If we really want a local coach at the helm for the future, send Anton and other young coaches to Holland or England for 4 years and let him come back for the 2014 campaign with Latas it done too late for 2010, cause at least these are people with coaching ambitions who born here and hopefully they will come back with some experience as a tactician dis will please everybody but unfortunately TTFF doh have dat kinda foresight. We see in this world cup where coaches matching up tactically agianst each other has been in the headlines just as much as the players. Patriot/Ato/Albertatrini/Palos (and I doh mean to offend anybody else who I eh mention) and practically everybody on this thread - you all seem to have a rational views on the subject .. is there any hope in hell of actually formalizing these opinions and making a presentation that will be taken seriously by a person with influence in the hierarchy of T&T national sports?

FPATT I heard on the program that the case was also filed in London as some of the players live and work there? Is that correct?
They didn't say which court they filed in.
I suspect it is the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Switzerland. Anything other than that and they may get officially suspended based on the Fifa statutes. Guess we will find out the details tomorrow but they have been doing the right things so I think it will be CAS.

CAS is arbitration. Both sides need to agree to that. Jack will not go to CAS, as he will lose.

I suspect it is the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Switzerland. Anything other than that and they may get officially suspended based on the Fifa statutes. Guess we will find out the details tomorrow but they have been doing the right things so I think it will be CAS.

they just said that he cant carry on in that position, -no other reason was given. So Villafana was like (i paraphrasing) "what! is this a big secret how come no one knows about that?" but the talk swing in some other direct after without an answer. Apparently shabazz in that position a couple of weeks now. I end up leaving to get ready for work, so I guess we have to wait for a press release or something for the whole story.

Are any of his duties as head of player development compromised by his position of Coach of the Guyanese MNT? Exactly what interests do you see as bein gin conflict here?
So as head of player development he would not be privy to anything that's going on with the Senior team? Would he not be part of the team making recommendations to the Senior team technical staff about players and how to address certain issues players had in a particular game, training, etc. ? I'm still shocked at the way you treated your football hero Russel Latapy when he was fired as T&T head coach...now that Pfister has failed, it sems many are calling for him to remain in charge. This man would have been fired immediately after the game if he was coaching any other team in CONCACAF..given the hefty salary he commands.

i said it before and will say it again, 2006 WC was ah curse on T&T football, and i never care fuh the WC as much as regional tourneys like the gold cup and degicel cup. the WC IMO is nothing ah big shopping expo to showcase new talent to the footballing market. and IMO countries who doh have their house in order have no right being there!
post germany WC was the worst T&T football has ever been in all my yrs of following international football. right after that WC instead of building on the momentum, jack warner went and lost his monkey mind over 30 million USD, and turned T&T football inside out like ah smoke herring! which destroyed all chemistry the team had allowing the football to plummet to an all time low.
as for latapy he's ah serious self serving c@nt! who shoulda never been hired in the first place. this turkey has no credentials, no former resume of managing ah club or national team, and he had no advance license, in other words, the man was trying a thing @ the expense of T&T football!
latapy took T&T football and made it into ah mockry, imagine this dude played seven games in the hex, he won one, drew one and lost five. he then begged to be kept on as head coach, which further destroyed the credibility of T&T football by allowing our rankings to fall into the hundreds, making us to lose out on another gold cup, and despite all that , still!!!!! wanted to stay on as head coach, and even when he was fired , still!!! wanted to be an assistant to pfister!
this new coach, pfister on the other hand, had one warm up game before qualifying started with no name india, he them jumped into the tourney cold turkey with very little knowledge of the players under his care, and had tuh experiment with his players in the middle of qualifying, and after 5 games in charge ppl want his head, i think this is absolute madness!!
this man is ah proven coach winning lots of things that latas only dream of, so whats so ridiculous about giving this man another chance to get dug in ? IMO this man has a lot to offer, why not be as patient as we possibly can.

so let me get this straight, we fire the coach, and then we park the team in ah ole garage until the degicel cup, then we bring it back out , give it ah wash and ah vacuum, bring in ah new mechanic tuh tune up the engine, and is back on the race track with cars that's been active and overhauled regularly and running while we were parked in some old garage until is time tuh race again?
that is why we not doing well @ football in the region, bc we don't have our priorities straight! this coach is the 4th coach in 5 yrs! now if that isn't counter productive then i don't know what iz!

take forinstance the US mens team, they had two coaches in 7 yrs, both coaches took them to a WC, and every time they change a coach it was way before the other campaign started, and that coach takes them right through the campaign.
they recently fired bradly bc they thought it was time to raise the bar, not bc they were afraid that bradley couldn't take them to another WC.
they want to compete on ah higher level, and instill ah more efficient philosophy on their players! which includes player development, better ball handling and creativity, together with technical and tactical development, and for this reason alone, the US would never suffer the pain and gripes we do!
they know ah system by heart, they studied it, it grew on them and they can play it with their eyes closed, ask our boys, what system do they play, and they can even identify it? that's bc over the past 15 yrs it's about 10 philosophies /systems they've had put down their throats, together with ah new national team every 2 yrs, so no cohesion, no basic system, and no continuity, and we wonder why we failing so much!
what T&T needs to do is......... and i'm being unrealistic here but practical. get with ah good foreign whiteman coach for the next 7 yrs! yes i said it! and equally ah good technical director, and yes we have the fackin money tuh do so!
we also need tuh have ah core of @ least 40 players learning ah system under this great coach, not no fackin local xenophobe! ah real tech minded stalwart in the know coach, that's if we decide to rid our selves of pfister (which i'm totally against), but be it as it may,

Socapro, did you notice that out of the last four WC campaigns the eropeans won it three times. did you watch germany play this past WC in SA? it's the best display of football that i've ever seen, was pretty sure they were going to win, but they caught ah bit of bad luck when their two beast attacking options picked up injuries.
would rather play ah dutch or german sturdy organized style of football any day than that show off brazilian flair, mind you, which only them alone can pull off, and only bc it's their culture. if yuh want tuh emulate ah mans culture, why not emulate ah more gritty efficient style?

