1-0 is not getting crushed... but the Czechs basically put up a B side there... hopefully they'll have the big guys playing against us... give us a tough test... to me t&t and paraguay doing alot more preparation that england and sweden... they taking it too easy ;) :beermug:

I don't know the quality of their streams though. It sounds a little fishy... from the faq: "You are granted access to open gateways which is not illegal. Our site does not include streaming media. Members are supplied with software and links to thousands streaming internet Tv from around the world. All video streams are copyright of their respective stations."

might be worth a shot for a few bucks though.

Ha Ha I found out they just give you listings to PPLive feeds! You can get those anywhere for free!

Czech Republic midfielder Vladimir Smicer will miss the World Cup due to a hamstring injury. PRAGUE,

Czech Republic (AP) - Czech Republic midfielder Vladimir Smicer is out of the World Cup after failing to recover from a hamstring injury.

The Bordeaux player consulted team doctors and coach Karel Bruckner before announcing his decision Thursday.

"We came to a conclusion that, unfortunately, my condition makes it impossible for me to travel to the World Cup and help the team," Smicer said. "It's impossible to cure the leg (in time)."

Smicer said he hadn't been able to train fully for the World Cup, which begins June 9 in Germany.

"The doctors and I were not able to guarantee that I would be fit during the World Cup," he said. "I had no other choice. Now, I have to fully recover first, rest, and get ready for the next season."

Team spokesman Lukas Tucek said Libor Sionko of Glasgow Rangers would replace Smicer on the roster.

Sionko joined the squad at its training camp in Seefeld, Austria, last week and played in the second half of Tuesday's warm-up against Costa Rica.

Tucek earlier said that Sparta Prague midfielder Tomas Sivok will also join the team Thursday.

Teams can change their rosters 24 hours before playing their World Cup opening game.

The Czechs face the United States on June 12, before playing Ghana and Italy.

The 33-year-old Smicer, who has scored 27 goals in 81 matches for the Czech Republic, hasn't played since being injured with Bordeaux in February.

"It makes no sense to go to the World Cup after not playing a game for three months," Smicer said. "It certainly is a great disappointment for me."

But Smicer said he was not planning to retire from international soccer.

"I'm looking forward to next season with Bordeaux ... and when I play well it's not a problem for me to continue in the national team," said Smicer.

Czech Republic playmaker Tomas Rosicky, who sat out the friendly against Costa Rica due to a thigh injury was in better condition Thursday, team doctor Jiri Fousek said.

Fousek said Rosicky will not play Saturday "to make sure" he will be fit for the World Cup opener.

Also, captain Tomas Galasek, who has a knee injury, will miss Saturday's game, but is expected to be ready for the World Cup.

Coach Leo Beenhakker and skipper Dwight Yorke both expect another
tough match when the Soca Warriors clash with the Czech Republic at
the Prague from 5:30 pm (11:30 am TT time) tomorrow.

This will be the final international warm up for the Warriors ahead
of their opening Group B fixture against Sweden on June 10.

Despite a 3-1 defeat to Slovenia on Wednesday, Beenhakker says his
men are relishing the tougher outings at this stage of their
preparations and has called on the Czechs to apply the pressure.

"While it is not nice losing, the results means little to the
Warriors," said Beenhakker yesterday.

The Dutch-born coach said he was very thankful for the way Slovenia
played. "That's exactly what we were looking for. They played with a
lot of speed and aggression and they were strong," Beenhakker explained.

He noted that some of his players were not accustomed to playing such
speedy games. "We are in a moment of tough preparation and you could
see it a little bit especially in the second half," he added.

Beenhakker said the Warriors did not start well and were a bit
sleepy. "Slovenia, however, started well and got two goals. After
that we played a good game until half time. The second half was not
so good. But for me, the most important thing was that it was a
perfect preparation game and I am very thankful for the way Slovenia
played. It was tough but that is exactly what we will meet in Germany."

The Dutchman said he was not making excuses but he preferred to face
potent opponents rather than easier opposition and coming away with
handsome wins.

However, he called for better starts from his team.

"If you have two goals against you within 15 minutes, then something
is missing. Now we know what we have to do. It's just a matter of a
little more discipline and maybe a lot more concentration. The game
here in Europe is much quicker than we are used to. Right now we are
busy with preparation matches. I can choose easy opponents and we can
win 3-0 and everybody thinks we are there. We need these games and
the guys need to get use to it," the T&T boss concluded.

