Title: 2007 Warrior Nation & SW.net Fantasy Football Knockout Cup
Post by: Feliziano on October 14, 2007, 09:28:28 PM
                                Warrior Nation & SW.net Cup

Details:

·   Online Fantasy Football Knockout Cup using EPL Fantasy Football stats.
·   There are 166 teams invited from the Andre Samuel, Big and Picong Cyar Done leagues.
·   All Gameweek points and Transfers will be tracked by the EPL.
·   Start date is Saturday 20th October 2007.
·   Each team has been assigned an Overall Rank number, according to their Overall Points total at the end of Gameweek 9, which they will keep for the duration of the Cup. This was also used to determine Match pairings.
·   Since there are more than 128 teams then there will be a short 1st Round involving the 76 lowest ranked teams, with the remaining 90 teams on a ‘BYE’ till the 2nd Rounds.
·   There will be a total of 8 Rounds.
·   Each Round will consist of 2 consecutive Gameweeks; and a ‘REST’ Gameweek between each Round; therefore it will take 23 Gameweeks to complete the Tournament.
·   The player in the pairing with the highest Aggregate/Point total over the 2 Gameweeks; which will be determined by combining the Points for the Gameweeks, will advance to the next round, while the loser goes home.
.    This continues till there are only 2 teams left to contest the Final.
·    A reminder announcement will be made in this thread in the week preceding a new round. Each of the match-ups in that round will also be listed.
·   The winners of each round will be posted after the gameweeks’ that comprise the round have been completed. Any tie-breaking match-ups for the Rest Week will also be announced at this time.
·  Check this thread for a record of each round and competition rules.

Rules:

1.   There must be a minimum of 8 EPL matches in a Gameweek.
2.   The EPL schedule can change at any time.
3.   The WN selects the Gameweeks, with at least 1 ‘REST’ Gameweek between Rounds.
4.   Any extra transfers done during a Round will not be at the team’s expense.
5.   The player in the pairing with the highest Aggregate/Point total over the 2 Gameweeks; which will be determined by combining the Points for the Gameweeks, will advance to the next round, while the loser goes home.
6.   If there is a tied aggregate score after 2 matches, then the scores from the following ‘REST’ Gameweek will be used as the tiebreaker. If two teams are still tied after the tie-breaking gameweek, the team with the higher overall total score in the Fantasy Premier League will advance to the next round.
7.   All scoring is done by the EPL and it is final.
8.   The prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places are Warrior Nation membership kits or Membership Renewals.

We hope to get some feedback so as to improve it for next year.
Thanks in advance for participating and..Good Luck !!!

Is your team's name Red 5 or Warrior Eleven FC?

allow me to kick off the online goading...

freakazoid.. tings not looking too rosy for you.

first you have to navigate yuh way through the ignominy of a qualifying fixture before yuh even get to de champs league group stages..

then after dat it get ten times worse cause yuh coming up against a top seed pedigree side like de mighty Sporting pelau FC..

feliziano deal yuh a tough draw dey boy!

This cup will be real pressure.

Seedings and league position don't matter because anything could happen over two weeks.

Yuh could make 30 points a week and win or make 60 points a week and lose by a point.

The men with wild cards remaining could also make a strategic move if they so inclined and the teams who not in contention for the league could afford to spend points on transfers since those don't get counted in the weekly totals.

Will be very very interesting, I just hoping to make it past the second round.

this van persie injury has forced me to rethink my transfer policy..

anyway, with regards to this cup competition...

big clubs focus on the league first and the cup second..

so if i bounce up one of allyuh 3rd division (page 3) teams willing to take massive point losses to engineer a cup win, me eh fighting it nuh...

You have no hope in winning the league anyways so you might as well focus on the FA Cup it is you r only hope to collect any type of silverware this season  :beermug:

I now looking at the rules again and you mentioned about points deduction (transfers) being at the players expense.

Are you not going on just the points made in the game week?

Thus a man could make unlimited subs...to match up with his opponent and be rewarded..FA Cup style...while dropping further in his/her respective leagues.

I just want clarification here.

Yes Touches this is how i read it... If you languishing on de third page... you could revamp your side and take de point hits in the league if it help you in the cup.

So if you end up with 65 points but you make 11 changes... you will still end up with 65 points in the cup.. whereas in the league you would only get 25 points i think...

That is correct.

The gameweek score listed on the main table does not include transfers and it would be too much trouble to go through each side and check transfers.

Plus making transfers is no guarantee of making points.

