Some nice opening season results from our T&T athletes. New season looks exciting especially if KAB and Hackett are back and able to compete, our ladies 4x100 squad could be stronger than the Men's.

Deeks Geronne is a sprinter in the US with Trini heritage. She now runs for Trinidad. She started the indoor season well last year but I think she may have picked up a lil injury because her form didn't transfer well in the latter indoor stages and outdoors.
MLA is seemingly maturing. Let's hope she can stay healthy because I feel she can really set herself up to be a finalist in next world champs. One goal should be to consistently run sub 23 outdoors. With these 60's her start is coming now just the speed endurance. Let's hope KAB and Semoy make a speedy return because our 4x1 could be a real medal contender as we have been so close these last few years.

Does anyone know if T&T will be competing at the World Indoors?
Unless Lendore is limited by NCAA rules or important championship meets on his schedule, it seems that we have a medal contending 400m and 4x400m team with his, Lalonde Gordon's, Rene Quow's and Jarrin Solomon's form. Add Michelle Lee Ahye to the mix for a small but potent team.

That 300M race could be the highlight of any indoor race in the world this weekend.
Don't know about that, Ethiopia's Genzebe Dibaba (Tirunesh's little sister) just broke her 3rd world indoor record in the last month and almost became the first woman to go sub-9 minutes in the 2 mile. Added to that France's Renaud Lavillenie just broke Bubka's 20 year old indoor pole vault record (which incidentally is higher than his outdoor record), jumping 20' 2" on his first attempt, in Bubka's hometown of Donetsk in the Ukraine.

Lalonde leads charge at World Indoors
By Kwame Laurence kwame.laurence@trinidadexpress.com

Lalonde Gordon will lead the charge for Trinidad and Tobago at the March 7-9 IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations) World Indoor Track and Field Championships, in Sopot, Poland.
In a National Association of Athletics Administrations (NAAA) press release, yesterday, Gordon was named on a team of seven athletes selected to represent the Red, White and Black in Poland.
Gordon, a double bronze medallist at the 2012 London Olympics, is at the top of the 2014 world indoor performance list in the men’s 400 metros with a 45.17 seconds clocking.
Gordon is expected to compete in the 400m in Sopot. Either Jereem Richards or Jarrin Solomon will be the other T&T athlete in that event.
Gordon, Richards, Solomon, Ade Alleyne-Forte and Emanuel Mayers have been named for the men’s 4x400m relay.
Michelle-Lee Ahye, who equalled the national women’s 60m record of 7.13 seconds in grabbing gold at the Millrose Games in New York, USA on the weekend, will face the starter in that event in Sopot. Geronne Black has also been selected for the women’s 60m.
TEAM
World Indoor
Men–Lalonde Gordon (400m, 4x400m), Jereem Richards (400m, 4x400m), Jarrin Solomon (400m, 4x400m), Ade Alleyne-Forte (4x400m), Emanuel Mayers (4x400m)
Women–Michelle-Lee Ahye (60m), Geronne Black (60m)
Manager–Paul Voisin, Coach–Charles Joseph
Is Rene Quow injured or just passing on this one?
What's up with Machel Cedenio this year?
I guess with Lendore at school we won't have a full complement for Penn Relays or the World Relay Champs.
-
It is good to try a few fringe athletes for Penn and World Relays. We know what our core 400m men an do. Let's see how deep this team can be.
-
Naaa please explain the picking of jereem richards for the World indoors. He is now at South plains junior college where there is a great 400m program. Would it not be more beneficial for his development to let him train instead of heading him off to world indoors.
-
why not zwede hewitt who has finished school.

They would not have picked him unless he made himself available. As can be seen at Carifta Games and Penn Relays, some schools (D1, D2, JC), coaches, or athlete situations allow them to represent country during the competition season. Some athletes may be scholastically ineligible and/or red-shirted for a particular semester/quarter and need to compete "out of school" to stay sharp.