If that happens, then I'll be most pleasantly surprised. If we happen to pull off a draw or even a win against #2, then I think SVEN go have to change he shorts!

They have their doubles, read papers and then we start. The footballers are Trinis so they need to work harder at the start of the game. It is not impossible.

What coach have to do is tell the players the game starting at 5:30 instead of 6:00 then by the time they finish the doubles (slight pepper) they good to go... ;D

the warriors may stand a chance for an OK result however if bean wants to experiment again as he has done in the past two games then we may lose not too badly though, i doubt he would want to risk injuries and such so its all up to him

in beanie i trust and these games mean nothing for JA and trini they can only serve to provide much needed experience vs euro teams

our real test is from june 10th when we will go all out win lose or draw we are fighters................and i am just happy we are there just as happy as i was to run home to watch jamaica play during your WC

World cup starting next week, Beenhakker by now should be done experimenting, he no doubt will be fine tuning for next week's big game.
If you come out to experiment vs a team like Czech republic playing at home in their send off game for the finals, you will get burn.

Agian, I expect heavy defetas for both teams....

Anything else wuold be fetahers in our collective caps ;D

The players playing off the ball also make no major moves off the ball to create for the man controlling the ball at the time. Those are some addition flaws on our squad hopefully they critic on those mistakes during the last two days during practice! Ah praying on meh knee’s like dog man! :rotfl:

I am sure they looked at the Jamaica - US game. It could get really rough, so they may have to sub their better players earlier than they would like. It's all about playing well and staying fit. Wales and Slovenia took the T&T games damn seriously and so has JA vs. USA, Ghana, Australia and now England. They are preparing fot the future...unlike T&T teams in the past, that only prepare last minute when a tournament on the horizon, JA is preparng the right way and getting their youngsters prepared for the next Digicel/GoldCup/Olympic and WC qualifiers. It is a very important game for them.

Grande, I downloaded and installed the sopcast client (not the latest one). When you open it, you get a list of channels, and it plays in Windows Media Player.
I guess there is a lot more traffic now, because it is constantly buffering now... :-(

On the bright side, we did not let in any goals in the second half, the substitutes played well, especially Whitley. A mediocre, but not bad performance .
Score should have been at least 2-1 . Cause teh last goal was after Stern miss. Men need a sense of urgency , real lax playing . I wah see some fighting to get the ball this lay off thing.
And when we have the ball , leave we try push it up instead of knock around back to Jack.

Go warriors 6 more days ........we nearly reach :beermug:

But Aurtis is the man. We kept possesion well in the second half and even dominated at a time. If we played the whole game like how we played the second this would have been a draw for the least. Aurtis does bring so much to the table. We capable of things.....I think we could make the second round but concentration have to be up to mark..I could say that we will get some points as long as our defense concentrate....Go T&T

i know we didnt get any goal attempts (due to latapy not playng >:() but the defensive organisation looked much better in the second half especially due to dog and lawrence patnership

Jack....... Did good today but had no chance with the goals

Cyd.....Showed his better qualities as he was on the right where he belongs

Dog....Showed his power in the air and his leadership in the back

Lawrence.... Dd good but could have been more present

Avery.... Effitent but gave way the ball a lil bit too much

Atiba Charles.....Absoulte toilet paper... out of position yes but terrible technique and stupid tackles

Yorke...Seems to have lost that flare in midfield maybe due to Latapy not playing

Carlos...Looked tricky at times but fair enough game

Samuel... Nice work by Samuel...bit flat in going forward but decent game

Birchall....Showed his Warrior Attitude once again...nuff sed

Theobald....Working out good so far but still lacks that expwerience thaty is needed(ie latapy)

Whitley....Effitent..normal whitley..passed well did a decent job

A.Wolfe lol... i dont think he had a touch

K.Jones..looked flat maybe due to recovery of injury

So because I comment about something everybody does comment on....when Roberto Carlos get cap in de las world cup...when Ashley Cole get a wrong address from Ronaldinho etc...it mean I somehow disrespekin de men or doh know football? Or is jes because is a T&T player so we players exempted from some picong?

Yorke however, can hold the ball, and make penetrating passes or lay off to the mids more effectively. Maybe Yorke can start up top and later on stern comes on and let Yorjke drop back into the middle or something like that. We will need to scored at the WC and this game show sthat we cannot.