If somebody wants to jeopardize their league placing for the cup they are welcome to do so.

the total revamp is for the lala men the men who on page 3 an still behind after the first round of their double header

That was the purpose of the "Bye" week so as to give the table propers a chance..since this is basically for them to keep involved throughout the season and not quit after 2 months when they see they can't get off the 3rd page...didn't mean to dis allyuh managerial skills  ;D

The inital idea was just to go by 'gameweek scores', then upon closer investigation we realize that the transfers weren't being deducted from the gameweek score.
So the only way you could figure out how much 'actual' points a team made after transfers was to check the history...that woulda been too many teams to check through at this point in time.

gotta run right now but i'll be back later with a couple suggestions for allyuh to check out.

ah find this to be a BS tourney with no transfer rules then cause men at the bottom or with 2 teams go stock up dry teams for each game week
men in the top 50 ent going to do that cause they still playing the league
Transfers must be counted....question is who going to do it

no it is right..Los Galacticos made 48 points in Gameweek 10 but they had to deduct the 8 points for his 2 transfers.

Los Galacticos: At the end of Gameweek 9 Overall was 339 and at the end of Gameweek 10 overall was 379..which gives us 40 points after transfers. http://fantasy.premierleague.com/M/entryhist.mc?id=89340

ok back to this

so right now we in the middle of Gameweek 11 which is the last leg of this 1st Rounds.

Gameweek 12 will be the 'rest or bye' week..it is in this gameweek where teams can make as much transfers as they want so as to get their team ready for the 1st leg of Round 2 which starts in Gameweek 13.
When we say 'as much tranfers as they want' we mean that the Overall points at the start of Gameweek 13 will already have whatever tranfer deductions already taken out from the equation for the 2nd Round.

My bad bro...sorry if I cause any confusion.

I thought that you were just taking the gameweek score from the league table, didn't think that you were going into each team.

What happens to teams who are playing off during a rest week? I am guessing that they will still be deducted for that week.

no probs  :)
maybe we have to work on wording it to make it more understandable though lol

i didn't have to go into each team history since i already have a worksheet made up for each gameweek, therefore all i have to do is link the worksheets with the different gameweeks..apply the necessary formula and i automatically get the teams score for that particular gameweek.
i just showed them the links to the history of those 2 teams to show them the actual numbers of how the EPL came up with..and that the gameweek scores don't take out the transfers.

but as i said before if the majority of people want to go by gameweek scores alone or something else next year it wont be a problem.

Leave the league and the amt of subs separate

Touches ah ent have no problem with that  :beermug:
since it go be quicker also lol

Since the 'big dance' starting on Gameweek 13 we will have some time to get everybody else's input this week.

So once at least 10 fellas say change to just using the gameweek scores put up by the EPL on the mainpage then we will consider it as a majority vote and therefore change the scoring system.

Fellas who get knock out in the 1st rounds..hardluck  :beermug:

allyuh shoulda never bring up the idea of bottom teams doing mass transfers in de first place..

i feel not many woulda tink dat one up all by deyself..

i eh see de big deal though, cause yuh could change out yuh whole side, it still have no guarantees..

I think for ease of everything it is better if you use just the gameweek score.

Leave the league and the amt of subs separate

Agree with Touches so yuh count me in the 10.

I don't think it makes that much of a difference either way but ignoring the transfers makes the league and the cup different and more interesting.

if you count transfers against then is basically the league in a different format.

Besides the ORIGINAL rules say is only gameweek points...so we should not CHANGE it to count transfers against.

EPL had they own cup las yr and they ent do that, and I think initially tha wasnt part of this as I remember. It's up to a man how much they wanna make, and d men who know d league is what count not gonna damage their league rank for any cup. bless

So who is benefitting from this bobol?

What so important about a fantasy league game that man have to try bobol?

Come on nah man, it is an honest disconnect between the rules as he intended it and the way we interpreted it. No maliciousness or deceit intended as far as I see it.

Feliz I feel the people speak and the consensus is to ignore the transfers.

that is the main reason there...plus the rules get mixed up some how with the copy and pasting.

we know everybody priority is the league..but this is a chance to keep everybody else who not in the running in the league to still be involved.

After giving it some thought, here are a couple scenarios:
1. We go by Gameweek Score - that Score doesn't take transfers into account; then fellas who have nothing to play for in the league will abuse it.

2a. We go by Overall Points - that Total takes into account all the transfers over the EPL limit and deducts the necessary amount of points; this is calculated by taking the Total overall points at the start of the Gameweek and subtracting it from the new Total overall points at the end of the Gameweek; this is fairer to all involved.
2b. We go by Overall Points with a 'Bye' week - the fellas who have nothing to play for in the league will abuse it since we are only taking into account the Total overall points at the start of the Gameweek.
2c. We go by Overall Points without a 'Bye' week - there is still nothing to prevent teams from making unlimited transfers without penalty; only way is to remove the 'Bye' week and run the Rounds continuously until we have a winner.

