The EPL is pretty mediocre this season. Imagine Chelsea, Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool all havin below par seasons. Big yawn. The bright light has been Spurs. Man City doin better than before but they inconsistent like the rest of them.
The competitiveness of the league is there for all to see...the last place team beat the current Champions today... it's the best league in the world at the moment... United Arsenal Chelsea are all beign tested by everyone... it's not a run away league like La Liga where every weekend its a real or barca win .. only weekend I look forward to in La Liga is when Real and Barca square off
FORZA EPL!!!
Some of the other Spanish clubs need an injection of funds to get some more parity. Madrid and Barca have the monopoly of star quality players, unlike in England where the top players are a bit more spread out...
Teams like Villarreal, Valencia and Sevilla would be serious title contenders if they had a few bigger names players...
In all honesty though, in the past 2 seasons (and so far this season as well) the gulf between Barca and Madrid, not in the standings but on the field of play itself has been as large as the gulf between Madrid and the rest of the pack... It has really become a lopsided league....and it hasn't always been like that, but money is playing a bigger and bigger role in football today, as seen with teams like Man City and Chelsea...and in Spain the money doesn't seem to be spread evenly.
Give Valencia and Villareal an open checkbook like Man City and Chelsea and the battle at the top of the table would be alot more interesting.
