Title: Who is best suited to be our team captain/ Leader?
Post by: AB.Trini on June 28, 2008, 05:33:38 PM
Why is Carlos Edwards not called to captain  our team?  Which player has the most influence on the team? Which player could stand up and motivate this team to perform to a high level?

I like Carlos for de armband but probably because of what he can bring to the team and this might motivate him to return to cadillac status.  Mind you I believe Carlos is struggling these days because he is trying to much to compensate for other players on de field. He forcing it but I dont believe he wants to I think he feels like he have to.  Carlos needs to get appropriate support so he can slow his role and play his game. De second leg was better than de first leg in that respect.

I have a feeling they want to have a local-based captain, to have continuity when de foreign-based not here.

Its a tossup between Lawrance and Carlos. Both always vocal, clean tackling and delegate allot.
Even observed Lawrence erecting a wall between the Bharainians and the officials during the rumble for the equalizer in Bharain in ah protective manner. :D

How can we judge whitley's captaincy without getting insight from inside the team to hear how he is perceived?

I know that carlos has a problem with some of the players in the team and he thinks that they not good enough.

Lawerance seem a good choice but there must me a reason for whitley to be there.

Leadership cannot be taught, it is someting that has to be spotted by the manager and used for the benefit of the team.

Handling the media is someting that can be taught so i no worried about how Whitley speaks or anything like that.

The interview that people focusing w.r.t. whitley was the one when they were returning from Bermuda and they all just wanted to go home and not be in that STUPID ceremony to celebrate victory over Bermuda.

The flight was delayed for over 8 hours so all they wanted to do was go home.

ah love it!!

One of the former army men:  Carlos Edwards or Dennis Lawrence, or if Kelvin Jack come back.   Whitley is ma boy but leaders arent developed, leaders are born leaders.  And he dont strike me as one.

Smart Man that Carlos   ;)     A 5 year old would recognise the squad has some players on it that deserve to be sweating in the Savannah...not the international stage