Alleyne-Forte warms up with 400 win (http://www.trinidadexpress.com/sports/Alleyne-Forte-warms-up-with-400-win-246974121.html)
By Kwame Laurence kwame.laurence@trinidadexpress.com
Story Created: Feb 24, 2014 at 8:33 PM ECT
Trinidad and Tobago quarter-miler Ade Alleyne-Forte warmed up for the March 7-9 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Sopot, Poland with victory at the Virginia Tech Challenge indoor meet in Virginia, USA, on Saturday.
Alleyne-Forte clocked 48.31 seconds to secure top spot in the men’s 400 metres, beating American Christopher Tate (48.39) into second.
Alleyne-Forte trailed Tate at the end of the first lap. The T&T athlete produced a 22.84 seconds 200-metre split, while the American’s split was 22.75. Alleyne-Forte, however, was the stronger of the two athletes in the second half of the race, his 25.47 seconds effort taking him home ahead of Tate (25.64).
Alleyne-Forte has been selected as part of a five-member T&T men’s 4x400m squad for the World Indoors meet. The other four athletes on the mile relay squad are Lalonde Gordon, Jereem Richards, Jarrin Solomon and Emanuel Mayers.
Gordon, the 2014 indoor 400m world leader at 45.17 seconds, will compete in that event in Sopot. Either Richards or Solomon will also face the starter in the individual 400.
Also doing battle for T&T in Sopot will be Michelle-Lee Ahye and Geronne Black in the women’s 60m dash.
Jessica James grabbed women’s 600m gold for Iowa Central Community College at the NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association) Region XI Indoor Championships, in Iowa, USA, on the weekend. The T&T athlete returned a time of one minute, 35.11 seconds.
At the Panther TuneUp indoor meet, in Wisconsin, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee senior Durell Busby topped the men’s 60m field in 6.95 seconds.
In New Jersey, Chelsi Campbell finished second in the Princeton Indoor Invite women’s 500m event. The University of Delaware student clocked 1:17.47.
And two Saturdays ago, Shawna Fermin got home in 54.36 seconds to strike gold in the women’s 400m at the Pomona-Pitzer All Comers outdoor meet, in California.

Why wasn't Lenode named to the T&T World Indoor T&F team? He was not listed in the news reports I saw and no explanation was given. Am I mistaken?
-
No he has not been named, but maybe A/M decided they need him more than we do, and I believe that your college coach has say over what meets you go to when the season is active.
-
Why wasn't Lenode named to the T&T World Indoor T&F team? He was not listed in the news reports I saw and no explanation was given. Am I mistaken?
You would think that with all the depth we have in the 400m, we should have a team in the mens 4x400.
6th fastest time in history is huge for Lendore. He should run the magical sub 45 soon.
-
Why wasn't Lenode named to the T&T World Indoor T&F team? He was not listed in the news reports I saw and no explanation was given. Am I mistaken?
Texas A&M is paying the man way and training him. In addition, college coaches salary and job depend on the following as priority (i) placing of the program in the NCAAs (indoors and outdoors); (ii) placement of the program within the conference (indoors and outdoors); (iii) number of individual champions at NCAA and conference meets; (iv) placement against arch rivals (in champs or dual meets).
With SEC champs (this weekend) and NCAA indoor champs (March 13/14) so close to the World Indoors (next weekend), the latter becomes a no-go. If the government or NAAA were hypothetically paying for his scholarship then there would be an argument and ratonale for him to go.

The provisional start list for the WIC came out this morning, and we do not have a 4x400m male team on the list. Hmmm...
From Saturday's newspaper:
No T&T 400m relay team for World Indoors
Published:
Saturday, March 1, 2014
National runner Jereem Richards has opted out of his place on the 4x400 metres relay team for the upcoming International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Indoor Championships, leaving management with little choice but to deduce the national contingent to four athletes.
Due to Richards’ withdrawal, Lalonde Gordon, who will compete in the 400m event, has asked to be excused from the 4x400 relay because of groin muscle problems. “Running three rounds of the individual event then two rounds of the relay may be too much for the athlete,” said the National Association of Athletics Administrations (NAAA) in a press release.
Along with Gordon, Jarrin Solomon will also challenge the 400m event. Michelle-Lee Ahye and Geronne Black will both feature in the 60m event. The last member of the entourage is coach and manager Paul Voisin. The IAAF World Indoor Championship will take place in Soport, Poland, from March 7-9.
A medal may be hard to come by depending on Gordon's true fitness/injury concern. Lee Ahye will have to outdo her best to medal with the likes Ahoure, Shelly-Ann Fraser and the Americans in the mix

Your explanation is logical and reasonable. So why can't the NAAA inform the public of the reason for the omission? Communication with the public and fans is always a problem with our organizations.