Anybody with other suggestions then?

I see you in "supporter" mood.  :D

It have no options.  At the start the rules said it was what you have for Option 1. and the tournament already start so we duty bound to stick by that otherwise we cheating the people who went and make transfers on our word that it don't count against them.

Feliz using all kinda tricks to draw attention to this Cup boy   ;D  We go have plenty more controversy later so lewwe settle this one quick and get back on track.

Football: Uefa to probe Abramovich (freakazoid) in crackdown
Independent on Sunday, The,  Jun 19, 2005  by TIM COLLINGS

http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qn4159/is_20050619/ai_n14674575

Chelsea's (freakazoid express) special relationship with their owner Roman Abramovich's favourite Russian club, CSKA Moscow (jus add water), is expected to be at the centre of a new investigation by Uefa (Warrior nation) as European football's ruling body launch a clampdown on possible dual ownership and the sort of outbursts that last season landed Chelsea's manager, Jose Mourinho, in so much trouble.

Lars-Christer Olsson, Uefa's chief executive, last night expressed concern at the ownership of some clubs involved in European competition and laid out plans for a new Code of Ethics to eradicate bad behaviour by players, managers and fans.

It was ironic that on a day when belligerent behaviour by fans was the leading item on the executive's agenda, 25 members of the Not for Sale consortium of Manchester United fan groups protesting against Malcolm Glazer's takeover stormed into a meeting room at the City of Manchester Stadium at the end of a media briefing after a Uefa executive committee meeting. 'He listened to them and understood their point of view,' said a Uefa spokesman after two of the protest group's leaders had been given 10 minutes to state their case to Olsson.

The anti-Glazer fans' case for a hearing was not helped when, as they departed, one of their group took with him a reporter's backpack, containing a laptop computer. The bag and laptop were duly returned, but the incident highlighted the forces that are at loggerheads as Uefa, and Olsson in particular, tried to present a new approach to such thorny problems as hooliganism, on and off the pitch, misbehaviour by coaches and managers, and a widespread lack of respect shown to referees.

He said Uefa planned to instruct national associations what behaviour levels are acceptable from coaches, players and fans, and issue clear instructions to referees. Olsson also made it clear that Uefa will work in consultation with the top coaches in European football to create a new Uefa Code of Ethics for introduction in 2006-07. In effect, Olsson said that Uefa were rewriting their rules on discipline for all involved.

He did not mention 'the special one' by name, but it was clear that last season's prolonged spat involving Mourinho and Uefa's senior staff, not to mention the controversy that followed Chelsea's visit to Barcelona for a Champions' League quarter-final first-leg tie in late February, had stimulated this action. When Abramovich's involvement with the Uefa Cup holders, CSKA Moscow, is added, it is plain that Uefa's executive are determined to stamp out all suspicions attached to the English champions.

'We are increasingly concerned about several developments to do with the ownership of clubs,' Olsson said. 'We are looking into it because there is a risk that the credibility of our competitions will be in jeopardy. We already have in our club licensing system that one person is not allowed to own more than one club in the same competition.'[/size]

Uefa took no action last season when Chelsea were drawn to meet CSKA in the group phase of the Champions' League, despite the fact that Abramovich owns Chelsea and has a majority holding in Sibneft, the Russian oil company that last year announced a pounds 30 million three-year sponsorship of the Moscow club. Some said the issue was being swept under the carpet at the time, but yesterday, at the home of Manchester City, the ownership issue was brought into focus again.

In a comment on all the issues under discussion, Olsson said: 'You can't run a football club like a business on the stock market.' Now he has to try to turn those words into deeds in protection of the traditional values of European football.

Yeah knockout football is a bitch.

Firebrand down by 23 and after all the talk Omar losing by 20.

He probably glad that transfers not counting now.

Fabregas not playing is a real piece of crap. It real hard to put 10 million euros to sit down on the bench, especially when it have other men playing 2 games in the week, but ifyou even play smart and decide to transfer him, you ent know how much trouble you going to see to get him back

Dat is why I end up dropping Petrov (steups). I really wasn't expecting Ronaldo to bench the same bloody day, that is half of me team point potential gone in one blow. I catch a vibe and didn't put him captain either though.

I hope them men who playing tomorrow and wednesday deliver, cause adebayor certainly en do it...

