Hi guys i make kits for Fifa 2005 and i thought some of you who play,might like the kits for the Warriors,to put into the game....have fun..............

Sam this is for PC... if yuh create the team... yuh could import these kits into the game...
fifaconcacaf have a patch that adds all concacaf teams as well as WCQ and the Gold Cup in de game so yuh could try that.

hey Feliziano.....thats cool man,good to see you here.....Nah i'm not a Trini but i follow all the teams everywhere you know?....Like,when i make some kits for a team like the Warriors,i like to find the supporters sites and give them the kits.Somebody might like them for the game you know?I done the same thing for a lot of smaller teams and Countries. I like to make the kits for " Less fashionable" clubs and National squads 'cos most kitmakers only wanna do the big clubs,and its hard for fans of ,say the Warriors, to get up to date kits for their team.Then i join the fan site and i find out whats going on in your team and it brings me closer to to them.So now i will follow the Warriors with interest, and root for them ,'cos i dig the vibe from you guys.Thanks for replying man,and say hello next time you are at Soccergaming yeah? ;D

Some of the traditional countries have some disappointing styles and patterns and the material looking substandard but Portugal, Turkey and Uruguay come good with they design this rounds.

"I believe that Leeds took their colours from the great Real Madrid team of the 50s," writes Neil Connolly. "I also heard that Juventus took their colours from Notts County. Are there any other clubs who took their kit from different teams?"
We might as well start with Arsenal, Neil, who pinched their dark red shirts from Nottingham Forest. "In 1895 a selection of Forest players joined the squad, bringing their old kit along with them," explains the Arsenal website. "Arsenal's economic resources were not as they are today. The club decided the most inexpensive way of acquiring a strip was to kit out the team in the same colour as the ex-Forest players."

In turn, Sparta Prague took their dark red kit from the Gunners' shirt, while Ajax's 1911 kit owed its white shorts to Arsenal's early look. When he arrived in 1925, Gunners manager Herbert Chapman came up with their more familiar look after spotted someone at the ground wearing a red sleeveless sweater over a white shirt. And that itself has been copied by current Portuguese league leaders Sporting Braga. They're even nicknamed the 'arsenalistas'.
Arsenal's north London rivals Tottenham didn't come up with their own kit either, according to Wikipedia. "At first Hotspur played in navy blue shirts," it says. "The club colours then varied from light blue and white halved jerseys (as a tribute to the then-classy Blackburn Rovers), to red shirts and blue shorts, through chocolate brown and old gold and then, in the 1899-1900 season, to white shirts and navy blue shorts as a tribute to Preston, the most successful team of the time."
The history of Barcelona's shirt is far from black and white (badoom tsh!). Most people believe their famous blue and red shirts come from FC Basel's colours, since their founder, Hans Kamper (later to adopt the Catalan name Joan Gamper), was from Switzerland and had played for Basel.
However, in his history of Barça, called, er, Barça, writer Jimmy Burns contends that it was in fact one of the club's first players, Englishman Arthur Witty, who exported the colours from Merseyside - Crosby's Merchant Taylor's School, to be precise. "Arthur claimed he drew on his old school colours for the maroon and blue that were to become Barça's," says Burns. "In correspondence with Arthur's son Frederick in 1975, the school's then-headmaster Reverend H M Luft reinforced this claim. In a letter, which I have seen, Reverend Luft states: 'I think it is very likely that the present colours of FC Barcelona are ultimately derived from our original colours here.'"
Also the subject of keen debate is Athletic Bilbao's kit, which changed from blue and white stripes to red and white stripes in 1910. Some reckon the red comes from the fact that the club was set up by English miners who had sailed from Southampton and Sunderland. There's also a theory that a trip to England yielded no blue and white tops, forcing the change. But "the most credible theory," according to Wikipedia (again), "is that red and white were the cheapest stripes to make because the same combination was used to make mattresses. The leftover cloth was easily converted into football shirts. Although both Athletic Bilbao and Atlético Madrid started out with blue and white stripes, the discovery of a cheaper option probably persuaded them to change. The Madrid club did it first and they became known as Los Colchoneros (the mattress-makers)."
And Sunderland didn't even come up with their shirts themselves: they were a gift from fellow northeasterners South Bank FC. The Mackems had run into financial strife - reputedly even raffling off a canary to keep things ticking over - and called their neighbours for help. South Bank responded by sending their kit - red and white striped shirts and black shorts. Sunderland expressed their gratitude by thrashing them 7-0 in the 1887-88 season.
Let's move south now, where Crystal Palace borrowed their claret and blue strip from Aston Villa - literally; the Villans lent them some kit when they got going in the early 1900s. In the 1970s, manager Malcolm Allison changed Palace's kit to the red and blue stripes we know today in homage to Barcelona (and pinched the nickname "Eagles" from Benfica to boot).
According to Peter Stoker, Allison was also responsible for Manchester City's red and black shirts; during his stint as assistant manager he decided the colours would turn them into AC Milan. "It certainly worked for a while," Peter says. "City lifted the FA Cup, the League Cup and the European Cup Winner's Cup in two seasons while wearing it."
Meanwhile, Celtic's famous shirts were inspired by Scotland's first Irish club, Hibs, who wore the green and white hoops (and the Irish Harp) from their inception in 1875. But Queen's Park enjoy the best bragging rights, says Richard Johnstone - their colours were adopted by the Scottish national team. "Queen's Park instigated the first ever known international fixture when they played England in Glasgow on St Andrew's day in 1872," says the club's website. "The Scotland team comprised entirely of Queen's Park players, who wore their club jerseys - dark blue in colour, the same dark blue as worn today by the national team."
In turn, the dark blue of Scotland was adopted by Millwall Rovers when a mixture of Scottish and English workers from Morton's Jam Factory founded the team in 1885. According to James Murray's Lions of the South, they "were convinced they could form a football team to give other local clubs a tough time." Indeed.
And if you think there's something of Sweden in Boca Juniors' colours, you'd be right. "The team wore black and white stripes until challenged to a play-off by another club with a similar kit in 1906," explains Stuart Condie, "with the winner retaining the colours and the loser switching. Boca lost, and, having no alternative planned, opted to adopt the colours of the next ship to enter Buenos Aires harbour. The ship was Swedish."
Blackpool, meanwhile, owe their orange strip to the Dutch. "I seem to recall reading that the team changed strips after a club director took a trip to the Netherlands in the 1930s," says Eugene McMahon, "and was so impressed with the national side's colours that he imposed them on the Seasiders as soon as he returned." MLS outfit Real Salt Lake take their kit from that of the Spanish national side, says Michael Lazarus, while Joe Russo reminds us that Japanese side Urawa Red Diamonds play in a kit almost identical to Manchester United's - and are even sponsored by Vodafone.
And what about Juventus? According to Notts County, Juve were sick of their dashing pink shirts fading in the wash, so asked English player John Savage to seek help from home. One call to a County supporter later, and Juventus has the kit they still sport today.

"Is there a rule that Premiership teams must always wear their first-choice colours when playing at home?" wondered Gareth Morgan in 2003 after stumbling across highlights of Newcastle wearing all blue against Sheffield Wednesday at St James' Park in 1993-94.
Well, you'd have thought so, Gareth, but it seems this is not the case. According to a Premier League spokesman, it's up to the two teams what kit they wear. "But if there's a clash of kits," he adds, "commonsense prevails, and the away team changes."
Apparently, the kit men from both sides usually discuss in advance whether there's going to be a clash and act accordingly. But on that fateful, epoch-making day in 1993-94, it turned out that both Sheffield Wednesday's home and away kits were too similar to Newcastle's traditional black and white stripes. "We offered to change instead," is the simple explanation offered by the Newcastle press office. Which is why they suddenly found themselves - quite within the rules - wearing all blue.
This surprisingly laisser-faire approach presumably explains why, on the final day of last season, Spurs took to the field against Blackburn at White Hart Lane wearing next season's away strip. One reader, Andy Abrahams, calls this "a staggeringly cynical, but wholly typical, marketing stunt", and Spurs duly lost 4-0 for their troubles. But, hey, they weren't breaking any rules.

The store owner told me two weeks ago, Adidas decided that no Kits will be sold in Canada, especially Toronto !
I was outraged at the fact we have one of the three largest populations of Trinbagonians in the World, if not the largest outside of Trinbago have been left out of being able to gain access to our team jerseys?
The owner went on to say that Adidas said they don't think they will make any profit up here in Toronto and Canada as a whole. Adidas distributors and marketing could kiss my ass, we have over 100,000 Trinbagonians in Canada and they are contemplating that the jersey wouldn't make money here? I beg to differ, I am in the process of writting a letter to Adidas and contacting them to sort this issue out. The Consul General and High Commission of Trinidad and Tobago to Canada will definately hear about this, also TTFF and Mr.Warner.
I will not allow this to blow over, I will have to organize the people up here to fight Adidas for their insolence and impotent economic sense.

First of all I am pretty sure there are much more than 100,000 Trinis in Canada. TO alone must have more than that, especially if its the 3rd largest population outside of Trini.
I am also pretty sure all the like minded Trinis like yourself will find a way to buy the Jersey, so I dont think there will be much revenue lost.

Listen fellas.........I was talking with the manager of a sports store up here, he say that Adidas wasnt going to bring the jersey however he made it a personal crusade of his to bring the T&T jersey and the Ghana jersey as he has had numerous request. He took my number and said that we call as soon as he gets word from his Adidas rep. So fellas don't worry we in this together!!!!

Very hard to understand.
The city of TO, goes crazy during the WC. Hard to believe that Adidas thinks that they won't do well there.

I just called yonge sports, which is the closest location to me in Toronto, and they said that adidas isn't making a jersey for Trinidad and Tobago in Canada. Only a supporters jersey.
What the hell is that? I want my tnt kit in Canada! Do we have to win the bloody World Cup in order to get a jersey to be sold in Canada?
We need to keep nagging adidas to bring the kit up to the North to Canada. Or else, this kit is going to have a lot of ebay value to those in North America. I just hope my family in Trinidad can grab we one before they get sold out there.

