It was the Haitian Diaspora team that beat Soca Warriors USA and played Danbury United and Napoli FC. The Haitian Diaspora team is basicly the equivalent of the Soca Warriors USA.

Think about it. We speak Creole and French, not english. However, we even have a site in english that is 'not as good as good as yours, but still decent' ;D
So, do you have an idea how amazed you would be if you actually could speak French? ;)

well, i wish i had taken my high school french more seriously, as well as learn patois from my teacher. i was really good at one time though. i used to read pieces of " france football" in high school. oh well i still have all my school documents. just the motivation to learn/speak it in america is missing. funny, i know a lot of africans from work qui parlent francais as well as a few haitians .it would have at least worked in those situations.

I actually agree that haitifoot is far far behind this forum. Haitifoot is a new site and it apparently still in construction. Many Haitians get their foot info in haitiwebs.com (French/English).
This socawarrior site is #1 if you can hold your own when all trinis on this site turn against you, R. Kipling might say ;D (Ask Reggaefan, jamaica2099, and myself)

Bermuda is one of those second ranked cfu teams that have no respect whatsoever for the traditional powerhouses. Of course, they are the underdogs against Haiti. But, the trouble is that those Bermudians will either choose to ignore this fact or determine to change the status quo. They are like Barbados and SVG.
However, I believe Haiti will prevail.

I was surprised by the strength of Bermuda. One would think that Haiti should win easily but don’t count out Bermuda. . Please post the results as soon as it becomes available.

Apparently, TnT's officials have already picked Haiti to win the playoffs because they choose to play the playoff-winner last and Martinique second, which won't make much sense if they believed Bermuda's chance was good.
Triniman, if qualified, Haiti may need just a draw against TnT to finish first in the group because Haiti tends to score an avalanche of goals when it has the opportunity against weaker teams. Remember what happen to Jamaica twice last year? They finished behind us because they barely beat teams we buried with 7, 4, 5 goals.
We have a score to settle with Martinique and I believe we will do it nicely. Our supporters in Martinique came out strong just to witness their national team got beaten by the arrogant host. It was complete devastation in the Haitian community in Martinique, Guadeloupe, and Guyane.
My prediction is TnT will easily beat Barbados but they will have trouble with Martinique whereas Haiti will probably beat Martinique but struggle with Barbados as both Martinique and Barbados will come out strong in the second day to remain in the competition.

yeah i'm Haitian-American too, i was born in boston but both my parents are from there. i speak creole but i neva learned how to read and write it (which was the case for most kids born here of Haitian descent)

Your creole is fine, Flash7. I remember I read something you wrote in creole once and it was fine.

Haiti won 2:0 over Bermuda in game 1, game 2 will be on tuesday.

I expect a more severe punishment for Bermuda next tuesday. Hopefully they follow the wiser Dominicans and chicken out ;).

COUVA, Trinidad: Goals by Cadet Eliphene and Lormera Roody led Haiti over Bermuda 2-0 in a first-leg repechage on Sunday for a spot in the eight-team Caribbean Cup soccer finals.
The second leg is on Tuesday, again at Ato Boldon Stadium.
Eliphene headed Brunel Fucien's right cross past Bermuda goalkeeper Nigel Burgess in the ninth minute, and substitute Roody finished off a 40-meter run by rounding Burgess and driving in the ball in the 72nd.
The finals start on Friday at Trinidad's Haseley Crawford Stadium in the capital of Port-of-Spain.

SUNDAY JANUARY 7TH ATO BOLDON STADIUM TRINIDAD - Haiti stormed to victory against Bermuda today with a 2-0 win at the Group J opening match in Ato Boldon stadium, Trinidad. Haiti, supported by a loyal band of vocal supporters, dominated the opening minutes of the match. Their efforts were soon rewarded as in the eight minute of the game a superb cross by Cadet Eliphane found the net and gave Haiti a 1-0 lead.
Bermuda were quickly back on the attack but Haiti’s relentless pressure allowed them to kept the ball dangerously close to the Bermuda goal for much of the first 45 minutes. As half time drew nearer, pressure mounted on Bermuda to get a score on the board before the break. This was to no avail however, as the first half closed with the dominant Haiti leading 1-0.
The second half kicked off with Haiti once again dominating the play. Injury halted the game again with Haiti’s Normil Yvesner and Bermuda’s Khano Smith, clashing heads as they jumped for a ball. Yvenser was stretchered off making way for replacement Lormera Roody.
As the clock drew closer to 70 minutes, Haiti ramped up their attack and substituted Baptiste Fritzon for Chery Mones. The fresh legs gave the team an extra bounce with Lormera Roody tearing up the field, hotly perused by two Bermuda defenders. Roody made a valiant shot at goal and successfully found the net.
As the match entered the last 15 minutes, the pace quickened and the Haiti supporters became even more vocal. Bermuda, desperate to get a score on the board, struggled to keep a determined Haiti at bay but it was not to be their day.
Haiti and Bermuda will return to the same stadium on Tuesday 9th to face each other once again and determine which team will progress to the Digicel Caribbean Cup Finals which commence this Friday 12th.
