Boro agree Mido fee
Middlesbrough have revealed they have agreed a fee with Tottenham for Mido.

The 24-year-old is now at Boro's Rockliffe Park training ground to undergo a medical.

Boro manager Gareth Southgate is hopeful of completing a deal in the next 36 hours.

"We've agreed a fee with Tottenham and that's enabled us to have Mido up to see us and he's currently in the process of having a medical," Southgate told Boro's official website.

"Hopefully if everything goes well we'll have some news in the next 36 hours.

"All the talks have been very positive and I don't see the medical being too much of a problem for him."

This might seem to be good news for Stern John but he still have to earn his spot on the team especially if Cole arrives

.Keane admits Cole interest
Roy Keane has confirmed his interest in former Manchester United team-mate Andy Cole.

The veteran striker is available on a free transfer after negotiating his release from his Portsmouth contract earlier this month.

He has admitted to having several options to consider, with Sunderland a possibility for the ex-Newcastle United hit-man.

Black Cats boss Keane is still looking to add to his squad before the close of the transfer window and concedes signing Cole is under consideration.

Two more needed

"Coley has obviously left Portsmouth and that is something I am looking at, I have to say, at the moment," said Keane.

"There will probably be news on one or two players who will be coming in.

"Generally speaking, if we could add two players in the next week or two I would be delighted.

"I am very pleased with the players we have got in, but I do believe we need two more players to help the squad."

Keane has been chasing Tottenham striker Mido, but the Egyptian appears set to join North East rivals Middlesbrough
