Australia has been bowled out for 318 in reply to the West Indies' first innings total of 148.

Adam Voges, batting at number 5 made the majority of his unbeaten 130 with the tail which had quite a sting.

The last two wickets yielded 140 runs.

This could be morale-sapping to say the least from the West Indies' point of view.

Let's see how the Windies respond

I think you will agree, they responded in their customary inept way.
If this game goes past tea tomorrow, I will be surprised. It would
not surprise me if it doesn't go by lunch.
Lloyd and co. wanted youth, well, youth will probably be taught
a lesson inside of 3 days.
The Windies is to cricket, what Austin J Warner is to the rest of
the world, the laughing stock!

The match swung Australia's way when the last four Australian wickets added close to 200 runs. When Australia's no. 11 can score 39, you know that the West Indies were really up against it.

Our bowlers are also under-performing, with Bishoo's efforts in Australia's first innings being the exception.

Ramdin's captaincy was also negative and uninspired in the face of Australia's massive rearguard batting.

We need a genuine fifth bowler. We had these men at around 190/8 and they made over 300.

Bravo anyone??

Lack of depth in the attack isn't the problem; if the bowlers were good enough to get the top 8 out they should be good enough to get the last 2. I blame poor tactics......we seem to lose the plot when we feel  we have a team against the ropes. We abandon the approach which brought success against the top order and adopt all manner of bullshit tactics that make you wonder if these fellas have any brain at all..

Bravo, pollard, Simmons and Narine need to be in the test team.. That is the lack of depth that is missing

Simmons has to earn it. Due to KP's lack of FC games I would observe him for TT or have him train with the team.

The mistake they made is not having Simmons train as the back up 'keeper.

In the past 20 yrs...please shed some light on other mistakes you think they have made.

'
The backup 'keeper for whom? West Indies or T&T?   Every territory in the region has a front-line specialist  'keeper; Simmons is not even a backup 'keeper for the backup 'keeper in the T&T setup....it would be nigh impossible for him to seal a place in the test team as a 'keeper when there are specialist 'keepers in the region to fill that spot.
As far as 'keepers go, the only person I can see displacing Ramdin from that test spot ( which he may be in danger of losing if he doesn't contribute with the bat more often) is Dowrich...
Simmons may have a role to play in the test team, but as a specialist batsman.

All this talk about Simmons... Remember SIMMONS IS RETIRED FROM TEST CRICKET!!! Also Bravo.... And Pollard has taken a break from the 4 day format! Narine still needs to get comfortable with his action.

Simmons can keep, bowl spin and medim pace.

They never asked him to focus on it and he never tried as he is more than capable of making the team as a batsman.

Dujon and Jacobs were not specialist keepers. In fact Jacobs was a specialist opening batsman.