The TTFF is guilty of any number of failings. So to are the clubs and leagues. Why blame the Federation for technical weaknesses and lack of flair in players when these very players come from the clubs - most of which are not properly organized? Generally, clubs pay little attention to youth development and are content to merely chase points every season while simultaneously absenting themselves from the meetings they are supposed to attend in order to ensure the politics, administration and development of the game at their local AND national level proceeds properly? If club football - the foundation of the national game - and football generally are in a mess, there's enough blame to be shared by both Federation and clubs. The T&T team will have captains because we cannot guarantee players playing time. So there will be more in a sense. Captain is a funny thing in football, there is leaders on the field and in the dressing room despite not being vocal on the field (Me: You need to be vocal on the field, this is important, come on SH... !!!!!).... we need to make sure to have all types.
Overseas club teams usually have two captains: the team captain on the pitch and the club captain who would usually be rolled out at corporate and club events.
As mentioned, the club captain may be a player who has been around the club for a while but may not be the kind of gung ho leader on the pitch. There is usually a vice captain so if the team captain is not playing, it may be the vice captain who takes the armband, not the club captain.
Sounds confusing, but it has some logic. Many managers, however, prefer to just have one overall captain. I can't be certain, but I believe Steve Bruce was club captain at Man Utd, but there were times that Pallister wore the armband. I seem to recall Roy Keane also wearing the armband when Bruce was club captain, but I can't be certain.
I also recall that Ian Cox was club captain at Gillingham but did not always wear the armband.

Boat ride issue gaining traction on 95 ... regarding the three (3) players who "allegedly" broke camp before the Guatemala home game. Calls for the issue to be aired publicly with comment from the powers-that-be. Foreign-based players.
Whilst I understand the media's interest in the dynamics surrounding the incident, it's also fair to say that the federation and the coaching staff should be able to exercise discretion in decision-making without baring all to the public.:thumbsup:
Some comments in the media seem to be stirring the pot rather than dealing exclusively with whatever actual newsworthiness exists regarding the players breaking the rules. (That is not to say that reasonable questions have not been raised, but some of the "stirring" ignores what the coach has stated).
However, does the expenditure/receipt of public funds by a sporting federation automatically create an expectation of full disbursement of information to the public on whatever polemic issue may arise? Probably not. There has to be room for properly-managed, internal solutions.
Whilst I would not term what occurred as a "crisis", some of the voiced rhetoric from the media has pointed to a gathering storm, I don't know that such a conclusion is accurate or supportable. Nonetheless, due to continuing media interest in the story and the public curiosity/interest that now has bolted the barn, the TTFA has to treat this issue with crisis management tools (refer to the Clinton wobble) as opposed to its reflexive tendency to the opposite.
Balance all interests (team, staff, public, the Boat Ride Three) and provide responsible response and let this die whatever death it merits.
It's fair to want to know what the properly-managed, internal solutions are, but it's perhaps not "fair" to second guess how/why the coaching staff arrived at such a decision without having an intimate understanding of the internal team culture.

So! Based on the recent past, we should be expecting a transmission from this station from Thailand. They've been all over de globe and have helped bridge an information gap for followers of the MNT.It shows how much they care about the women's program. The fearful One Andre Baptiste is still bottoming up to the deposed and disgraced David John-Williams with that stupid football commentary he made this morning. Baptiste is still using his grimy fingers scratching for dirt and sleaze against the new TTFA executive.Is Jet Lee going to allow this joker Andre Baptiste to use the station to influence opinion against William Wallace? There was a heated exchange a lil while ago between a caller and Darian Marcelle regarding the remedial work done at the HoF, the time taken to complete the remedial measures vis-a-vis whether the TTFA executive misrepresented the extent of what needed to be remediated, the relevance of it taking place during a situation of de facto emergency and the Arima Velodrome project (described by Marcelle as "dotish"). The caller entered with grace but departed bruised.i was listening in, it was on the tobago segment of the show. dude said that young vindicated WW when he said the place needed work, but marcelle was angry at the fact that wallace closed the HOF and wanted to build his own place in arima while abandoning the HOF permanently.

I really don't get this New Project. Why not work with, finish, complete what y'all have, with whatever finance that can be raised. We go just go out and build another structure. well that all seems fairly straightforward, so what is the issue then, the "embarrassment" caused by publicizinge the flaws, I don't understand how one would keep dat info quiet and explain why using the hotel might be problematic at that time. but then given all d pomp and ceremony surrounding d opening, more people than just DJW ego would be bruised by d airing of those concerns
My major concern with the facility was simply that there appeared to be no dedicated fitness\performance center, which for an academy type setting was short sighted at best, criminal at worst