I posted this in another thread, but I wanted to make sure that people saw this.
On socawarriorstt.com's message board, I read a rumor that the TT kit would not be made available in the UK or Canada. I called Adidas customer relations and their Soccer Team division in Adidas US Corporate headquarters. Both sources indicate that there are no current plans to make the TT replica kit available in the US. The rep in the Soccer Team division is doing additional research; if he provides me with more info, I'll pass the update along to the message board.
Has anyone had other dealings with Adidas to confirm or deny what I found? If this is true, then Adidas is doing a very poor job; it's up to us as consumers to let them know it. For those in the US, send complaints to consumer.relations@adidasus.com. I'm sure others can post similar email addresses for other word markets.

I have spoken to Adidas and they told me that it would be available in the UK. They also told me to check a few websites (subsidesports.com was one, I cant remember the others). I can see no reason why it wouldnt go on sale in England, you can get any football kit in the world here.

UPDATE: I spoke to Adidas, they've provided me with a style number: 051568. This number should work with Adidas' online store (the replicas won't be available until April 25); if not, the style number can be used to contact their customer relations department. The rep mentioned that they were working on putting in a large order to ramp up production on this ASAP, so good news all around.

Some time back, I contacted TOFFS company (www.toffs.com) looking for a replica of a vintage TT football kit. They didn't carry any in stock; but they did say that if I sent in a few good, clear pictures of the kits, they may be able to create a replica.
The TOFFS kits are great quality (I bought a replica of Zaire's national kit circa 1974 from them, and I've received a lot of compliments); it'd be great to have them recreate a classic TT kit from the 60s or 70s. Does anyone have pictures of TT kits from that era? If so, please post on the board. If we can gather up a few, perhaps TOFFS will take it from there.

Went in Sports World weekend just as they get them. $400 for short sleeve. $500 for log sleeve. These are the official ones. Check a rack and the same damn jersey minus the TTFF logo is $174. When I asked how many were sent, she said they only received 24!!! And for that matter, there are only 49 in the UK at the moment!!!!
WTF!!! How de hell can adidas make such a serious error in judgement. So because we are the smallest nation in the world cup, we only get a token few jerseys? Steups! There are over 20,000 trinis in the UK, and I am sure at least 2,000 or 3,000 of these are willing to buy a kit to support the boys. After yuh make people wait like an ass for June 9th when you say the kit will finally be released, yuh only send 24? Steups!
So I now have to try and find who selling this kit in the UK. Anybody know of any RELIABLE online stores?

Nike's World Cup sponsorship strategy sails wide

As France's forward Thierry Henry drove the soccer ball past goalkeeper Dida this weekend, the tall forward dashed more than Brazil's hopes for a sixth World Cup title.
He also frustrated Nike Inc.'s bets on the storied South American team.
The Beaverton, Ore.-based company invested heavily in the World Cup tournament, sponsoring six of the 32 participating teams, including Brazil. This strategy held promise to improve Nike's lacklustre performance in Europe, where the tournament is being held, but has backfired, analysts say, although Portugal -- another team it is sponsoring -- remains in the tournament.
And Brazil's early exit is only the latest in a string of reversals for the world's largest shoe maker.
Last week, Nike said profit for its fourth quarter dropped 5 per cent to $332.8-million (U.S.), or $1.27 a share, from $349.5-million or $1.30 for the same period last year. Its shares fell $3.09, or 3.7 per cent, to $80.54 per cent last Wednesday, the day of the announcement. Nike shares rose 33 cents and closed at $81.33 Monday on the New York Stock Exchange, leaving the stock with a decline of 6 per cent so far this year.
Quarterly sales margins narrowed to 43.8 per cent from 45.2 per cent as the company absorbed an increase in oil prices.
"We set prices in advance, so when you have price increases for oil or labour, it starts to move into our cost structure over time," Don Blair, Nike's chief financial officer, said during a conference call with analysts last week.
Given the setbacks, France's resounding defeat over Brazil on Saturday added insult to injury, as Les Bleus were wearing the stripes of Nike's archrival adidas AG.
The Bavaria-based shoe maker, which designed the soccer ball and will be the official sponsor of the 2010 World Cup, is also benefiting from Germany's and France's ascension to the semifinals. Both teams are sporting the adidas logo.
"As the tournament progressed, adidas had the better picks," said analyst Christian Nagstrup of Denmark-based Jyske Bank.
According to the Financial Times, Nike is paying Brazil $13-million a year to wear the swoosh logo on its jerseys. "It's many people's views that perhaps it didn't pay off," Mr. Nagstrup said.
The analyst said Nike's setbacks at the World Cup will hurt the shoe maker in the long run.
Last week, Mr. Nagstrup downgraded his "buy" rating to an "accumulate" rating, slashing his 12-month target price from $100 to $87.
He said he expected Nike sales in Europe to be dogged by the strong performance of Puma AG and adidas.
The company's sales rose to $15-billion, from $13.7-billion for the fiscal year. While Nike's future international orders increased 5 per cent to $6.6-billion for deliveries between June and November, future orders for Europe increased by only 1 per cent.
These results were dampened by the announcement that inventory levels have increased by 15 per cent this year, significantly more than the company's future orders.
This is because, customers in Europe and Japan are increasingly gravitating toward the leaner, more tapered and less expensive running shoes manufactured by Puma and adidas, said Christopher Svezia at New-York based Susquehanna Financial Group LLP. In turn, Nike's higher-end sneakers are losing traction, Mr. Svezia added.
The company might have to resort to discounts, which could make a dent in its bottom line, Mr. Svezia said.
The company "was caught off guard by how strong this kind of fusion, European style was," Mr. Svezia said, adding that the swoosh is "out of favour in Japan, out of favour in Europe."
In a report released last week, Mr. Svezia rated the company's stock as "neutral" with a 12-month target price of $83.63. However, he remains confident in Nike's future.
"I think they will at some point in time get their issues fixed," he said. "Nike has phenomenal financials, . . . it's still a good business and a great brand."

The kit has three stripes / bands instead of the two this season, a special inscription around the Barcelona club badge marking Camp Nou’s 50 years, plus the Unicef logo, the LFP logo on the right sleeve, the traditional Nike swoosh and the famous inscription “mes que un club” as well.

Boy i could cut dat decent and not look like if i a traffic beacon! Dat baby blue eh bad....it more a italian style of kit...in terms of the softness of the colour....but it eh horrible. Look the dragon on the back (always thought it was a cobra) and the inter milan emblem on the centre of the chest and on the sleeve in rubber. they doh make dem kit so again these days.
ah tell yuh, anytime i used to rock this jersey home i used to always get stop and ask where i get that by nuff people.
the only other inter kit that come close was a white kit with a blue and black going across the front.. Used to have a Adriano in that.

Fans groups have hit out at the increased number of Premier League clubs who are launching a new home shirt every season.
In 2000, the Premier League charter pledged that replica strips would be released every two seasons to save fans digging into their pockets too often.
But 18 clubs issued a new home shirt last season and all 20 Premier League clubs are doing the same this term.
Tottenham have launched three new kits every year for six seasons in a row.
The north London club have also decided that a different sponsor will adorn their home, second and third kits for Cup games this season, meaning there will be six shirts on offer, costing £45 each on the club's website.
Arsenal and Liverpool are the only teams who are releasing a new kit this season, who did not do so last term.
While Premier League clubs are within their rights to release a new home kit every season, the extent of the current situation is in stark contrast to recommendations made by the Football Task Force, chaired by former MP David Mellor, which were included in the 2000 Premier League charter to give fans a fairer deal.
The group's suggestions, which also included issues around ticket pricing, encouraged clubs to ensure a two-year gap between new replica shirts, which led to clubs releasing home and away shirts in alternate years.

Most clubs, including many in the Football League, now issue third strips and commemorative jerseys, but Arsenal and Liverpool still say in their customer charters that "home shirts will have a minimum lifespan of two seasons" although the Gunners stipulate that there may be exceptions.
"This gives the shirt more longevity in comparison to releasing one every season and our fans better value for money," a Liverpool spokesman told BBC Sport.
According to Premier League rules clubs must "allow for market research to be undertaken with regard to the frequency of strip changes and to its design".
They must also "identify the intervals at which strip changes are intended to take place and the date of the next intended change" and each club's customer charter must be available to the public, outlining its policy with regard to ticketing and merchandise.
But Tottenham Supporters Trust chairman Bernie Kingsley said his group had not been consulted, while Football Supporters Federation chairman Malcolm Clarke labelled the club's decision to offer six new shirts as "frankly ridiculous".
Kingsley told BBC Sport: "The club do talk to us but any decisions that might affect their income revenue they don't generally consult us.
"Last season we said that we didn't like the yellow stripe on the home shirt and asked if it could be changed, but the club said if they changed it based on what the fans said they would be considered a laughing stock."
Kingsley said the request had been based on a similar discussion between fans of the Dutch club Feyenoord where supporters' requests were granted.
Birmingham City have also just launched a new kit for the coming season where fans chose the design from four on offer.
A Tottenham spokesman denied Kingsley's claims and told BBC Sport: "Our aim going forward was to continue to meet demand for greater variety and choice in all of the merchandise ranges that we offer, including replica kit.

"As a result the club took the decision from the start of season 2005/06 that all our replica kits would have a one-year lifespan and we regularly discuss subjects such as this at our quarterly meetings with the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Trust."
Clarke said: "I think Spurs' actions are frankly ridiculous. Given the price of watching football in London you have to be very rich to be a Spurs fan already. If you're paying for six shirts that would be about £250."
Kingsley added: "It is down to the individual whether to buy them or not but in the current financial climate I think the club should be more sensitive.
"The club will argue that by issuing new kits it provides more revenue streams in which to buy new players and some supporters will go along with that, but it's just another example of football ceasing to be a sport and more a business."
Manchester United and Manchester City are another two clubs who have both released new home and away shirts for the coming season having done the same thing last term.
Allan Galley, chairman of the Manchester City Supporters Club said: "People do want to wear them as a way of relating to the club, but I think it's unfair to bring them out every season at £45 each.
"It's not a popular policy. Young children like to wear them too, but it's not as if they are particularly cheap for them either."
But Mark Longden of the Independent Manchester United Supporters Association said: "If you are daft enough to buy a new football shirt every season then that is up to you.
"You don't have to buy them, the only thing that concerns me is the ticket prices and the club have not put them up this season, so it doesn't directly affect me."
Former sports minister Kate Hoey, who was in government when the Football Task Force was active, said the issue was more relevant for people who could not afford to go to football matches but added that parents had to take a firm stand against persuasive children.
"The Premier League clubs are a law unto themselves and if people keep buying them then they will keep selling them," she told BBC Sport.
"I don't take the line where children come home and say, 'everybody else has got a shirt why can't I have one?' I was brought up in an era where I was told by my parents, 'we can't afford it, sorry'."