Lendore delivers
Strikes NCAA gold in 400m (http://www.trinidadexpress.com/sports/Lendore-delivers-250562061.html)
By Kwame Laurence kwame.laurence@trinidadexpress.com
Story Created: Mar 17, 2014 at 1:03 AM ECT
Deon Lendore lived up to his billing as favourite, striking gold in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division 1 Indoor Track and Field Championship men’s 400 metres event, in New Mexico, USA, late on Saturday.
The Trinidad and Tobago quarter-miler produced a fast 45.21 seconds clocking to capture the title, forcing Americans Vernon Norwood (45.46) and Arman Hall (45.52) to settle for silver and bronze, respectively.
Lendore was also tipped for top honours in the 400m at the 2013 Championships, but was hampered by a calf injury, and finished sixth in the finals. The Texas A&M University student made up for that disappointment on Saturday, capturing the title with an impressive run.
“Being a national champion is the best feeling there is,” said Lendore. “You work so hard to reach the top. When you get there you have to work twice as hard to stay on top, because staying on top is the hardest thing to do. I’m willing to work and do all that needs to be done to be an outdoor national champion as well.”
Wayne Davis II bagged bronze in the men’s 60m hurdles, the T&T/Texas A&M athlete getting to the line in 7.61 seconds. A silver medallist in the event last year, Davis finished third this time around, behind Jamaican Omar McLeod, the winner in 7.58, and US Virgin Islands athlete Eddie Lovett, who also clocked 7.58.
“It’s unacceptable for me to finish third,” said a disappointed Davis. “I didn’t really do what I needed to do out there. I got too close to one of the hurdles and that’s when they got ahead. It’s just really me being able to stay away from those hurdles when I’m ahead or doing well. If I can do that, then the race should be mine.”
Penn State University junior, Steve Waithe disturbed the sand at 15.81 metres to finish sixth in the men’s triple jump.
And in the women’s 800m, another T&T athlete, University of Minnesota’s Alena Brooks was seventh in two minutes, 08.31 seconds.
T&T’s Janeil Bellille produced a 52.22 seconds split on the third leg to help Texas A&M earn bronze in the women’s 4x400m in 3:31.31. University of Oregon (3:27.40) and University of Texas (3:27.42) claimed gold and silver, respectively.
There was disappointment, however, for Texas A&M in the men’s 4x400m. T&T quarter-miler Carlyle Roudette split an impressive 45.40 on the second leg. But Texas A&M dropped the baton on the third leg following a collision with University of Florida, leaving anchorman Lendore with too much ground to make up, and his team finished fourth in the section and 12th overall in 3:15.81. Texas A&M and Florida were later disqualified.
Texas A&M finished fifth in the women’s team competition with 35 points, while Minnesota were 51st with two points. Oregon (44) and Texas (43.5) were first and second, respectively, while University of Georgia (40.5) and Florida (40.5) tied for third.
Texas A&M were eighth among the men with 18 points, and Penn State finished 32nd with six points. Oregon (62) emerged victorious, finishing ahead of University of Arkansas (54) and Florida (35).

The men’s Cleburne Price Jr. 4x400 had set up another thrilling showdown involving Texas A&M, Florida and LSU, but Deon Lendore started to slow on the backstretch of his anchor leg and then stopped with 120m left in the race. The three previous legs for the Aggies included Gregory Coleman (46.7), Carlyle Roudette (44.7) and Shavez Hart (45.6).

Lendore leads the world
T&T quartermiler clocks 44.90 in Arizona (http://www.trinidadexpress.com/sports/Lendore-leads-the-world-255256611.html)

