Turkish football almost as is interesting as the EPL
« on: May 03, 2008, 08:05:45 AM »

So I living in the small Turk city of Sivas for the past month.
Their football team is 3rd in the league tied on points with Fernabache and they playing against Galatasray tomorrow Sunday.

Where I live is in the center of the city (so far I've found 2 bars that only sell beer of course EFES).
Anyway since Ive been here every weekend is a set ah noise and motorcades.

Well since the start of this week is round the clock bacchanal, all the businesses covered in flags and buntings an ting , is like independance week end in TT.
It actually prove to mih that yuh could get on like a wild ass for football an not have to be drunk,
The hotel manager was telling nih that this game this weekend (sunday) is probably the biggest event they ever had here apart from the Turkish revolution.
Anyhow this is how a Turkish sports journalist (note not a media officer decsribes the situation.

D-DAY IN THE TURKEY SUPER LEAGUE

The Turkcell Super League tittle chase will be on the line this Sunday in Sivas.

My "team of the year", Sivaspor will host League Leader.

A draw or a win will make Galatasaray the Champions of Turkey this season.

But, that won't be that easy.......

Sivasspor, is in third place with 70 points. Fenerbahce who is on second place also has 70 points.

A win for Sivaspor will push the D-day to the last weekend.....

That is why, this weekend is very crutual......

Defending champions Fenerbahce will be at home against Genclerbirligi.

Fenerbahce must beat Genclerbirligi to maintain the second place and carey the race to the last weekend.

This will be the most exciting weekend as Galatasaray is close to the title with 73 points beating Fenerbahce Last Sunday.

On the other hand, Manisaspor is looking for miracles to stay in the Turkcell Super League.

Because, First, they have to win this weekend and beat Besiktas in Istanbul in the last week. And than, wait for Genclerbirlgi and Konyaspor to lose their both matches..

Than, they will avoid the relegation. This will be miracle!........

Kasimpasaspor and Caykur Rizespor bite the dust already.......

Week 33rd matches, will take a start on Saturday , The most important matches in the league will be played on Sunday. All the matches will start at the same time.
The starting time is 19:00 Local Turkey time and 12:00 Noon ,ET in the North America.

Galatasaray jus equalise on Sivas ,,,, the place gone quiet quiet , better stay inside in case the score remain the same or get worse.