Marvin Andrews encourages college students to donate kits to Malawi

Former Rangers and Hamilton star Marvin Andrews is backing a campaign to donate football strips to a project in Malawi.
South Lanarkshire college students have been collecting shirts and construction tools and donating them to the Raven Trust who will be taking them to the African country in the new year.
The unusual mix of equipment is to help the Christian charity build and repair facilities and property in the region - but also give people in Malawi play sports too.
In some cases, the lack of sporting equipment is so bad that children are using blown-up plastic bags as footballs.
Marvin Andrews said it was important to give youngsters in the poverty-stricken country the equipment they need to play the game, especially as he’s experienced both sides of the footballing coin.
He said: “We’re giving these youths opportunity, you never know you might see one of them in Scottish or English football because somebody gave them the opportunity to start.
“Many people and children in Britain don’t know what poverty is. Yes, there’s poverty everywhere, but people don’t know what it’s like to not eat for a week or not have clothes to wear or have shoes on your feet.
“I know what it’s like playing football bear foot not having trainers, I did that in Trinidad and Tobago before I came and people saw me and someone gave me a chance.
“These things give people awareness. What the college is doing is showing it’s not just about people here, but giving people in Malawi the opportunity to make something of their life.
“This is always a great honour to be part of stuff like this. Life is not just about receiving, but giving. This is the greatest thing that any human being can do - the opportunity to have something in life and become something in life.”
The football strips and tools will be taken over to Malawi by the Raven Trust, which is based in Strachur, near Dunoon.
It is run by volunteers who help provide practical skills and essential supplies to Malawi.
John Challis will be man taking the boxes over to the country next year. His local church had a link with the community and had a problem with shipping, which happened to be John’s profession.
He then managed to get a few parcels out to Malawi and it has grown ever since.
John said: “Malawi has tremendous links with this area. I get involved with all the practical projects like building and painting.
“Many of the young people out there haven’t got luxuries, but they’re keen on playing football. Anywhere you go in the country there’ll be a football field, even in the most remote areas.
“They don’t have footballs, they use plastic bags and blown up condoms. To provide them with strips and footballs they’ll be very grateful. The tools are also tremendous.
“We’ve sent about 84 containers over the last 12 years and they’re very much appreciated, going to the remote centres and hospitals.
“It’s hopefully the start of a long partnership with this college.”
Des Brown, a construction lecturer at the college, organised the programme from the college’s side of things.
He said: “The Raven Trust take anything from football strips to cuddly toys, dental equipment and anything that people in Malawi need.
“We started the project last year, asking students to bring unwanted football strips, balls and boots along with that the construction department have donated a lot of tools as well like trowels and other stuff that will come in use with rebuilding projects as well.
“The college has done things for Malawi in the past but this is the first we’ve donated anything. We’ve always talked about doing it.
“It also helps some student’s NPA (National Progression Award) which is like a Standard Grade.
"They can come here with no qualifications at all and come out with an NPA in construction which will give them life skills and skills they didn’t realise they had.”

A newly-designed uniform kit for all national teams will be unveiled on July 1 at a venue to be announced in Port-of-Spain. This is among several new concrete developments that have come about in recent weeks aimed at improving the image and operations of the local governing football body.
Its president Raymond Tim Kee will use the opportunity to speak on some of the new steps initiated and carried out by himself and recently appointed general secretary Sheldon Phillips and the executive committee.
Among them is the switch back to the T&T Football Association (TTFA) which was first incorporated by an Act of Parliament in 1982. The TTFF logo was also used in an international match for the final time on Friday in T&T’s friendly against Estonia in Tallinn and a new logo will be unveiled as well.
“This is a new era for our football and we are extremely satisfied about some of these new developments and equally excited about it,” Tim Kee said. “The TTFA is now back and we are pleased about this direction we’ve taken. This has been under discussions for some time now since I took office in December. The executive committee met a couple weeks ago to ratify this among other steps that we are taking which includes a new logo for the association.”
An improved approach involving the business and operations of our national teams at all levels, the development programmes and other projects will take focus in the coming months according to Tim Kee.Tim Kee also met with president of the Romanian Football Association Mircea Sandu as he led a TTFA delegation which included Phillips and director of communications Shaun Fuentes.
“President Sandu and the Romanian Federation were most gracious hosts. They left nothing undone with regards to ensuring our stay was most comfortable and enjoyable. The national team was afforded luxurious accommodation in the heart of Bucharest and the opportunity to train at some excellent facilities in Bucharest and Buftea,” Tim Kee said.
The TTFA president said discussions were also held about continuing relationships with the Romanian and the Estonian Federations.
“We were able to exchange some ideas and they have agreed to share with us some of the measures and approaches they have applied over the years, particularly with the structure of their Federation and the operations of their Leagues Romania has a rich football history and they must have been doing something right and Estonia have also made some inroads.
Both countries have expressed a willingness to maintain this relationship and possibly pay us a visit in the future,” Tim Kee added.

Why not just rebrand the Strike Squad kit? I'm not sure if it's a Rossi copyrited item but if it isn't, I'd like to see that be our uniforms. Just like Argentina is know for the stripes and Brazil is known for their simplicity, we need something and we should stick to it, regardless of brand.

… Tim Kee promises ethical, self sufficient body.

Spanish sporting apparel company Joma has officially put pen to paper on a five-year partnership with the T&T Football Association (TTFA).
This was officially proclaimed yesterday when the TTFA revealed the new on-field and training kits, as well as the association’s new logo at the Queen’s Park Oval, Port-of-Spain. Joma replaces Adidas as the official kit provider for all national teams which falls under the purview of the TTFA.
The kits, insignia and a new TTFA Web site, which will soon be launched, are among several developments disclosed by TTFA president Raymond Tim Kee who described the upgrades as a rebranding of the association’s image, which has for the past several years (while known as the TTFF) been stigmatised for questionable business and accounting practices as well detachment between players and the TTFF’s hierarchy.
The five-year deal comes with a new design of a home and an away kit, a jacket, a training kit, traveling wear and casual wear, through the local distributor Sportway Ltd. The senior national team will sport the new apparel when they kick off their Concacaf Gold Cup campaign against El Salvador, next Monday.
Tim Kee and recently appointed TTFA technical director Sheldon Phillips, spoke on the vision of a self-sustainable association, which aims at having every team, from the beach soccer outfit to the men’s senior team, qualify for a Fifa competition by 2018.
“This represents our symbol of excellence in a new era of football in our country,” said Tim Kee, to the audience and special guests, which included the Spanish ambassador to T&T Joaquin de Aristegui.
“For just over a half decade, we have struggled to qualify for the (con)federation’s signature competition that is the Gold Cup tournament, and we have not experienced success. This period (last six years) was also one that defined by infighting between administrators and players, coaches and administrators, and even referees and referees’ assistants.”
“As I say quite often, it is always better to reconstruct than to renovate, and trying to renovate what we had would have been a task that was unsurmountable, tedious and labourious and therefore we thought that we should start from the beginning.”
He added, “We have looked from within and began to change our value systems. We wanted to chart our landscape with qualities that would define us as a good and noble corporate citizen.
We want our organization to be remembered as transparent and accountable because we want to show those who invest in the business of football, that when contributions are given to us that they are spent in the same manner in which they were promised.”
“One of the decisions we have taken is that we are going to be self sufficient. We have engaged for the first time in history of (our) football, as far as I know, a marketing team that is dedicated exclusively for looking at income streams and other marketing initiatives.”
Tim Kee also revealed the incorporation of an independent review committee, of which its primary function will be to observe and analyze the structure, governing statutes and the financial state of affairs.
No confirmation has been made on who will head the committee, but the membership will include Senior Council Elton Prescott, T&T Olympic Committee president Brian Lewis, former national senior football team manager and Fifa development officer Richard Braithwaite, renowned journalist Dr Sheila Rampersad. Former national goalkeeper and current football analyst Neil Shaka Hislop has also been invited to sit on the commission.
According to Tim Kee, director of the T&T chapter of Transparency International, Deryk Murray was invited to head the committee to oversee transparency and had originally agreed, but later asked to be excused, due to his many current obligations.
After making the revelation Tim Kee said, “We really want to change the image. We really want to look, not only at transparency, but indeed accountability and truth and all the nice values we’ve pursued.”
It is understood that Prescott, who is also an independent senator, will review the TTFA constitution and recommend necessary amendments.

In T&T most fans come out in a red TSTT shirt or red Carib shirt and so on. Unless we full up de stadium with the official kit. The only time these big companies will sign us is if we in the world cup. we just don't generate enough profit for them.

The site last week launched a series of casual wear that profiles Trinidad and Tobago’s football with use of the official TTFA emblem. A number of casual tees, tank tops, hoodies, sweaters and kids apparel are now available for online purchase from anywhere in the world. The official TTFA replica kit will also be available via the site in October.

The shirt which was signed by members of the National Senior Men’s Team in Saudi Arabia last week, will be framed and put on display at the country’s biggest sports bar. The TTFA will continue its drive to have a visual presence at different locations throughout the country.

As an aside....we had a match in Manhattan some years ago starting at 10pm. Kitman had to come from about 1 hr away. He reach de venue at 10.15 and de kit wasn't washed from the last match :frustrated:

Jamaica has always been more organise and serious than T&T, this is the reason they also get more support from fans and spnosors.
When the TTFA gets their acts together things will get better.
I would love to support my team and buy one of these shirts, but certainly not the one above, our latest kit sucks.

“We can’t even get worked up anymore!” TTFA Board bemused over mysterious kit deal.

Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) president David John-Williams has apparently left the local football body’s Board in the dark again, as the Soca Warriors have suddenly taken to wearing Capelli Sport outfits on the cusp of the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup tournament.
The change appears to signal a switch from Joma, which outfitted the national teams for the past three years. But what are the terms of the new deal, if there is one in place?
At least two TTFA Board members said John-Williams never tabled a discussion on potential kit deals with the Board, much less informed them of a new supplier for the Warriors.
Trinidad and Tobago Super League (TTSL) president Keith Look Loy said he had never heard of Capelli Sport before he spotted photographs of players wearing the brand with a TTFA logo on their trip to Japan last weekend.
“We know nothing about a change of sponsor,” said Look Loy. “In my tenure [as a Board member], which began since March of last year, we have never discussed sponsorship or a kit agreement for the national team. I learned of it through the general public; we know nothing about it.”
Colin Partap, who represents the Central Football Association (CFA) on the TTFA Board, heard about Capelli Sport for the first time when Wired868 contacted him for comment.
“I have never heard of them; and I would figure if we have a new sponsor then that is something we should have a press conference about, to give [the Warriors and the sponsor] a nice send off for the Gold Cup,” said Partap. “In my view, you would only change sponsors if it is a nice move to make financially, so I hope it is a nice move [for the TTFA]. But we are completely in the dark.”
Article 20.2 of the TTFA Constitution describes the Board of Directors as ‘the Executive body’ of the local football organisation with authority over everything, including the hiring and firing of coaches, standing committee members, auditors and the general secretary.
And Article 36(a) states the Board of Directors ‘shall pass decisions on all cases that do not come within the sphere of responsibility of the General Meeting or are not reserved for other bodies by law or under this Constitution.’
So was Partap perturbed that John-Williams may have entered the TTFA into a contract without Board approval or so much as informing his colleagues?
“We have reached a position where we cannot even get worked up about things like this anymore,” said Partap. “To tell you the truth, I am not surprised…”
Neither John-Williams nor general secretary Camara David responded to Wired868’s requests for information on Capelli Sport and their arrangement with the TTFA.
John-Williams’ stance is in stark contrast to the behaviour of his regional colleague and Guyana Football Association president, Wayne Forde, who informed the Guyanese public of their own business with Capelli Sport at a press conference over a month ago.
“We’re still working out the pieces of the final agreement with Capelli Sport, but no doubt there’s a commitment on both [signs] for an agreement,” Forde told the Guyana Times, “and we will announce some of the key details once the dotted lines are signed off.
“[…] We’re very pleased so far with all of the engagements we’ve been having with Capelli Sport and we look forward to a fruitful couple of years.”
Capelli Sport is an eight year old apparel company owned by George Altirs, a New Yorker of Lebanese extraction. According to its website, its kit is worn by the Lebanon national football team as well as three European clubs: AEK Athens (Greece), MSV Duisburg (Germany) and HB Koge (Denmark).
Incidentally, Koge employs uncapped Trinidad and Tobago goalkeeper Nicklas Frenderup.
The lack of transparency and protocol apart—along with the potential legal issues of a TTFA deal that is not sanctioned by its board—the Capelli Sport arrangement seemed to get off to a scrappy start with players as well.
For the Japan trip, one Warriors player, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said footballers were given Capelli Sport jerseys but no accompanying tracks pants. So, national players travelled with Joma or Adidas pants and Capelli tops.
And even as coach Dennis Lawrence got his final 23-man squad together in Los Angeles in preparation for their international friendly against Canada on 10 June, the team seemed to be at least one Capelli Sport outfit short. Goalkeeper Greg Ranjitsingh was shown training in a Joma kit alongside his teammates yesterday. Such wardrobe malfunctions are not unusual for national teams.
Last year, Women’s National Senior Team goalkeeper Saundra Baron shared her humiliation when she was given a training jersey to wear at the Concacaf Championship.
“On the first game day of the Concacaf Championship, I didn’t even have a TTFA badge or number on my game jersey,” said Baron, in a three-part series with Wired868. “If that doesn’t paint the picture of how disrespected I was as a National Team player, I don’t know what will.
“I will never forget that moment, that I wasn’t even valued enough to have a badge on my jersey. I felt so embarrassed when the referees came into the locker room to do jersey checks.”
Ironically, John-Williams and David spent this week in France where they were guests at the FIFA Women’s World Cup. Neither commented on Sport Minister Shamfa Cudjoe’s claim that John-Williams said he would not allow the National Under-23 Team to participate in the 2020 Olympic qualifying series even if he did have money to send them.
As such, according to Cudjoe, John-Williams did not ask the government for financial support for the National Under-23 Team, which should have been coached by Angus Eve.
John-Williams’ decision essentially ended the Tokyo Olympic dreams of a talented pool of players that includes: Judah Garcia, Jabari Mitchell, Levi Garcia, Kathon St Hillaire, Kierron Mason, Isaiah Hudson, Kishon Hackshaw, Che Benny, Jaydon Prowell, Jarred Dass, Martieon Watson, Justin Sadoo, Noah Powder, Kareem Riley, Keston Julien, Tyrel ‘Pappy’ Emmanuel, Isaiah Garcia, Nickell Orr and John-Paul Rochford.
Ironically, the former National Under-20 Team that would form the backbone of an Under-23 outfit should one be selected is the only one from eight TTFA teams that had not experienced a drop off in their performances since John-Williams took office. But it did not save them from being scuttled anyway.
The Men’s National Senior Team, according to John-Williams, is the football body’s flagship outfit and a lot is riding on their performances in an election year for the TTFA.
On Wednesday, the Warriors battled to a creditable—albeit fortuitous—goalless draw away to Japan, which provided a welcomed confidence boost to the squad as they prepare for the Gold Cup.
Trinidad and Tobago lost their previous three fixtures by a solitary goal against Wales, Iran and Thailand respectively.
“We got stuck late […] in our previous games before Japan but we were able to come away with a draw this time,” Warriors captain Khaleem Hyland told the TTFA Media, “which shows that we are improving in each match. The coach believes in the quality we have in the team and he showed that he has balls to make changes and try new things like we did against Japan. He gives the squad confidence by making decisions like he has.”
Trinidad and Tobago open their 2019 Gold Cup campaign against Panama on 18 June. The Warriors are also grouped with Guyana and the United States. The top two teams will advance to the knockout round.

Capelli Sport, TTFA sign Gold Cup deal.

The T&T Football Association (T&TFA) has named Capelli Sport the exclusive uniform supplier partner for the national senior men's team for the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup 2019.
The T&TFA had extended an invitation to entities interested in a kit partnership for the Concacaf Gold Cup 2019 following the end of the last sponsorship agreement.
In a release yesterday, the T&TFA said four proposals were received by the T&TFA, based on which Capelli Sport was selected by the Emergency Committee of the T&TFA.
The Emergy Committee which agreed to the deal is made up of T&TFA president David John-Williams, Selby Browne (Veteran Footballers’ Foundation of T&T), Southern Football Association president Richard Quan Chan, T&TFA vice-president Ewing Davis, Tobago Football Association (TFA) president Anthony Moore and Eastern Football Association president (EFA) Bandele Kamau.
The other 13 members of the board are Sherwyn Dyer (Eastern Counties Football Union), Rayshawn Mars (Northern Football Association), Joseph Taylor (T&T Football Referees Association), Sharon Joseph-Warrick (Women’s League Football), Julia Baptiste (T&T Pro League), Keith Look Loy (T&T Super League president) and Central Football Association (CFA) representative Collin Partap.
The T&TFA said it welcomes Capelli Sport as the team's exclusive uniform supplier for the Gold Cup, which kicks off today and ends on July 7.

The Trinidad & Tobago Football Association (TTFA) has secured the largest commercial technical kit deal since qualification for the 2006 FIFA World Cup with a contract valued at TT$25million over the next four-years.
The agreement with international supplier Avec, reflects an association with a proven and experienced brand which has supplied many globally recognised English clubs over the years, such as Crystal Palace, Sunderland, Sheffield United and Bradford City alongside many others in the English and Scottish Football Leagues.
Avec’s history of supplying technical playing and training kit to all levels and age groups from the English Premier League through to academies, schools and colleges has been an important consideration in establishing this new association.
The contract will commence in June 2020 and Avec will supply premium playing kit and training wear to all TTFA representative sides including the men’s and women’s senior sides and all age group categories.
The new range will also be available to fans through physical and online retail outlets meaning fans will be able to wear the same designs of playing and training wear worn by all representative teams.
TTFA President, William Wallace said: “The level of this partnership reflects a landmark moment for the TTFA and we are delighted with the outcome. The challenge was to find a new apparel partner who could provide the best possible commercial outcome and ensure a smooth supply of apparel to every single team on our roster. The search was comprehensive, but our unanimous conclusion was that Avec offered an overall proposition that was a perfect fit in all aspects.
“We now have a deal in place which offers unrivalled terms for the supply of kit at all levels and a Partner who will be agile and responsive to our playing and retail requirements at any given moment.

TTFA’s muddy kit deal reflects a federation that has spiralled out of financial control.

The financial crisis that has engulfed the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) since the election of its new president William Wallace looks unlikely to be eased by the federation’s new kit deal with little known UK appareil company AVEC.
A copy of the ‘Kit Supply Agreement’ signed between the TTFA and AVEC, and seen by Insideworldfootball, states that the federation must, every year of the four-year deal, sell at least 7,500 replica shirts (via its retail partner) as well as spend £125,000 on equipment with AVEC before it can receive any of its national team kit free of charge.
If the targets are not met, the TTFA has to buy its national team match day kit and training kit at the full retail price. All monies are to be paid to AVEC in advance.
Surprisingly AVEC is not paying any license fee to the TTFA for the exclusive use of its logo and marks.
Wallace said that the deal with AVEC was worth TT$25 million to the TTFA but that looks like a difficult figure to substantiate for a deal that looks more likely to cost the TTFA money than make it any.
One kit manufacturer from the UK who wished to remain anonymous, said that it was the kind of kit deal you would associate with an amateur club or local association or league in the UK, and was probably the worst he had ever seen for a national association competing in regional and world competition with the tradition and history of the TTFA.
Nevertheless, the new TTFA has paraded the deal as proof that financially everything is on the right track.

