Tigers hold Mucurapo 0-0.

St Anthony's College goalkeeper Kevin Mussio was yesterday's hero for his team as the "Tigers" held Mucurapo Senior Comprehensive to a 0-0 draw in an entertaining contest at Fatima College's Mucurapo Road Ground yesterday.
The former national Under-17 custodian guessed well and dove to his right to keep out a 57th minute Ricardo Peltier penalty kick and a clean sheet against the Westmoorings team means Mucurapo have dropped their first points for the season.
A series of Mucurapo raids early in the second half saw them threaten to take the game away from the "Tigers", but some efficient defending from skipper Brendan Boucaud and centre back Duane James kept Peltier and the tricky Kevon Piper at bay.
St Anthony's had their share of chances, but met a wall in the Mucurapo defence. St Anthony's had the edge in terms of chances in the first half, but the second period proved more testing for both sides.
In the 62nd, Peltier rose to meet a curling cross from the right side, but it was Mussio's day and he pushed the effort wide. In fact, he held everything or cleared every ball that came his way on a muddy Mucurapo Road ground that had been a vessel for rain water from the showers two hours before.
In the 71st, things got worse for Mucurapo, as captain Khaleem Highland was ejected for his second bookable offence, after controlling the ball with his hand and slotting past Mussio.
Mucurapo found the net once more before the end, but the effort was disallowed after the referee ruled offside.
At the other end, St Anthony's Chivalous George and Jerry Goddard had several close efforts stifled in the closing minutes, and a sliding effort by Goddard with three minutes to go off a Jarrod Williams cross went just wide.
In the end, the Tigers would be quite pleased with a point away to Mucurapo, which will take them back to third position in the standings, after Trinity College were beaten 3-0 at their Moka ground by Malick Senior Comprehensive.
The other North Zone match scheduled for yesterday between Fatima College and St Mary's College at St Mary's Serpentine Road ground had to be postponed as the field markings were affected due to the inclement weather.
Over in Tobago, Scarborough Secondary enjoyed a 1-0 victory over Bishop's High School at Shaw Park thanks to an 11th minute Jerron Quashie item.
The second match of the double-header between Signal Hill Secondary Comprehensive and Mason Hall Government Secondary did not come off, as security for the officials failed to show.
In the second day of Central Zone competition, Marabella Junior Secondary surprised defending champions Presentation College 2-0 at Presentation's ground.
Carapichaima won 3-1 away to Tabaquite despite being locked at 1-1 after 21 minutes, and Union Claxton Bay grabbed their first point when they held Chaguanas Senior Comprehensive 1-1 at Chaguanas.