Quartermiler Deon Lendore claimed the top spot on the 2014 world outdoor performance list with a superb 44.90 seconds run in the Sun Angel Track Classic men’s 400 metres event, in Arizona, USA, on Saturday. The clocking is a new personal best for the Trinidad and Tobago athlete, improving on the 44.94 run that earned him silver at the 2013 NCAA Championships.
In Saturday’s race, Lendore led a one-two finish for Texas A&M University and T&T, Carlyle Roudette finishing second in 45.77—a new PR (personal record).
The Sun Angel 400 was Lendore’s one-lap outdoor opener and his first outing since sustaining an injury in the Texas Relays 4x400m last month.
‘’This week was all about seeing how it feels, especially after going down at the Texas Relays,’’ said Lendore, in an interview on the Texas A&M website (www.aggieathletics.com). ‘’I came out here and it was all about executing a good race. I just wanted to do the best I could do and ended up with a PR. I didn’t expect it, but I’m happy that I have it now.’’ Lendore ended the 2014 indoor season as the world leader with a 45.03 seconds clocking.
Another T&T/Texas A&M athlete, Janeil Bellille finished third in the Sun Angel Track Classic women’s 400m hurdles in 58.12 seconds. And Michelle-Lee Ahye was the class of the Texas Invitational women’s 200m field, the T&T sprinter striking gold in a wind-assisted 22.88 seconds. At the Johnson C. Smith Invitational, in North Carolina, Ade Alleyne-Forte secured the men’s 400m title with a 46.79 seconds run.
Durell Busby grabbed gold in the men’s 110m hurdles at the Billiken Invitational, in Missouri. The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee student clocked 13.88 seconds, while in Maryland, Coppin State University’s Haysean Cowie-Clarke won the Don Webster Invitational men’s 100m dash in 10.61 seconds.
Another T&T/Coppin State athlete, Deandra Daniel topped the women’s high jump field with a 1.76 metres clearance. Meanwhile, at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational, in Florida, Shermund Allsop finished second in both the men’s 100m and 200m events. The Louisiana State University (LSU) sprinter clocked 10.42 seconds in the century and 20.74 in the longer sprint. Three-time Olympic medallist Richard ‘Torpedo’ Thompson clocked 20.81 for third spot in the 200m. At the Seminole Invitational, in Florida, Lalonde Gordon finished third overall in the men’s 200m in a wind-aided 20.97 seconds. The double Olympic bronze medallist was also third fastest in the 100m, getting home in 10.55. Peli Alzola won the women’s 100m ‘B’ race at the Border Clash meet, in Alabama. The Mississippi State University student got to the line in 11.97 seconds.
University of Southern Mississippi’s Robert Collingwood threw 17.95m to finish third in the men’s shot put. His twin brother and Southern Miss teammate Richard Collingwood was fifth in the men’s discus with a 51.23m effort. And at the Missouri Relays, Jonathan Holder bagged bronze in the men’s 100m dash in a windy 10.61 seconds.

Texas A&M’s Deon Lendore receives USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week honor
Trackalerts on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/trackalerts?filter=3)
NEW ORLEANS –Texas A&M junior Deon Lendore earned his fifth career National Athlete of the Week honor from the United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association as he recorded a world-leading time of 44.90 seconds in winning the 400 meters at the 35th annual Sun Angel Classic to establish a personal best time.
In earning his first outdoor National Athlete of the Week honor from USTFCCA Lendore adds to the four indoor national honors he has received over the past two years, twice in 2013 and twice in 2014.
Lendore and teammate Carlyle Roudette (45.77) both set career best times in finishing first and second in the featured 400 final on Saturday evening in Tempe, Arizona. Lendore’s 44.90 improved upon his previous best of 44.94 he ran in finishing second at the 2013 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Lendore’s time places him at No. 9 on the Trinidad & Tobago’s all-time list and equal No. 5 on the A&M all-time list.
Running in the 4x400 relay Lendore split 44.7 as the Aggies won the race in 3:02.67 over Arizona State (3:06.12) and Kansas (3:07.19) to record the second fastest collegiate time this season.

I believe that Shermund Allsop is also Trini so we should also keep tabs on him.

And Yes shermund is Trini, just forgot to highlight his name.

Nice going from MLA. Hopefully she can get into the sub-11 club this season.

merritt like he back on extenze
-
I was talking about the times
Time is decent considering 1. that they won (placed 1st & 2nd) and 2. the wind reading was negative.
Also consider that some tracks are faster than others and not every track is as fast as our local track at the HCS.
-
merritt like he back on extenze
Maybe his doctors have found something to give him that the testers cannot pick up and they are doing whatever it takes to ensure that Kirani James cannot get the better of Merritt this season.
Would be nice to see Quow dip under 45s a few times this season has he hasn't done so for a number of years out side of a relay leg.
-
It is the same track that mla ran on. So that indicates it is a fast track and the wind was also negative
-

Good point. Maybe they both did just enough to win as winning is more important than your time?