Dear Mr feliz,

u have 2 step in here, blackburn and astonvilla are playing 2 times in round 14.

now in the overall scheme of things ( meaning the fantasy league this will pan out to ah certain extent, slighht flaw in the game)as all teams have to play 38 games. but wrt the knock out competiton we have,  it makes the playing field very uneven . how will this be addressed?

 yours respectfully,

u have 2 step in here, blackburn and astonvilla are playing 2 times in round 14.

now in the overall scheme of things ( meaning the fantasy league this will pan out to ah certain extent, slighht flaw in the game)as all teams have to play 38 games. but wrt the knock out competiton we have, it makes the playing field very uneven . how will this be addressed?

 yours respectfully,

Manager of Freakazoid xpress

Freakazoid. Are you serious with this complaint?

 :rotfl:

Leh we leave addressing for envelopes and phonebooks. The week eh over yet.. :rotfl:..

i think its a valid complaint, never heard about fifa fair play? ;D no but seriously  its like u playing aganst a team that have 14 men, how on earth can that b fair?

If no other man have a problem with it wat can i do. there is no way i can win that tie cause mi opponet  have 3 blackburn players. so i lose wat woulda otherwise be a tight match up if  blackburn werent  playing again on wednesday.

thats y roman abravamoich and i own  2 teams  ;D

All I know I beat Trinidad Lions and it's on to the next round, the only thing that I don't like is meh rank saying 26th when I am actually 13th and climbing after tomorrow's game with Blackburn. Somebody need to address the ranking order.

Is not a rank is a seed...that will not change throughout the tournament.  It was used at the beginning to setup the matchups...right now them numbers just say where you were seeded at the start...nothing more.

I concur
A team shouldn't be playing twice in the same round when it comes to the Cup.....

That is why you look at the gameweek schedules, it would be prduent on your part to pick your squad for a matchweek where your players have the ability to play twice. the rule is whoever have d higher gameweek score progress, you have to make sure you maximize your gameweek score with both the schedule matchup of games and the composition of your squad.

All part of the management

Dear g,
would u plz send ur address so I could send u a bottle of rum. I could not have said it any better, and in fact i'd have used several obscenities which would have caused unneccessary bacchanal on here. D ability of men to turn into cry-babies when things not in dey favor is so humourous.
Anyhow I feel those obscenities on d tips of my fingaz so lemme go. To the managers out here who know what they doing I say good luck, u know the rules...u know the game...and I wish u d best.
To the cry-babies...there is always next year, hope u at least doing good in d league (though i feel u not)...in d meanwhile go and look for a nipple to suck.

You don't find it absurd to be complaining about teams having players playing twice in a gameweek when you have two teams entered in the competition?

There is no logic to support your side of the argument because the rules state that all gameweek scores are from the FPL site. Players playing double gameweeks is nothing new to FPL. The gameweek fixtures are set up by the FPL site and every manager has the ability to pick players who double up. Not much room for debate.

I would think that having two teams is a bigger flaw and a bigger disadvantage to the majority of sides.

JDB  dont be naive,  I am not the only manager with 2 teams in the competition. fact is since mi first name is Russian its only logical that my second name will be Billionaire  ;D, so i can afford 2 teams like mi drinking partner  the russian "chelsea owner" billonaire ( no relation,it's jus ah common name in russia) ::)

I have one response for all of this...it not that serious.

Whatever 'flaws' may exist in the competition were ingrained by the organizers reliance on situations beyond their control, namely quirks in the FPL scheduling.

If man want to have 2 and five teams to increase the odds of 'him' winning the competition, as long as the rules allow it, more power to him.  But in all honesty...it really that serious?  That runs counter to every argument that can be mounted in favor of fair play, and cannot be justified by the fact that "others doing it".  Others cannot vicariously be responsible for your sense or morality or lack thereof.  Similar principles should apply here.

That said, I'm locked in a nice battle with T.I. that will likely be finalized by day's end...and considering that I've survived longer than expected, I'm just enjoying de ride.  For most this is just for 'shits and giggles' as the saying goes...others apparently have a greater emotional investment in this thing.  Whatever yes.

I'm pretty sure its against the premierleague.com rules:

Squad selection - A manager may enter one Fantasy Premier League squad, multiple squads will be deleted.  (http://fantasy.premierleague.com/M/rules.mc)

That said, its not like they're going to waste their time policing everyone. Its just a game.
Whats a pity is that the people who see it fit to break the rules can't adhere to the same logic (it being just a game)

In any case, I think this gameweek illustrates more than ever the major reason why points deducted for transfers should have been counted, there's nothing to stop a man from changing 3/4 of his team and packing it with Blackburn and Aston Villa Players just to be able to get past his opponent in the second leg, whereas his opponent being more involved in the league cannot afford such liberties. All the same, I didn't open my mouth when the debate was had, and I'm not going to complain about it now.
Shit and kicks is rights

Shotters365 in their to………..
I taking down teams 1 by 1
At the end jump high or jump low it would only have one champ
Remember the name
shotters_365

Next in line  AC Cerlanji

Oh my...

