Foxes swoop for goalkeeper Warner
BBC Sport

League One leaders Leicester City have signed goalkeeper Tony Warner from Hull on a month-long loan deal.

The 34-year-old, who has only played once for Hull, looks set to become the sixth player to stand in goal for the Foxes this season.

On-loan Fulham keeper David Stockdale is ruled out for Saturday's clash with Millwall with a shoulder injury.

Manager Nigel Pearson said: "Tony has played at the highest level and will be an excellent addition to our squad."

Pearson added: "He has got stacks of experience and I'm delighted we have been able to bring him on board."

Warner began his career at Liverpool and has had spells at Millwall, Cardiff and Fulham, before joining Hull in July.

Warner Rated Best Player In March

March Awards

Goalkeeper Tony Warner only needed three games to secure the Player-Ratings.com Player of the Month accolade for March. Warner was also City’s most consistent player as the team went through an erratic spell of form, and it was this consistency that helped him on his way to being voted March’s best player by the City faithful.

Jack Hobbs finished just behind in second and in some eyes will be seen as more deserving for the award after playing in every game. Tom Cleverley rounded off the top three but his month was soured by injury that saw him return to Manchester United for treatment.

Lloyd Dyer again failed to recapture the form in March that was so impressive in the first half of the season, and once again ended up with the Flop of the Month title. Joe Mattock and Andy King rounded off the bottom three.