5.6 The Gifted Pro Kit Allowance is given on the agreement between both parties that:
a) the Approved Retail Partner, or such other retail partner(s), as may be notified by the Association to the company in writing (the "Other Retail Partners") will purchase a minimum of 7,500 replica shirts in each contract year from the company; and
b) the Association's sponsors will purchase in each Contract Year a minimum of £125,000 worth of other products at wholesale values, such other products shall include items from the Exclusive Products (but not including the Gifted Pro Kit Allowance) and any other items which appear on the Company's wholesale price list from time to time, and/or any other items made available by the Company from time to time,
and in the event the Approved Retail Partner, the Other Retail Partners or the Association's sponsors fail to reach the minimum purchase requirements under the clause 5.6, the Association agrees to pay the company the full value of the Gifted Pro Kit Allowance already received by the Association.
The TTFA is currently TT$50 million in debt and is in court again today (Monday) facing a garnishee order that has frozen its accounts, leaving it unable to use what little funds it has available in its accounts.
As part of Wallace’s election manifesto that saw him and his United TTFA slate of candidates swept into power, was the statement that a deal with Nike was in the wings. That deal never materialised.
Prior to the AVEC agreement, TTFA’s previous kit sponsor was US fashion brand Cappelli that has been building a position in football kit provision. Cappelli paid a signing-on bonus to the TTFA as well as providing kit free of charge in a deal that covered the Concacaf Gold Cup 2019 and the warm up series held in Japan.
Asked how that kit deal was negotiated, Selby Brown, then a TTFA Board Member and Member of the Emergency Committee, said: “The TTFA Emergency Committee ensured transparency of the tender process by instructing the General Secretary to issue a (rfq) request to several Kit Sponsors for quotation with specific quantities, conditions and timelines with a deadline for submission.
“The list of Kit Sponsors submitted their response to the TTFA RFQ included JOMA, Macron, Puma, Capelli and others.
“The TTFA Emergency Committee reviewed, evaluated and selected Capelli Sport Limited as the successful TTFA Kit Sponsor Partner for the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2019 based on the best quotation conditions which included the following:
1. The Kit supply was at no cost to the TTFA and included a signing bonus paid to the TTFA by Capelli Sports Limited.
2. The term of the contract period was for the duration of the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
The selection of the Emergency Committee was presented to the TTFA Board of Directors for ratification in keeping with the Constitution of the TTFA.”
It is understood that Cappelli were approached by the TTFA but declined to submit a bid.
Browne is sceptical of the process in the award of the new kit contract: “In my capacity as President of the Veteran Footballers Foundation of TT a member of the TTFA in good standing, it would be interesting to discover the process by which the TTFA – Avec Kit Sponsorship Agreement was determined,” he said.
What is more pressing today for the TTFA is facing up to the garnishee order in court. At the last hearing on the order the TTFA failed to turn up. That will not have helped the TTFA in the rearranged hearing set for today. For the TTFA and Wallace the hearing could prove pivotal for the federation’s future. If its accounts are unfrozen it has an opportunity to continue operations. If not, then the it is hard to see where it will ever find the money to buy its next kit.

The retail partner is Sports & Games.
So it is incumbent on Sports & Games to purchase these replicas for resale. I imagine TTFA has a contract with Sports & Games.
7,500 replicas is nothing when you consider all the sizes youth, women etc.

Avec Sports uniforms, gear set to arrive June 1

The first batch of football uniforms and gear to officially jumpstart the deal between UK sportswear supplier Avec Sports and the ousted T&T Football Association under president William Wallace is set to arrive in T&T on June 1.
However, Wallace who is one of two signatures on the contract, is already counting it a lost cause, saying the world governing body for the sport - FIFA, with whom they are battling to remove the Normalisation Committee which was appointed on March 27, has already rejected the sponsorship money because of the involvement of him (Wallace) and his vice presidents Clynt Taylor, Sam Phillips and Susan Joseph-Warrick. The first part of the deal will entitle the shipment of uniforms and gear to outfit all the country's national teams at a value of $1.4 million.
Thereafter the embattled football association will be required to sell £$125,000 or 7,500 replica shirts and other gear for the UK company, and the profit from the sales will be shared 80 for Avec and 20 per cent for the TTFA and Sports and Games, the local distributors.
On Tuesday, Robert Hadad, chairman of the FIFA-appointed Normalisation Committee said he had no comment on the matter via a Whatsapp message.
When contacted Wallace said Hadad has received orders to reject any help deal that was created through the previous Wallace administration.
Wallace said that because they are being considered persona non grata by Hadad and the FIFA, that five other potential contracts that can provide much-needed financial assistance to T&T football have been turned down, including Caribbean Chemicals and Agencies Limited which had decided to pump $1.5 million a year for four years to properly maintain football fields but pulled out of the deal on March 19, while four others which were to be confirmed fell apart after FIFA's Normalization committee was announced.
Guardian Media Sports understands that the TTFA was expected to sign other sponsorship arrangements last March.
Wallace who is also president of the Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) dismissed a claim by former Guyana Football Federation president Clinton Urling that in the case of a normalization committee, the FIFA will provide the funding upon the implementation of a programme to liquidate the debt etc.
Wallace instead referred to one of the mandates of the normalization committee which is to establish a debt repayment plan that is implementable by the TTFA, saying the FIFA never said it will pay off the football association debt.
“I will withdraw my fight with the FIFA in the morning if the FIFA uses its money to clear the debt,” Wallace said.
At present, the TTFA has no uniforms with the expiration of the Joma kit deal in 2018 and the tournament deal with Capelli which was just for the Gold Cup (June 15 to July 7, 2019) could find itself in a mad rush for uniforms with the FIFA World Cup qualifiers, the CONCACAF Gold Cup and other qualifiers and matches to begin soon.
Wallace in a presentation to jumpstart his campaign for TTFA ascendency early last year, listed several sponsorship deals that would come to fruition only once he became TTFA president, inclusive of the contract with world sportswear giants Nike. Yesterday Wallace admitted that the Nike deal was a legit one that was only hampered by people who claim to love the sport but were doing everything in their power to destroy it.
CONCACAF's senior counsel for North American Sports Marketing Zoe Braithwaite said in a release last year that there was no deal between the United T&TFA and global sporting apparel giant Nike.

The administrators of T&T football, the FIFA-appointed Normalisation Committee which is headed by its chairman Robert Hadad and comprises retired banker Nigel Romano and Attorney Judy Daniel, could be bracing for the backlash if the Avec Sports deal is not honoured.
The four-year TT$25 million contracts with the English sportswear suppliers was signed in January with the TTFA and is scheduled to officially take effect on June 1 with the first batch of uniforms set to arrive in T&T.
However, so far, the deal has fallen through because the normalization committee appears reluctant to fulfil the agreement.
In a Guardian Media Sports story a week ago, it was revealed that the uniforms which are to outfit all the country's national teams, from youth to senior level are expected in T&T on Monday 1 June, but the Normalisation Committee acting on the advice of the world governing body for the sport- the FIFA, may not accept it.
FIFA is in a legal battle with the former T&T Football Association members — former president William Wallace and his three vice presidents Clynt Taylor, Joseph Sam Phillip and Susan Joseph-Warrick for its decision to appoint a normalization committee to replace them as the administrators of local football on March 17.
On Monday Wallace and his team took their fight to the High Court in Port-of-Spain after they felt the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS), the only avenue for Member Associations of the FIFA to receive justice, appeared to have been biased in its handlings of the arbitral proceedings between the parties. Wallace's team of lawyers Dr Emir Crowne and Matthew Gayle in a six-page document on Monday said that CAS showed blatant bias by going against the mandatory procedure of the arbitration process by asking them (the ousted TTFA executive) to pay the entire costs ($40,000 Swiss Francs or TT$277, 000) for parties.
Both Wallace and Ramesh Ramdhan, the current TTFA general secretary who signed the Avec contract, refused comment on the deal when contacted. However, Guardian Media Sports understands that the English supplier has already produced the uniforms for its arrival time in T&T.
It is unsure of the amount spend by Avec for the uniforms but Guardian Media attempted to contact According to a source who is close to the development and who spoke to us on the condition of anonymity on Friday said, “Avec would want to retrieve the monies it put out on the production of the uniforms and they would want to be paid. They have already made contact with us.”
The source said, "It is understood that Hadad has concerns about the contract and has been seeking ways to get out of the contract. He already has his hands filled with other TTFA courts matters such as former coach Stephen Hart, and a judgement by the court to pay former technical director Kendall Walkes which has led to the liquidation of the TTFA accounts. The Committee also has to deal with outstanding payments of salaries for the last two months and May is also coming to an end, as well as securing the football association's accounts to conduct business transactions."
From the Avec Sports deal the T&TFA will receive some US$1.4 million in uniforms, but first will be required to sell £125,000 pounds (an estimated TT$1.25 million or sell 7,500 replica shirts and other gear for the English company. The profits from the sales will be shared 80 to 20 per cent respectively to the TTFA and its distributors Sports & Games.
Hadad yesterday, did not respond to a Whatsapp, asking for a comment on the Avec deal.

The amount is only part of what the embattled football association may have to pay, one member of the ousted TTFA team told Guardian Media Sports on Monday, as they brace for the legal implications of not honouring a four-year $25 million deal which was supposed to begin officially yesterday (June 1) with the arrival of uniforms to outfit all the country's football teams.
The contract with Avec Sports was signed by former TTFA president William Wallace and general secretary Ramesh Ramdhan on behalf of the organisation back in January and was scheduled to take effect yesterday (June 1). According to a source close to the matter who spoke to Guardian Media Sports on condition of anonymity, the UK sportswear suppliers have already pumped a significant sum into ensuring that the uniforms are ready.
According to the agreement the TTFA need to sell £125,000 or TT$1.25m or 7, 500 uniforms from Avec. However, the profits of the sales will be shared 8o to the TTFA to 20 per cent to the local distributor which is Sports & Games.
It understood that FIFA is not interested in any contracts that the Wallace-led TTFA, who are now considered persona non grata, had entered into.
The sourced added that Emile Mohammed, who worked alongside former TTFA General Secretary Camara David in the T&T Super League secretariat back in 2017, is an assistant to the Normalisation Committee.
The source said Mohammed attempted to reach out to Avec Sports recently in an attempt to discuss the deal, however, Avec appeared not to be interested since the uniforms were already in production.
Efforts to contact Ramesh Ramdhan, the TTFA General Secretary for an update on the uniforms proved futile.