I am really looking forward to the 400m Final at T&T National Champs 2014 in June that barring anyone getting injured should feature the likes of Lendore vs Gordon vs Quow vs Cedenio vs Richards vs Roudette vs Solomon vs Hewitt vs Alleyne-Forte.
Our T&T national 400m record of 44.21 set by Ian Morris in 1992 could possibly go this year if the conditions are right!
-
Lendore might be tired from the upcoming regionals and subsequent NCAAs especially with his workload (4x1, 4, 4x4), while the likes of Quow and Gordon would be resting up, "sharpening their blades". Commonwealth Games however would be another story once Lendore is rested and primed. Too bad Cedenio can't join those 3 for the CWG 4x400m relay, as the WJC runs simultaneously with the CWG (Roudette should be a good substitute if he is indeed cleared to represent T&T). Hopefully all 4/5 of them will hold form or improve for 2015 WC and 2016 OLY.

Don't forget about Jarrin Solomon, he is a great 4x4 relay animal even though his official 400m PB is not as quick as the others mentioned.
I think Roudette is already cleared to run for T&T otherwise they won't have him listed as a Trinidad & Tobago athlete on the IAAF website: http://www.iaaf.org/athletes/trinidad-and-tobago/carlyle-roudette-262822

Very very skeptical of those times. We need to see a wind reading before we call this a superb a run. I seen the race. I think 9.87 to 9.95 is about right.

‘Torpedo’ bolts to 9.74
By BY Kwame Laurence
Story Created: May 31, 2014 at 9:35 PM ECT
Richard “Torpedo” Thompson scorched the track in 9.74 seconds to win the elite men’s 100 metres dash, at the National Training Centre/Pure Athletics Last Chance Meet, in Clermont, Florida, USA, yesterday. However, the wind gauge malfunctioned, and the clocking will not hold up as a Trinidad and Tobago record.
Guyana’s Adam Harris was second in 9.90, while T&T sprinters Emmanuel Callender (10.07) and Keston Bledman (11.69) were seventh and eighth, respectively. Bledman felt a muscle twinge and aborted his run. Thompson was fastest in the qualifying round in 10.12 seconds. Bledman clocked 10.15, Callender 10.29, and Moriba Morain 10.69.
In the 200m, Callender clocked a wind-assisted 20.62 to finish fourth overall. Ade Alleyne-Forte was fourth in the men’s 400m in 46.88 seconds. Kyron Blaise jumped 7.29m for fourth spot in the men’s long jump. And Geronne Black was 12th overall in the elite women’s 100m dash in 11.61.
At the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) West Preliminary meet, in Arkansas, on Friday, Janeil Bellille clocked a personal best 55.41 seconds to win heat three in the women’s 400m hurdles. The Texas A&M University senior led all qualifiers into the June 11-14 NCAA Division 1 Outdoor Championships, in Oregon, USA.
T&T/Texas A&M athletes, Deon Lendore and Carlyle Roudette qualified for the NCAA Championships in the men’s 400m event. Lendore topped heat two in 45.22 seconds to qualify second fastest among the West athletes. Roudette was fourth fastest, the 22-year-old quartermiler finishing second in heat three in a personal best 45.66.
At the NCAA East Preliminary meet, in Florida, Steve Waithe produced a personal best 16.06 metres effort to finish fourth in the men’s triple jump, the Pennsylvania State University student booking his ticket for the NCAA Championships.
University of Georgia athlete Hilenn James, Coppin State University’s Deandra Daniel, Morgan State University’s Emmanuel Stewart, University of Southern Mississippi twins Robert and Richard Collingwood, and Louisiana State University (LSU) sprinter Shermund Allsop competed in the East Preliminary meet, but did not qualify for the NCAA Championships.
James was 14th in the women’s discus with a 52.42m throw. Daniel cleared the bar at 1.77m for 21st spot in the women’s high jump. In the men’s discus, Stewart (54.61m) and Richard Collingwood (53.12m) were 21st and 29th, respectively. Robert Collingwood finished 23rd in the men’s shot put with a 17.87m effort. And Allsop was 31st overall in the men’s 200m in 21.26 seconds.
At the West Preliminary meet, University of Iowa’s Carisa Leacock and Arkansas State University’s Kashef Daniel were non-qualifiers. Leacock produced a wind-assisted leap of 5.94m to finish 22nd in the women’s long jump, while no height was cleared by Daniel in the men’s high jump.
Texas A&M’s Wayne Davis II and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee student Durell Busby were in action after press time, last night, in the West Preliminary men’s 110m hurdles. And North Dakota State University’s Deborah John was on show in the women’s 100m hurdles.
At the Prefontaine Classic IAAF Diamond League meet, in Oregon, yesterday, T&T’s 2012 Olympic champion Keshorn Walcott finished seventh in the men’s javelin with a 75.50m throw. Czech Republic’s reigning world champion Vitezslav Vesely produced an 83.75m effort to top the field.
And in the men’s 400m, T&T’s Olympic bronze medallist Lalonde Gordon did not finish. Grenada’s Kirani James and American LaShawn Merritt finished one-two, both quartermilers clocking 43.97 seconds. Saudia Arabia’s Youssef Masrahi (44.77) was third.