Defensively, Lawrence cannot figure it out quick enough. I have said it before, and I will keep saying it. If we have to with a hit and miss defence then Sancho should get the nod ahead of Lawrence and Gray. Atleast Sancho would mark up. I am yet to see Lawrence cover a man all the way and win the ball. He has no speeda nd can be very clumsy. sancho has a greater presence of mind for the positions around him and not just the position he's in. See Lawrence get caught up in the the ball out wide and forget the danger position of the man making the diagonal run across the middle. It is already hard to mark strikers when they running across the field, muchless to lose them when they do. The defence have to realise that they have to secure the middle before they worry about the bal on the wing. So what if the winger cross the ball? No one can do anything while the ball in the air.

Our defence is to slow and our offence through the middle is to one dimensional. On the wing it has improved a lot.

All this being said....England watch alyuh ras, cause we go be playing to save some face. Anything could happen.

Saying that the Czechs were doing what ever they wanted and that we weren't ready for this level of football.

I hope dese guys can make us proud come next Saturday but unless we can produce a solid performance for at least 90 minutes we may just get embarrassed. I know these are warmup games but we are the only team going into the world cup whose defense looks like an under-14 team.

Not sure....there are some "curious exemptions".....Latapy for example. Could it be that Beenie is "holding him back"? Or....could it be that he feel he not able at this point with the kind of game we tryin to play?

We all know Glen was injured and now comin back. Wise is also another one who perhaps could have been given a bit more of a run. Perhaps similar situation as Latas.

Pure speculation....we'll know soon enough in 7 days.

I disagree Ponnox, cuz those two men self, Charles and Gray got bookings (luckily it was in the 2nd half, so it didn't really impact on the game). The tackles resulted in freekicks in very dangerous areas for set plays, which everyone knows TnT is VERY shaky in defending. It just so happened they didn't score from any, but you think we'll be so lucky with Set play specialists England ??

Well we did a GREAT job slowing and diverting the attack today! Probably the best I've ever seen from a T&T defense.
By contrast the Czechs seemed unable to slow or divert our attack at all!!
Maybe Small Magicians rankings were spot on after all - they all should get an 8

When we have professional leagues, things will improve..I hope.

some of these teams need to wake up and remember when they we once like t&t... all those teams were at one point in time in a stage of development we are currently at... t&t should use this yet to prove to the world how much we really can play serious football and that we can equal all opponents on the field... every WC teams like t&t are underestimated and look at how they do... even when they lose the warmups like us... lol

Hey...read what I say and don't turn it around. I am not saying that we should just relax and site see. But we have to know where we are and cannot expect to be a World dominant football nation just like that. If you have been reading you will see that I have asked questions of the team. But I am also realistic in what we can actually do and not what I HOPE or WISH we could do.

aye i know ppl aint going to agree with me but i content with the scoreline... not happy but comfortable with it... we playing against a team that would crush any other team without a prob and we only went down 3-0 due to mistakes... otherwise from what i heard we played solid although we didnt attack as i would have expected... only we need to do is play a lil cleaner at the back and we good... they used what should be their WC squad today against us... england ranked lower than them and to me is a much worse team... no way they getting away against t&t with any scoreline like that 6-0 they make today... i still confident in this team... good luck warriors!!! :beermug:

1) if you give up 3 goals in the first half, due to mistakes you cannot watch the rest of the play and say it was solid. that is unacceptable at international level

2) it is hard to take away too much from the 2nd half because we were already down 3-0 and we do not know what instructions the Czechs got at half time. i am sure avoiding injury was a priority.

3) England is not a much worse team than the Czechs..They are probably better. In fact, they are not much worse than anybody...nobody beating England by more than 1 goal. They are in the top tier of football teams going into the WC, like it or not

4) Don't use FIFA rankings as part of justifying why you think one team is better than the other when they are reasonably similar in stature...especially since we all seem to think the rankings are shit when discussing whether the US is a top 5 team.

It's not being a hater. I'm just pointing out that as supporters a lot of us are clutching at straws. We continue to make excuses for our team while trying to highlight perceived weaknesses in our opponents while these same weaknesses can be found in our team times 10.

As a diehard socawarriors fan I would love to see my team beat Sweden, beat England and advance to the second round but when I look at my team objectively and not as a fan I can see that the difference in quality of players between my team and our world cup opponents is huge.

