According to the site this is how they come up with results. Remember the french league is great and alot of top class African players play their.

The strongest National League of the World 2004:

England's Premier League the strongest in the world!

England has the strongest league in the world. England's Premier League, already the second strongest in the world in 2004, has continuously gained in strength, and proven this outside of the British isles as well. The renaissance of Italy's Serie A continues, and the Première Division of France – by now the third best league in the world – is also gathering strength. The instability of Spain's top clubs at the national level and their poor showing at the European club championships for over a year now have caused Spain's Primera División to crash from first place to fourth.

While Germany's Bundesliga has risen by one place (now fifth), the Eredivisie has made great strides, propelling the Netherlands to seventh place, right between Brazil and Argentina. Equally spectacular gains were registered by the Russian and the Ukrainian leagues, which are now being funded a great deal better and so made the "top ten". The Primera División of Mexico is currently not only the strongest league of the CONCACAF region, but also the third strongest in Latin America.

Other national leagues which made great improvement in 2005 include those of Romania, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Denmark, Ghana, Morocco, Egypt, Norway, Slovakia, Estonia, Poland and especially the United Arab Emirates, now the strongest Asian league, before Saudi Arabia and China. On the other hand, the East Asian top leagues – Japan and South Korea – are going downhill. A similar downturn has been observed in the nation al leagues of Peru, South Africa, Latvia, Hungary, Israel, Senegal, Sweden and Croatia.

-----------

The classification of the best leagues of the world is made objectively without any outside influence of any sort. We follow the criteria that the level of performance of a league is reflected by the best classified teams of that league who in turn usually represent their country in international club competitions. If one looks at the football power-houses of the world, one notices that regularly 4 or 5 clubs of their leagues are always competing in continental competitions. By adding the points won in all competitions by the five best placed clubs of each league, we have the points for the country which in turn helps to establish a fair classification. It is important to note that only the yearly classification is representative, since all competitions move along the whole season and over twelve months, we have an objective view of the best. This system has been used since 1991, and it is recognized today as the most precise in rating the leagues of the world.

Spain and Italy have the better top teams but some of the lower teams is real Tata

The english league is solid from top to bottom with the exception of maybe Sunderland

Sides like Middlesbourough and Birmingham will beat most of them spanish sides and lower italian sides

Just look at how far Midlesbourough reach in UEFA cup and they in relegaton fight in England.

La Liga (Spanish league) is the best because they play more creative, inventive and entertaining football. Barca aside, smaller teams in La Liga like Getafe, Espanyol and Betis play a kinda football that would stifle EPL teams on the same level. When yuh going and play football in England, forget most of what yuh grow up playin with because as ah player YOU have to ADAPT to english football....EPL football eh want no unique ting just yet...just good ol' fashioned English football. In Spain players are allowed more fluidity and the coaches adapt to the players' comfort zones and sets a team plan from that. The result is Spanish football becomes more interesting to watch than EPL football.

"Creativity","inventive" and "entertaining" are all subjective terms. As for middle order Liga teams "stifling" middle order EPL teams well that can never be proven. To me, there is only a handfull(if that much) of La Liga teams worth watching.

Based on What? Our pro league teams cannot even hod their own in CONCACAF CL against teams from Guatemala & Panama. W Connection with all their foreign based can't even win a game. Yet in the Pro League they unbeaten.  Come better than that!

The rankings are junk - they claim objectivity, but they have clearly implicit biases in them. You can't judge a league by its top 4 teams.

I think a good barometer for the strength of a league is the number of players across all the teams that are full international players and probably weighted by the higher ranked international teams as well.

So Jamaica's National league is better than ours and is improving as they moved up from 111 in the world to 102, while ours is getting worse as we moved down from 115 in the world to 135.

So it looks like T&T players could be better off going trying to play for clubs in Jamaica as they would get a better standard of competition. Is that true?

Btw Venezuela is at 49 and Panama is at 86 so our players will also be better off trying to join clubs in those countries to improve their overall level of competition.

2. Perform better in the CONCACAF Champions League. We have yet to reach the knockout stage.

Just like FIFA rankings, this is results based. It does not account for quality of teams in the league, but instead, the performance of a leagues top team in competitions.
One team could be very good while the rest of the league could be very poor, so it's not a good measure of a league's overall standard.
As Tallman pointed out, regular success in CFU and better performances in CONCACAF would drastically improve our position.

Isn't that the purpose of a Pro team, to win competitions (results)? Beating everyone at home all well and good, but when you step outside yuh door yuh getting smashed left and right, and have to run back inside. How could you be ranked as one of the best if you cannot even compete with the rest?

That's true if you're ranking teams, but this ranks LEAGUES. PR Islanders or Barracudas may fare well in competitions, but the leagues they play in are poor. But because of one teams performance, the who;e league is upgraded.

Like allyuh have anesia or what. Who have won most of the the CFU clubs champions league. That being said we have not done well in Concacaf. Connection has been the most consistent TT club in this competition over the past 15 years. But they have bring up their play to a much higher level to get out of the group stage.

Our 9 team league is disappointing. It is too long and difficult to keep track. I think the season should be shortened.

Jamaica is ahead that's certainly fair right now, but if the TT Pro league had 10 Central FC's when it came to community work and sponsors then not only the league but a whole host of communities would be better for it.
