thanks for the tips. I most likely will end up in a pub somewhere but I'm not giving up hope just yet with the possibility of late availability tickets. Isn't the Arkles an "away" pub? For away fans? How is The Albert or The Sandon? I just want to experience the atmosphere, which I'm sure is on a whole different level than Nevada Smith's in Union Square.

Have you guys seen this thread?

Crystal Palace scares me for some reason, just as much as Chelsea....you never know. We just gotta keep this momentum going.

i feel a big rivalry coming on between bunji and machel. imo bunji have the momentum and machel playing catch up. overall, great quality coming from both sides though.

this is really sad real young fella with the whole world in front of him. it might not be a bad idea to get a friendly match to honor him, either between trinidad and hungary or w connection and ferencvaros. to raise some money for his family.

Who do you think will be a good team for us to play next as we continue our development program?

Not sure about next, but for the foreseeable short-term: Bolivia. In the medium-term: Israel.

i'd like to see trinidad play against some teams from africa. ethiopia, burkina faso, senegal, morocco, gabon or sierra leone. trinidad will get some good games out of these countries, just to name a few.

« on: July 27, 2013, 11:00:57 PM »
When i went to the training session in jersey birchy didnt look fit. We all know what he can do when he is fit. If he decides to retire from international football it'll be ok i can respect that. Birchy will go down as one of T&T's favorites and wont be forgotten. IMO i hope he doesnt we still need that "hustlers" presence in the midfield, i believe he can still do it.

136
there are teams i dont like, hate is a strong word, but you have to respect them such as usa or mexico. look at suarez on liverpool, im a liverpool fan, i dont like the guy at all but i have to respect him for what he's doing at the club.

when the world cup comes around i always backing teams like france, netherlands or any country coming out of the african continent.

as for concacaf i got a thing for costa rica, fans are pretty cool and they play decent ball.

Football / Re: Coach Hart to look for new blood.
« on: July 22, 2013, 08:30:57 AM »
I kept thinking to myself if only the moves for beenhakker and hart was only made a few months earlier, how different we couldve played, as well as getting some more time to look at other players. We couldve walked away with 9 points and still be in the tournament all now. Look at the improvement in this short period of time, imagine if we had months.

138
This lineup wouldve definitely beat el salvador and haiti.

If molino is out the next rounds boucaud should replace his position and carlos should replace boucaud place on de right. Please no theobald!!!

We were playing with we B team for the first 2 games.

I know i'm not the only one who didnt think that a B team was on the field in jersey or in miami.

For the NJ game how much did you pay for tickets in the 127 and 128 section? I'm seeing those tickets going for $127 online, before I purchase anything I want to make sure that's really to going price or if to find a scalper outside the stadium ;D

They was $75 and $60 before... price musbe raise now

FF it have any left over tickets for NJ? If not, i most likely will be in sec 112 across de field from allyuh. Its been a real long time since i see alyuh fellas.

funny you say that, my father was saying that when we were watching the estonia game. he kept telling me T&T football back in the day was something fun to watch, always had you laughing when a man get beats.

carlos probably the last one we have. i wouldve thought tinto to be a dribbler, lost the ball too much though (where is he btw?)
