A new angle has appeared on Thierry Henry's departure from Arsenal to join Barcelona last month with the revelation that he and his English wife of four years, Claire, a model also known by her professional name of Nicole Merry, are to divorce.

The Sun newspaper's front page headline quites Henry as telling friends: "I had to get away from everything English... including my wife."
The paper says Henry, 29, walked out on his Croydon-born wife Claire, 27, just days after joining Barcelona. The couple have a two-year-old daughter, Téa.
On its inside pages, with the banner headline: BARCA LONER," The Sun says Henry has been en joying a bachelor lifestyle and visiting casinos since the "bitter" break-up.
Henry issued a statement through his lawyers saying: "Thierry is extremely saddened by the breakdown of his marriage.
"He is anxious to move on with his life and maintain the best possible relationship he can with Claire for the benefit of their daughter Téa, whom he loves very much."
The statement added that Henry's move to Barcelona was "entirely for footballing reasons."
But he has reportedly told friends: "I didn't really want to leave Arsenal - they're my favourite club and I loved playing for them.
"But lots of things have changed recently, and I had to get away from everything English, including my wife unfortunately.
"It's a very sad time for all of us, but you've got to know when to move on."
The couple married in July 2003.

Dis news hit meh by surprise, cuz ah believe it was last year after de EPL season ended, Henry and his wife visited a top of de line restaurant in Coral Gables (south Florida). Mey friend dat work there, she even get she lil pics wid dem, and she said de couple looked happy and wonderful together. Ah guess from dat time tuh now, things went down hill :o :o. HIGHLY BLESSED.

Doh forget Patrick Klieuvirt, he completely went down hill after he divorce. £25m divorce battle as Thierry splits from wife
Thierry Henry has split from English wife Claire Merry after four years of marriage and now faces the biggest ever divorce payout by a footballer.
Henry's fortune is estimated at £25 million and there is expected to be a legal battle to determine what share his wife Claire Merry will receive.
The divorce coincides with Henry's move from Arsenal this summer to Barcelona, where he will earn £130,000 a week. Henry's wife, Claire Merry, a model and mother of their twoyear- old daughter Tea, will be entitled to a large proportion of those wages as well as his current fortune.
Ms Merry's lawyers will study divorce cases in London which have been hugely favourable financially to ex-wives — not least the case of Karen Parlour, who secured a ground-breaking settlement from the ex- Arsenal player Ray Parlour, a former teammate of Henry.
In 2004, Mrs Parlour was awarded one-third of her former husband's future earnings — more than £1.6 million over four years — as well as two houses and a £250,000 lump sum after a Court of Appeal ruling
A similar deal for Ms Merry, 27, would see her earning £2million a year during the course of his four-year contract with Barcelona as well as a large share of the personal fortune he has already accumulated during his career.
On top of earnings from football Henry has highly lucrative sponsorship deals and appeared in an advert for the Renault Clio in which he starred with his wife and which is also famous for the phrase va-va voom. Ms Merry changed her name from Claire to Nicole after her character in the television advert.
Henry, 29, has hired Mishcon de Reya, the London law firm that handled both Princess Diana's divorce from Prince Charles and is currently acting for Heather Mills in her split from Sir Paul McCartney.
A statement issued by Mishcon's on behalf of Henry said: “Thierry is extremely saddened by the breakdown of his marriage. He is anxious to move on with his life and maintain the best possible relationship he can with Claire for the benefit of their daughter Tea, whom he loves very much. Thierry would like to stress that contrary to reports in the press, his move to Barcelona was entirely for footballing reasons.”
The divorce announcement comes just four years after the couple wed at Highclere Castle, Berkshire. Henry had been dating Ms Merry, from Croydon, for two years.
Two weeks ago, it is claimed, he walked out of the couple's home in Hampstead and has not returned. It was alleged that the split followed a series of rows between Henry and Ms Merry over messages and pictures she found on his mobile phone.
Family and friends in Henry's home city of Paris are now claiming that he had to get away from England “for more reasons than football ones”. Henry's agent Darren Dein, who was the best man at his wedding, said he was unable to comment.
Ms Merry's stepmother, Annette Merry, said at her home in Croydon: “I can';t comment. It's a family situation.”

Easier said than done pointman. what allyuh fail to realise is, the whites girls put more effort into meeting these guys than women of colour. while women of colour would sit back and make the action come to them, the white girls does go out and makes things happen by being in the right place at the right time, plus women of colour have extra large complex, they behave like they shit ice cream and piss perfume while the white girls in most cases a lil more humble when they want to achieve their goal. yuh think man like henry and yorkie have time to run down and convince or court gyul when woman throwing they self at them. so it aint't no matter of picking nah boss, is you who does get pick like a ripe mango and end up in bucket in that areana, and only if yuh lucky ah fella does get a thing who really check for him and stick wid the programm, but most ah dem women playing for prizes and when they done suck yuh out they dash yuh way like a mango seed. gyul that like to play cute and hiding for man to find them does finish last to rass, so let them so called sweet caribbean gyul keep hiding and let them white gyul continue to yam they food, yuh doh know ah so it go in foriegn, the end.