There is much criticism of the decision to replace the elected leadership of TTFA with a FIFA normalisation committee so early in its tenure. Critics have questioned the timing and put forward all kinds of conspiracy theories as to why the United TTFA team were allowed less than four months at the helm.
Could it be, however, that after visiting TTFA in February, the FIFA representatives saw signs of gross financial mismanagement and poor decision making that had to be nipped in the bud?
With the election of an openly anti-FIFA executive in Trinidad and Tobago, who immediately closed and ridiculed the Home of Football - opened with immense pride by Infantino mere days before - it is obvious that the FIFA president would view the new TTFA regime with contempt.
So when FIFA looked at the debt reduction plans of United TTFA and their first few management decisions, alarm bells started to ring.
The uniform deal with unknown English supplier Avec was announced by United TTFA as a key element of its debt reduction plan. Announcing a deal that would generate TT$25 million over four years, this was the first big piece of business introduced by the new regime.
Unfortunately, William Wallace, who campaigned on a platform of openness, good governance and transparency - negotiated and signed the contract with Avec before obtaining approval or input from its own TTFA board of directors.
And once board members demanded sight of the contract, the then President Wallace refused to distribute copies but instead insisted that the contract could be viewed at the TTFA office, but not be copied and taken away. Thus, directors were forced to attempt to absorb a 16-page contract with figures quoted in both UK and US currencies after attending a board meeting.
On closer inspection, the contract did not appear to be the income reducing Godsend described by United TTFA.
Let's be clear on this: uniform suppliers are there to make money. While giants such as Adidas and Nike will supply free uniforms to big-name nations and clubs, they do so with carefully measured predictions of replica sales. They are forced to negotiate against the other big names to obtain the marketing kudos of equipping World champions and elite sports clubs and teams who have constant media coverage and top name players and coaches.
Sadly, for now, Trinidad and Tobago football do not belong in that category.
But Avec is building a brand and T&T would be a coup that could lead to other national associations coming on board. Still, the company would need to enter a contract that would provide them with financial stability. So the deal offered would always benefit the supplier first.
The Avec contract guarantees the supply of free equipment for TTFA's national men and women's teams at senior, U20, U17, U15 and U13 levels.
The value of this equipment equates to approximately TT$1,300,000 per year, for 4 years. Over TT$5 million worth of equipment. On the face of it, a good deal for TTFA.
But when we look at the contract with Avec agreed by United TTFA without its board approval, some very worrying commitments come to light.
United TTFA has agreed to purchase a minimum of 7,500 replica jerseys each year for 4 years. That figure may seem achievable to a nation playing regular home fixtures and achieving respectable results.
But to a businessman tasked to reducing debt, it's a big concern. The jerseys will each cost TTFA US$29.65 excluding vat (around TT$192.72). The contract demands payment before the goods are shipped, which means that TTFA is committed to spending around TT$1,445,400 excluding vat each year for four years - TT$5,781,600.
Once in possession of these jerseys, it is then the responsibility of TTFA to sell these items as quickly as possible to recoup their outlay.
To do this, United TTFA entered into a well-publicised deal with Sports & Games. Again, on the surface, a progressive move. S&G will have exclusive rights to retail the jerseys and will return 80% of net profits to TTFA. If all goes well, TTFA will see a tidy profit.
Hoping for the best, planning for the worse
But there are many questions to be answered before an investment such as this takes place. The first and obvious question is where will TTFA obtain the $TT1.5 million to purchase the jerseys? How much will the jerseys retail for? After all, TTFA jerseys will be competing with big brands such as Adidas and Nike who will be pushing replica jerseys from clubs such as Barcelona and Man Utd. When faced with a choice, where will T&T football fans spend their money? And worse, in 2022 we will encounter the huge World Cup marketing campaign pushing replica jerseys from Germany, Brazil, Argentina etc.
As a business, you need to hope for the best, but plan for the worse. Unfortunately for United TTFA they either did not understand this or chose to ignore it. Because the worst has happened. With the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, football is at a standstill like all other sports and economies across the world. With untold months of inaction from our national teams, this can hardly provide fertile retail conditions as desired by United TTFA. Hardly conducive to luxury purchases such as replica jerseys.
So United TTFA has gambled by committing to spending nearly TT$1.5 million per year - money that could have been used to reduce debts.
Another key aspect of the Avec deal is that United TTFA has committed to purchase further Avec equipment. At a cost per year of just over TT$1 million.
This equipment, again, will be exclusively sold by Sports & Games and will include items such as tracksuits, kit bags, caps, shorts, socks etc.
But realistically, what is the likelihood of S&G selling that quantity of minor brand equipment that earns them only 20% of net profit, when they will be stocking major brand items with far greater markup? And every year, another TT$1 million worth of stock will arrive!
Regarding purchases of replica jerseys and equipment, the contract actually commits the items to be purchased by the TTFA's “Approved Retail Partner” and TTFA's “sponsors”.
Yet these entities are not named in the contract and did not sign the contract. However, failure to purchase these annual quantities will result in TTFA having to pay the full value of the free national team uniforms.
So here's the real danger: If Sports & Games, for any reason, fail to purchase the TT$2.5 million worth of stock in, say, year 4 of this contract, TTFA will owe Avec over TT$5 million. A commitment that was never approved by the TTFA board.
As mentioned at the beginning of this letter, Avec is a business, and they, understandably, have constructed a deal in which they cannot lose. A glance at the “free” uniforms to be supplied shows that there are far more items being supplied than are necessary for an association with an alleged debt of TT$50 million.
Quality of uniforms for limited usage
Firstly, is it necessary to purchase full sets of new uniforms each year? Even if each national team played 12 games per year, which is unlikely, can these uniforms not withstand such low levels of usage? Obviously, there is wear and tear. But 60 home and 60 away jerseys per team, per year?
Does each team require 120 tracksuits per year? In our climate, tracksuits would only be essential for away trips outside of the Caribbean and Central America. Only 20-24 players would travel. So why 120 tracksuits per team, per year?
Do we need 120 polo shirts per squad? Surely, they would only be needed for the 20-24 players selected for each squad. That should total no more than 50 players per squad per year. And are baseball caps a necessity? Amid a financial crisis such as the current TTFA situation, pennies must be counted and debt must be reduced.
We would hope that Sports & Games perform admirably and we will see a new income stream.
But FIFA live in the real world, and when they saw this deal (and they would be aware of other associations uniform deals), they would see a sword of Damocles hanging over TTFA for four years.
Add to this the potential $6 million contract of Terry Fenwick, along with a myriad of other coaching and staff contracts and perhaps Infantino felt it was not such a fantastic debt management plan.
Perhaps, a better, smarter move would have been to simply purchase national team uniforms at a discount? Buy what you can afford and create retail demand. Let sports outlets place orders and use their funds to buy the replicas.
What is the need, for example, of purchasing 120 jerseys for the U13 boys and girls when we don't even know if we can afford for them to play an international fixture?
United TTFA may believe they have the football knowledge to win matches, but this deal, for one, exposes their total ignorance of the business of football and the need to consult with their board.

Miller time: How controversial Englishman ‘made mas’ with new TTFA.

Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) president William Wallace and his United TTFA slate spent much of the past three months railing against the Switzerland-based pair of Fifa and the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
At present, the TTFA’s elected officers, Wallace and vice-presidents Clynt Taylor, Susan Joseph-Warrick and Sam Phillip, are asking the High Court to help them resist removal by a Fifa-appointed normalisation committee—having declared their lack of faith in the fair-handedness of the CAS.
But time will tell whether the scheming of the English duo of Peter Miller and Terry Fenwick did far more damage to the Wallace-led administration.
A financial breakdown of the TTFA’s expected expenditure for 2020 tells its own tale of how highly Wallace valued the pair:
1. Salaries for roughly a dozen office employees: TT$2 million;
2. Salaries for roughly 40 technical staff members: TT$2.8 million;
3. Salaries for Terry Fenwick and Peter Miller: TT$3.6 million.
Fenwick’s job was to match Stephen Hart by taking the Soca Warriors back into the top 50 nations in the world and the top six—at least—in Concacaf. Miller promised to find the money to erase the local body’s debt; and, simultaneously, to bankroll its revamped technical plans and a three-tiered local league.
The jury is out on Fenwick, who is months away from his first competitive international. But Miller has already offered enough to be judged on, even if one generously overlooks his chequered past.
Miller, according to Wallace, promised to bring in TT$40 million over four years—exclusive of a fanciful Arima Velodrome development scheme, valued at an additional TT$50 million for the TTFA.
So, Miller calculated 20 percent of that sponsorship largesse at TT$8 million and, according to the Newsday, presented Wallace with a contract which guaranteed he would be paid that figure as a flat salary—irrespective, it appears, of whether he actually delivered the big bucks.
Any seasoned businessman would have tossed Miller out on his ear. Wallace apparently asked: ‘Where do I sign?’
Take the Avec Sport deal for instance. No really, take it please—anywhere!
If you didn’t laugh, I can’t blame you. Too soon.
The bare essentials of Trinidad and Tobago’s mooted four year sponsorship from unheralded British apparel company, Avec Sports, was that it would offer the TTFA roughly TT$5.2 million in kit—but only once the local body purchased, or had its sponsors buy, TT$10.25 million in merchandise.
Wallace described the deal as ‘unprecedented’ with ‘unrivalled terms for the supply of kit’ and the start of a ‘completely fresh and exciting partnership which sits perfectly as part of the new era for Trinidad and Tobago football’.
He was right on every count, although perhaps not in the way he expected.
Clause 5.6 of the Avec contract states that the TTFA will only get its free gear or ‘gifted pro allowance’ on the proviso that:
a) the approved retail partner (in this case, Sports and Games) purchase a minimum of 7,500 replica shirts in each contract year from the company; and
b) the Association’s sponsors will purchase in each contract year a minimum of 125,000 pounds (TT$1,046,000) worth of other products at wholesale values…
And in the event that [Sports and Games] or the Association’s sponsors fail to reach the minimum purchase requirements, the Association agrees to pay Avec Sport the full value of the gifted pro kit allowance already received by the association.
Avec priced its adult replicas at US$29.65 (TT$201) while the retail price for Soca Warriors replicas under the previous sponsor, Joma, was US$44 (TT$300).
With a profit split of 80-20 between the TTFA and Sports and Games, Wired868 crunched the figures to find out how many replicas the local body must sell to get their uniforms for ‘free’.
If Sports and Games sold 37,000 replicas over four years, the pay-out would be:
S&G (TT$740,000), TTFA (TT$110,000 plus kit), Avec Sport (TT$10.25 million).
The TTFA claimed the deal was worth TT$25 million in cash and kind. Since they get TT$5 million in kit, we also worked out how many replicas must be sold to match their valuation—bearing in mind the TTFA still has to spend over TT$10 million to get the uniforms.
If Sports and Games sold 110,000 replicas over four years, the money would be shared:
S&G (TT$2.2 million), TTFA (TT$30.8 million) and Avec Sport (TT$10.25 million).
So what’s a realistic target for replica sales?
“Once the team is doing well, we can sell about 100 replicas a month,” said Fan Club operations director Mario Singh. “So, we could sell 1,200 comfortably in a year—but it depends on how well the teams are doing.”
The Fan Club has one store in Trincity Mall. Sports and Games has nine nationwide. If each branch sells as well as the other over the next three years, with some help from the Warriors’ overseas fans (and minus a lost year due to Covid-19’s impact on the football calendar in 2020)…
The TTFA could feasibly sell enough to ensure they don’t pay for their own uniforms. But there is little doubt about which party stands to benefit most from this deal.
Clause 5.5 states: ‘all invoices [for the replicas and merchandise that the TTFA must accept along with the free kit] must be paid by the Association before the company will ship the products’.
And clause 5.7 reiterates: ‘the approved retail partner, the other retail partners and Association’s sponsors are required to pay for the products that they purchase and the shipping costs of those products in advance of shipping, and it is the Association’s responsibility to ensure [compliance]’.
Wired868 sent the contract to two companies with vast experience in multi-million dollar clothing deals. Both agreed to offer feedback on the condition of anonymity, so as not to criticise a possible business partner or rival.
The first source is an administrator with regional experience securing sponsorship deals including Adidas and Puma.
Wired868: What are you thoughts on the Avec Sport sponsorship?
Anonymous administrator: “I ran it past my attorney for his take and his words are it is not a sponsorship at all. It is a sales contract.
“The TTFA has to pay for the stock that it gets, so in that context it is a sales contract. A sponsorship contract looks very different to this.”
Wired868: Would you have signed?
Administrator: “I would not have signed this and I would never advise anyone to do that. The main reason I say that is clause 5.5-7.
“You are basically telling us if 125,000 pounds worth of merchandise and 7,500 replica is not taken and paid for, then you have to pay for goods you have received. This is not a sponsorship contract, this is a sales contract—and that is not our core business.
“Also having to pay for the shipping and send that payment in advance is unusual. We have done a lot of deals with companies like Adidas and Puma and normally they pay for shipping and you pay the duties.
“It is either the contract was not read or vetted; but it was not intended to be favourable to TTFA. And there is no ambiguity. It uses words like ‘shall’, ‘will’ and ‘must’ and holds the TTFA responsible for all payment. I have never seen that in a sponsorship contract.”
The second person to share his thoughts is a North America-based sport agent.
“There is no schedule of bonuses for Gold Cup or World Cup qualification and given the new qualifying format that is a still a possibility,” he said. “That seems very strange and potential money is left on the table. Also the four year deal takes you to about halfway through the qualification for the 2026 World Cup; and there is nothing about a chance to extend, based on performance of the team either.”
And what about issues with what actually is in the contract?
“In clause 5.3, it says the TTFA is responsible for shipping costs—this is a red flag,” he said. “Also clause 5.4 says extra items need to be paid for and shipping paid in advance while 5.6 says the free items given to TTFA are given on the condition the retail partners buy 7,500 replica shirts per year and sponsors buy 125,000 pounds worth of products.
“I’d say clause 13.1 is very vague about termination of the contract. And there are no specified delivery dates for the products! Another red flag! My take here is that this was not closely reviewed by a contract attorney.”
Clause 13.1 states either member can terminate agreement based on: ‘distress or executive levied upon its goods or effects’, ‘winding up or insolvency proceedings commenced against it’ or ‘material breach of its obligations [which] continues un-remedied for 30 to 90 days’.
Curiously, clause 14.3 states that: ‘until such time as the property in the goods passes to the Association, the Association shall hold the goods as the Company’s fiduciary agent and bailee and shall keep the goods properly stored, protected and insured’; while 14.4 states: ‘[…] the Company may at any time require the Association to deliver up the goods to the Company and, if the Association fails to do so forthwith’ enter on any premises of the Association or any third party where the goods are store and repossess the goods’.
Wired868 confirmed with a senior TTFA source that the Avec Sport contract, which was publicly unveiled on 26 February, was not vetted by an independent attorney or anyone with experience in the sponsorship field.
Wallace depended solely on Miller.
Wired868 noted the concerns about the contract by our sources and was told that Wallace and general secretary Ramesh Ramdhan also had misgivings. These were apparently assuaged after an explanation from Miller, which was forwarded to us.
So here is Miller’s complete explanation as to how he valued the Avec Sport deal at TT$25 million to the TTFA and why the local football body has nothing to worry about.
“Hi William/Ramesh. As promised earlier for your reference here is a rough break down of a ‘commercial valuation’ for the purposes of press release to media and not reflective of a cash-only value specific to a formalized contract between two parties.
“Example: Avec. Gift of Kit (over 4 years) US$1,400,000.
“Annual requirement to sell replicas 7,500 replicas x 4 years = 30,000 replicas x US$70 (being the full retail price sold to the general public) = US$2,100,000.
“Annual merchandise requirement 125,000 pounds (US$163,000) x 4 = 500,000 pounds (US$652,000) x average retail mark up to market 50% = US$978,000
“Total US$4,478,000 = TT$30,274,674.”
Two things. First, Miller uses a retail valuation of US$70 (TT$470) for the Soca Warriors replicas. Based on our checks, that overstates the value by US$25 (TT$170) per jersey.
And since the ‘merchandise’ due to the TTFA and its wholesale prices are unknown, it is impossible to calculate whether his ‘average retail mark up’ is accurate. (Wired868 put the entire stock of 125,000 pounds into replicas, so as to work out a costing.)
So Miller’s figures can neither be proven nor disproved.
Second, Wired868 worked out the cost of each piece of equipment provided to the national teams barring caps and bags, since Avec Sport did not offer wholesale prices for those. The TTFA will get roughly US$740,000 (TT$5 million) worth of jerseys, pants, socks and track suits over the four year period.
For Miller’s figure of US$1.4 (TT$9.5) million to be accurate, it would mean that Avec Sport are sending US$660,000 (TT$4.5 million) worth of sport bags and caps for Trinidad and Tobago’s national teams over the next four years.
But do continue your explanation, Mr Miller.
“Obviously there are costs within this valuation; purchase of equipment/merchandise, shipping costs and import duties, profit share percentages to retail outlets (Sports & Games) or international online eCommerce partners—but also arguably there are other costs that could be included that are more difficult to calculate such as perimeter advertising boards, branding rights, media/PR values etc.
“Additionally, one must consider and appreciate additional spend of partners such as Sports & Games who will spend their own money to advertise, promote and market TTFA product to ensure that our expectations of them are fulfilled.
“For differing levels of sponsorship deals, we will utilize more sophisticated third parties to evaluate these multiples however, in doing so, there is obviously a cost to that and as such we would only use those services when the overall cash value of a deal warranted such expense.
“Likewise commercial deals can be valued based upon where a rights holder (TTFA) is currently positioned and where that rights holder may be in the future. Example: we have negotiated a deal worth $25,000,000 whilst ranked #104 in the world and only having won one game in years.
“What value would be placed on our same rights in three years if we have qualified for Gold Cups and World Cups at differing levels etc? How many replica jerseys would we be selling then? How much will we be charging for perimeter boards then?
“So, as you can see, ‘press release valuations’ have many moving parts—this is not because we are fabricating the truth, it is because these valuations have differing meanings depending on how you are assessing them—from a perspective of a ‘kit deal’ this is standard, nothing untoward.
“However, the issue here is that unfortunately no one in T&T has ever negotiated a proper kit deal since 2006 (and aside of that one JAW deal going to a WC) no one before that with the exception of me in 2000!!!
“It should also be reiterated that sponsorships can only be truly valued based upon their viability—without the proper infrastructure it wouldn’t matter what the value was, the deliverables would not be possible.
“With specific regard to Avec, this is why securing the Sports & Games partnership is so important. Far more important than a cash up front deal from S&G, as this provides the TTFA with a gateway to sell its contractually obligated numbers. From this point we will add online sales, international eCommerce sales specifically to T&T demographics globally (Miami, New York, Toronto, London etc).
“Why we will now seek to establish (in partnership with S&G and without cost to TTFA) retail outlets in Piarco and Tobago International Airports duty free areas; all of this without a TTFA salaried marketing/commercial staff or a budget to work with.
“Clearly over the past four years, the DJW administration didn’t have the experience, contacts or expertise to deliver just a kit deal alone (let alone an entire marketing and commercial strategy). Likewise neither does someone like, say, Brent Sancho, with his track record of failures in this regard. This is not being petty or flippant, it is merely stating the facts.
“We have a plan which I have never erred from. Now with three months just gone, we have the necessary platform to deliver the cash sponsors we said we would and are already starting to do so.
“I hope this makes sense and please don’t hesitate to ask for any further clarity you may need in this regard.
“Sincerely, Peter.”
If you cannot convince, goes the cliche, then confuse.
Based on a Newsday article, Miller not only charged the TTFA US$25,000 per month for bringing deals like Avec Sport to the twin island republic; but he also included a bill of US$30,410.95 on 25 November 2019—a day after the election.
Was Miller billing Wallace for work done during his electoral campaign, when he got letters of commitment from the would-be sponsors?
Had Wallace, as TTFA president, agreed to dip in the local football body’s coffers to pay Miller for campaign work done for the United TTFA?
Had Miller gotten the local football body to agree to pay him US$30,410.95 for getting a host of mostly obscure companies to promise to do business with the TTFA and then an additional US$25,000 to persuade the said sponsors to follow through—all with no guarantee that the would-be sponsors would ever sign on the dotted line?
Miller’s deal is in stark contrast to the standard sales contract, in which a salesman gets between 5 to 15 percent of the value of the secured deal when the sponsor actually delivers on his or her promise.
One other thing: Miller’s ‘explanation’ to Wallace and Ramdhan on the contract was sent via email on 8 March—eight days after the TTFA unveiled the Avec deal.
Arguably, the TTFA president and general secretary had signed off on a ‘multi-million dollar contract’ that they did not fully understand.
On Friday, Miller, who is now trying to get the normalisation committee to recognise his contract, told the Newsday that he was ‘genuinely disappointed’ in Wallace.
“I had faith in William before [the] election,” said Miller. “I thought he was a man that stood for honesty, integrity and accountability.”
If Fifa president Gianni Infantino’s implementation of a normalisation committee was a blow to the midsection for the fresh-faced TTFA president, exactly where Miller’s about-turn pained Wallace might be best left to the imagination.
When the Switzerland-based body pulled the sheets away from the TTFA, two Englishmen had Wallace in an uncompromising position. And, whether the board consented or not, local football is likely to pay the price for the unholy indiscretion.