In his first competition since clocking a heavily wind-assisted 9.74, Trinidad and Tobago’s Richard Thompson broke the 100m meeting record with 9.95, aided by a useful 1.4m/s following breeze. It was his fastest wind-legal performance in the 100m since setting the national record of 9.85 in 2011.
In second place, British youngster Chijindu Ujah improved his PB to 9.96 for a European age-20 best and UK under-23 record. Jason Rogers of St Kitts and Nevis was third in 10.06.

Some comments to make about the race after viewing the video:-
1. Richard clearly won the race and lead from about 30 meters to the end of the race so it was clear to the commentators right away that he had won even before viewing the photo finish.
2. The British youth who came second ran the fastest race of his life and was helped along to his first sub-10 by being in the lane next to RT and trying to keep pace with him.
3. The British youth got a bit too excited and grabbed the winners flowers which I think was on its way to Richard and then started to sign autographs like he had won. Wonder why he did that when he was clearly second and the electronic results confirmed that?
4. The meet organizers need to learn the difference between the T&T and Chinese flag when they put up official results as that was a bit of an insult to Trinis showing the Chinese flag next to Trinidad & Tobago especially since Richard ran in his T&T uniform which also bears the T&T flag.
-
I wondered the same thing myself (about the winner's flowers). I think Richard looked a bit confused when the guy took the flowers and was probably thinking that he had lost the race somehow...lol. His start wasn't good at all as he stumbled out of the blocks but recovered well to capture the win (Reaction .204).
Exciting times ahead. Stay tuned!!
-
Richard will be the only T&T athlete in action today. Competing against for training partner Jaysuma Ndure on home turf. Jimmy Vicaut and Adam Gemilli would also be worth paying attention too.

Thompson aims at another sub-10 race in Diamond League 100m (http://www.guardian.co.tt/sport/2014-06-11/thompson-aims-another-sub-10-race-diamond-league-100m)
Published: Wednesday, June 11, 2014 T&T Guardian)
Fresh off his 100m success in Holland over the weekend, on-form T&T sprinter Richard Thompson is expected to replicate his performance today at the ExxonMobil Bislett Games, in Oslo, Norway, today.
Usain Bolit, the record holder of the 100m and 200m events at the now-IAAF Diamond League event will not line up, giving Thompson the status as favourite to win today’s event.
On Sunday, Thompson, T&T’s 2008 Olympic medalist finished in a blistering season-best 9.95 seconds, just one tenth of a second off his personal best and the third fastest time of the year, to capture gold at the FBK Games, in Hengelo.
That came a week after he clocked 9.74 seconds in a wind-assisted finish to win the 100m event at the NTC/Pure Athletics Last Chance Meet. The time, however, did not stand as the wind gauge malfunctioned, but it would have been the world leading time.
He lines up in lane five against France’s Jimmy Vicaut, who shares the same season best time, former world champion Kim Collins of St Kitts, South Africa’s Simon Magakwe, Norweigan Jaysuma Saidy Ndure and Britons Kilty Richard, Daniel Talbot and Adam Gemili.
In another highly-anticipated race, US Allyson Felix will go head-to-head with Murielle Ahoure of the Ivory Coast in the women’s 200m. Felix, a three-time world champion will be seeking to reestablish herself as the dominant force over the 200m after an injury-plagued 2013.