The dreamers can continue to make excuses and fool themselves. But some of us who are realists know that all the happy days that this team has given us as T&T fans are behind us

This world cup is deserved icing on the careers of the few world class calibre players we've had over the years like Latapy, Yorke, Hislop and Stern John. I hope it will also be a learning experience for the players who will be the core of our team for 2010 qualifying.

Every orange has a specific amount of juice. After all the juice is out no matter how hard yuh squeeze yuh will not get any more juice. Our coach has done just about all that can be done with this team and we should be very grateful for that. But those who are expecting much more from this team will be very dissapointed come world cup time.

u know what real getting on my nerves... watching theseWC preview shows... they real bring down t&t, claiming that we would do the worse in the tournament not even considering that the game is played on the field and not on their unjustified predictions... besides... we may be the suprise of the tournament... we have the potential... all we have to do is play our fullest in the group stages... also they dont consider teams that doing alot worse in their warm ups than us

true but u could discount paraguay and poland (i think)... poland just pull off a win against croatia and paraguay playing decently... they just need to worry abt santa cruz being able to play well with the team after missing out so much due to injury earlier... but alotta ppl trying to pressure us... maybe they're scared lol

The Czechs warmed up against Saudi Arabia, Costa Rica and T&T. That quality of opposition has proven to be rather mediocre....not better than England's warm ups. England's warm ups also included full strength Argentina and Uruguay teams that they beat. The fact is, if England play the Czech Republic..it will be a close game 10 out of 10 times...there is no justification to say that one is MUCH better than the other. And the Czechs are anything but consistant, and almost always manage to choke when it comes to WC qualifying. They got through via a playoff this time...a Euro final in 1996 and semifinal in 2004 are great, but since breaking off from Slovakia what have they done in the WC?

Look over the bahrain game in T&T and tell me we was not lucky. Look at where we were before "The Don" took over, it's akin to a miracle. I used the word miracle loosely and not as a degrading remark. But as the odds were against us and we fought all the way back.

Nah yuh practice and yuh practice so that when yuh having a bad game, all the physical preparations will pull yuh through.

I know that we have expectations that the team should win every friendly, especially aganist teams like Wales but yuh know what after all is said and done, no one gets any points for winning a friendly; when the whistle blows for the first one, then we go see what all these friendlies were all about.

Shaka get 3 with Cyd Gray and Yorke tryin to be central defenders in fron of him. If you go back and watch the highlights of the previous game, he had a string of superb saves and did well to get his hand to the second. The third he should have held yes, but was fully extended and who's to say Jack would have even gotten to that. Let's not forget that Jack is very suspect. Leh we go with the man who has been and still is doin it at one of the highest levels for years.

I honestly believe right now we could give the US, MEx and Costa Rica a run for their money.

First...I can't think of any real basis for thinking we are significantly closer to US, MEx or CR. Interested in your reasoning. As soon as we improve our play we jump to these conclusions, but where are the results to back it up?

Neither...All they have to do is concentrate...cut out the small errors because with out them we are not really looking to bad.
It is only when we don't mark or make a bad pass that we does get punish....I did not see the game today but all the ones before our keeper does hardly have anything to do unless we give the ball up of leave man to run in on him unmarked.

Slovenia and particularly Wales are two of the weakest teams in Europe.....
In fact I would put my money on Cuba or St Kitts to push this weak Wales close.
So u need to evaluate your reasoning.

If yuh trying to keep it, how yuh doh know what to do with it......but for yuh info, we dun past dah step, we can keep it, a job by itself,...and ah understand yuh, we know what to do with it as well...doh worry, other than we are not perfect at the strategy, and may on occasion falter....and to clarify, we cannot all out attack, cause yuh need the ball to do that, and we cannot all out defend, cause very few teams could regularly survive any world class attack with the ball for 90 minutes..

I could be wrong but didn't they say in the build up that Slovenia beat Italy in the qualifers.... I am sure that I heard this which means that they do have something to offer....even it it was only one game and they fell away after and did not qualify...Let us give the teams some credit. Wales well I give you that one.

That is the point I was making....we not that bad overall it is just lapses in concentration that making we look bad. Men looking at the score alone.

I mean we now play with the big league teams.
To see Nedved running on the same field with the warriors was priceless.

And I also feel we could compete better with US, Mex and CR now, we looking MUCH more comfortable IN POSSESSION now than we did even 6 months ago, and we also keeping structure better.
The team is now much better than it was vs Mexico B team and Bahrain.
Jus my opinion.
