Hector Sam to decide on future
Wrexham Evening Leader

Hector Sam jets back next week ready to give Wrexham boss Denis Smith a decision on whether he’s going to stay.

Sam, who played the final 25 minutes of Trinidad and Tobago’s 2-0 World Cup qualifying defeat by Mexico last night, was offered a deal to remain at The Racecourse next season.

Sam’s agent, Mike Berry, who flew back in from The Caribbean yesterday after watching Sam, team-mate Dennis Lawrence and former Reds’ favourite Carlos Edwards play against Panama last Saturday, said: “Hector’s been offered a deal to stay. He’s back over here on June 15 and he’ll give Denis Smith a decision.”

Sam scored 12 goals for Wrexham last season – including a hat-trick in the first away game of the campaign at Oldham.

But the pacy striker spent most of the season playing second fiddle to Chris Llewellyn, Chris Armstrong and Juan Ugarte.

With Ugarte being touted by a number of clubs and Armstrong released by Smith, that could pave the way for a regular starting role for Sam.
The Conquering Lion of Judah shall break every chain.