The payment of $15,000 pounds by the FIFA-appointed Normalisation Committee being led by chairman Robert Hadad, has now officially relieved the country's football administrators from the burden of another legal battle to add to the many Hadad and his committee members that comprise attorney Judy Daniel (deputy chairman) and businessman and former banker Nigel Romano, have had to cope with.
Then TTFA president William Wallace and his general secretary Ramesh Ramdhan had put pen to paper for a $25-million contract to outfit all the country's national teams, from the junior to the senior levels, with uniforms.
The other part of the contract required the football association to sell some 7, 500 in apparel, to benefit in part from the sale 80 to 20 per cent respectively, between them (TTFA) and distributors Sports & Games.
However, the deal fell flat following a decision by the sport's world governing body to replace the T&TFA with a normalisation committee on the basis that the Wallace-led executive had placed local football on the brink of insolvency and illiquidity before they were removed on March 17.
The contract was signed officially in January 2020, but the country was expected to benefit with its first tranch of uniforms on June 1 last year, a development that led to legal action by Avec, as the normalisation committee refused to continue with that contract and other deals by the Wallace administration.
However, on Monday, Hadad revealed to Guardian Media Sports that they were officially out of that deal."Directly speaking about Avec, we have already settled with Avec, we had a settlement figure from them and we have already dealt with that issue, so we are out of the contract with Avec officially. We settled with Avec for 15,000 pounds to get out of the contract because obviously, the implications long-term, would have been a bit more."
Meanwhile, with the country's senior team set to begin World Cup and Gold Cup qualifiers in March, the local football boss has already begun his search for a uniform deal that could come from either Adidas, Puma, or another unknown sportswear supplier.
"We are now in the process of seeking a new uniform contract, so we have been in discussions with a few uniform people. We would all be aware that to get into a new uniform deal would require a lot of work and definitely, we're looking for money."
"The TTFA needs some sort of contribution towards the TTFA and some sort of uniform deal in the next two years. I wouldn't like us signing anything longer than two years. One of the companies is a new one that we are talking to, one of them is Joma, Joma has an offer on the table, and we have reached out to Adidas also."
"You would be mindful that because of our low rankings, getting some of these people to contribute financially toward the association is where the dilemma is, so we are working through those companies right now. We have also reached out to Puma, I don't know where we are at with that one as yet as we haven't gotten an offer on the table as yet. So when we see the offers we will make a decision, and we have to make a decision quickly because we need the uniforms for March," Hadad said.

The National Team’s contract with Joma ended over two years ago, while Hadad cancelled—and settled financially—a controversial kit deal with Avec Sport last year. So, with no uniform to outfit the players in Orlando, team manager Adrian Romain headed to a mall in west Trinidad and purchased Joma gear over the counter.

The T&T football teams will have a new football kit, courtesy of Miami-based sportswear company- BOL, a company formed by the combined efforts of businessmen Eduardo Acordi, Marco Gandelman, and Tiago Pinto.
BOL will design fresh kits for T&T as part of a two-year partnership deal between the Miami-based sports brand and the T&T Football Association (TTFA), the brand announced on Thursday.
A release of the deal stated that the apparel brand will begin its process of creating new art-inspired kits that will be released in June to help elevate the Caribbean nation to the next level during the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Chairman of the FIFA-appointed Normalisation Committee Robert Hadad told Guardian Media Sports a couple of months ago that his committee had been in talks with a few sportswear companies inclusive of Adidas, Puma, Joma, and a new unknown company at the time, all with a view of securing a new kit deal in the wake of the disastrous Avec Sports deal which never materialised.
In January, the Normalisation Committee avoided a legal battle with Avec Sports after the four-year deal went sour due to the TTFA's inability to honour its part of the agreement with the UK firm. Guardian Media Sports was told that Avec had already begun preparing the kits for the TTFA, hence the reason for the expected legal battle.
Hadad though in January, intervened by settling with Avec Sports for a meagre $15,000 pounds.
Hadad, in response to the deal, said in the release: "The T&T Football Association believes that this new partnership with BOL Football is a great strategic alliance and opportunity. We look forward to working together to develop products that resonate with the hearts of the players, staff, fans and all Trinbagonians."
The value of the deal as well as exactly how the country will benefit from the agreement are unknown, as calls to Hadad's cellphone went unanswered all of yesterday.
Meanwhile, Pinto, a former Nike executive and co-founder of BOL, in a release said: "We want our new kits to exude the confidence, strength and bravery of this team. We believe in celebrating the beautiful game and our hope is supporters around the world will find that same joy through our apparel designs.”
The T&T team has been delicately poised in Group F of the qualifiers, sitting in second position with four points, while St Kitts and Nevis leads with six points, with only the top team expected to advance to the second round of the qualifiers. The other teams in the group are Bahamas, Puerto Rico and Guyana.
According to the release: "T&T joined CONCACAF and FIFA nearly 70 years ago. Since then their men’s national team has become a top team in the region, qualifying for a World Cup, winning eight Caribbean Cups and finishing third in one Gold Cup.
"Their youth teams have qualified for two FIFA Under-20 World Cups and a FIFA U-17 World Cup. They have also hosted a FIFA Men's and Women's U-17 World Cup."
BOL unveiled distinctly designed jerseys for another Caribbean island nation, Montserrat, last month as the brand continues its mission to share the emotional journeys of men’s, women’s and youth teams that aren’t typically showcased on the international stage.
BOL will equally incentivise T&T for the performance achievements of both the men’s and women’s national teams in order to recognise TTFA's efforts and vision for the future of all.
An extensive annual product collection will be provided au gratis and the deal will also include a revenue sharing program for team-branded products sold around the world.

Good opportunity to settle on a football team uniform

The announcement of a new sponsor of the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA), in BOL, brings the opportunity for us to design and adapt a uniform that will become established.
In so doing, we shall create something through which we can be identified on the world scene.
We have had various designs over the years, often at the bidding of the sponsors, the latest being AVEC, which produced, thankfully, a short-lived one purportedly done by someone abroad and not reflective of our national colours.
The time is ripe to have a competition on a national scale for a kit to become established in the long term by which we can be known.
There are many countries so outfitted—Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Jamaica, Barbados, USA, Germany, to name a few.
One sees the uniform on mention of these countries.
All that changes is the logo of the sponsor, not the substantive design.
It must be established that the kit must be our choice, not the sponsors’.
Recently, we played against USA in a blue and white outfit.
This was reportedly because we had no sponsor but we used the JOMA uniform, of the national colours, thereafter.
The question of colours is as important as flying the national flag correctly.
Selection on a national team brings with it the honour of wearing our colours, and this should be adhered to whenever possible.
We should aim for these colours even on our alternative outfits.
It is to be hoped that in the present sponsorship, we have an acceptable kit while we strive to finalise a standing uniform. Maybe it will be a legacy of the Normalisation Committee.
Our national pride can be demonstrated in these colours via sports in events worldwide. The Patriotic Organisation of Trinbago has identified “SPORTS” as an activity wherein we can demonstrate such pride.
Let us not miss this opportunity in football and even have all national teams guided by this principle.

As yuh mentioned Venezuela: good point of reference here. Venezuela also has a commercial relationship with a company that has very few other NT sponsorships, but that company has a market presence and experience in football at club level. They even make gloves. What can Bol offer beyond the basics or what is it offering beyond the basics? They don't make balls. What have they sold other than a vision of a two-year future?
From the point of view of companies in this space, it is difficult to find room to advance in the market ... It is unconvincing - especially absent a comprehensive ventilation of the facts by the NC/TTFA - that Bol was the fruit of a thorough exploration of the market.

The apparel brand released new home and away jerseys featuring unique steelpan and tribal artwork that represents the beauty, strength and resilience that is the team’s heritage.
Stripes of the red home jersey combine elements of football with distinctive patterns of Trinbagonian ceramics and silhouettes of the steelpan, the national instrument. The native figure portrayed on the away jersey, also wearing a steelpan earring, represents how the team unites the country and its people abroad as a tribe.
“Our brand finds inspiration to create its products from the stories and culture of the teams that we partner with,” said Tiago Pinto, co-founder of BOL. “It is an honor to be able to translate the vibrant culture and compelling story of the National Team into a jersey that represents the Trinbagonian people.”
BOL chose to introduce the new kits this week with the hope of inspiring the Trinidad and Tobago Men’s National Team ahead of crucial upcoming matches for the World Cup Qualifiers. The brand is on a mission to share the emotional journeys of men’s, women’s, and youth teams and is the first sports brand to give equal compensation for performance achievements.
Overcoming hardships along the way with the heartbreaking loss against Haiti in the 1974 World Cup and against the United States in 1989, Trinidad and Tobago’s MNT made it to the highest stage of football by qualifying for the World Cup in 2006.

FRESH kits for the national men’s football team were unveiled on Friday as a part of the partnership between the Miami-based sports brand BOL and the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA), which was announced earlier this year.
A media release by the TTFA on Friday said, “The apparel brand released new home and away jerseys featuring unique steel pan and tribal artwork that represents the beauty, strength and resilience that is the team’s heritage.
