T&T Women Warriors will get a TT$50,000 bonus, each, as an incentive from the Government of T&T, as they head into the semi-finals of the CONCACAF qualifying round for FIFA's 2015 Women's World Cup.
The news broke this afternoon when Sports Minister, Rupert Griffith, said Cabinet had taken a decision to also give the incentive bonus to the members of the technical staff, as well.
The Warriors will face Costa Rica on Friday afternoon, in the semi final round, while the USA will meet Mexico in the double header at the PPL Park Soccer Stadium, in Pennsylvania.
In reference to the circumstances under which the team left Trinidad and Tobago, without any money, Griffith said it was no fault of his. He received the request for money, he said, when the majority of the team was on a flight on the way to the training camp in Dallas, Texas, and that he gave approval for the funds within five minutes of it reaching on his desk.
