Jabloteh hold off Rangers recovery.
By: Lasana Liburd (tnttimes.com).

Blink San Juan Jabloteh will compete for the Toyota Classic Competition crown next Friday but, once more, their progress lacked polish.

Jabloteh’s semifinal match up against St Ann’s Rangers looked a foregone conclusion for much of the evening with only the margin of victory in doubt.

Yet, for the closing seconds, Jabloteh defenders were hacking the ball away clumsily as Rangers pulled within one sweet strike of a penalty shoot out at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Macoya.

Jabloteh coach Earl Jean moaned about the difficulty of getting his players to focus on their jobs and there is clearly still much work to be done.

For 80-plus minutes, the “San Juan Kings” were easily superior. Playmaker Ataullah Guerra was piercing the Rangers defence at will with his clever passes. Noel Williams stomped around gleefully like an unrestrained child at the mall. Marvin Oliver kept turning up, presumably uninvited, in prime real estate around the opposing penalty area.

Jabloteh were a goal up in just 54 seconds and doubled their lead in the eighth minute. For the opener, Williams charged down the left channel, ignored a better placed Oliver and drove past the immobile Rangers goalkeeper Javan Seegobin.

Wonder if Latapy was at the game scouting any players (Guerra) or I forgot, Sam said he was on vacation.   :rotfl:

Glad to see Lasana put the goal scorers and their times this time around.

And I am waiting to hear some men complain about the report and say it negative when all he did was write it the way he saw it.

For real weary, who won the other game ?

Would have liked to see Rangers win something.