Shotters_365.. .

2nd round exits are pitiful at best... Looks like AC Cerlanji was truly next in line .. to advance that is!

Your inference about the cup's outcome remains true as well, in that,  "Jump High , Jump Low", at the end of it all there will only be one champ.... unfortunately it will not be you. .

It's a shame the  link between greatness and shotters_365 will not be made this year..

However, as resilient and confident as you are, I trust you will make every attempt to ensure that the masses remember your name...(with the exception of winning the cup of course)

Cheers :beermug:

The comeback is in progress. I make up the 5 point deficit and have a slight lead now but we both have players playing tomorrow. I have 3 Villa players and the other guy has 1 but I not taking anything for granted especially after seeing how all them men who stock up on Blackburn players get burn at the weekend.

Right now I just hoping that I don't get mash up by players getting benched or red carded or by Mellberg scoring goals.

It look like Firebrand is out though, unless he could score 40+ points tomorrow.

:cursing: wha de royal muddas c**t!!! blackburn is ah solid side with some brutal players does be hard to score on.. i pick samba since start of de season. he is about 7ft tall and every single game i see he winning header and is ah setta near miss.. he is ah cheap vidic if you will..

And dis is wha he gone and do me dread?!  4-0 at home?!  i ask 3 men to make up ah 15pts for meh and daz how dey repay my faith and investment? steeeeups... to de gallows for allyuh!!! and watch and see as soon as ah sell samba he go score eh?  steeeeups..  :cursing: damn setta shitongs gone and subtract points from meh side..

anyway congrats freakazoid, you were a formidable opponent.. however, fack losing with dignity, i think feliziano and the cup admins should ban you from the tournament for having 2 side, and give me a bligh thru to the next round...

feliziano. lewwe convene a tribunal one time nuh..

If the rules state yuh cannot have 2 teams and ah manager enter 2 teams of course he shud be disqualified ,and if that is de case here this is ah no brainer for the admins...it plain and simple ,it doh matter that this is just ah fun thing we have have to abide by de rules, not so ? Feliz leh we hear yuh..

Well actually I believe that is the only rule from the EPL site we didn't follow. We couldn't weed out people who have 2-3 teams due to time constraints etc, but I guess they eventually did come forward, therefore we know who to double check next year for irregularities.

Maybe Freakazoid in the spirit of good, fair and fun competition might tell us to forfeit his victory against Omar  ;)

If that explanation not good enough and allyuh can't work it out, take your case to the Sports Arbitration Court in Switzerland  :D

JDB, the better team on the day win... after the first leg...i thought i had a chance of an upset...but today i was defeated and totally outplayed by the better team and the better manager on the day ;D

..the management and staff at Tobago United would now throw our support behind u in your quest for the league and cup double....I'll take this time to focus my efforts on avoiding relegation

I think i shoulda have a different name for the team...mighta help team morale  ;D

Well played man. Yuh make 123 which is a good enough score.

iwas also worried thinking that you might have loaded up on Villa or blackburn players to win the tie.

Hopefully th enext round will not be as close.

Hard luck to Shotter, Tallman and Ricky too who score 130 + and still loss. Them scores would be good to win most ties but they get tough matchups.

Especially Ricky since he lose to Duscam wife.

De day before de match he tell meh ah better hope dat Villa doh get ah penalty because Barry go take it and score, and meh opponent had Barry in he lineup. Of course, as yuh well know, Villa went and get ah penalty. STEUPS!!!

-Omarldinho's unborn son
-Omarldinho's dog
-Omarldinho's cat
-Omarldinho's inner child

all under some vague aliases.. is real wuk for de FA next year..

furthermore i've had a change of heart and i am throwing my support behind both freakazoid sides in the hope that they both advance to play each other in the final, causing an uproar for feliz and the FA not taking action when i gave them the chance..

Berris, you make a very good point here which i had not thought of before..

We could easily have a situation where freakazoid plays himself in one of the latter rounds, thus giving him a bye to the following higher rounds.. I mean how fair is that for a man to give himself a free pass to the semis??

Feliziano, you cannot sweep a big issue like this under the carpet.. for the sake of the integrity of the cup take a stand man!

and freakazoid.. i implore you to look deep inside urself, do the right thing and put the pelau back on the table where it belongs...

so no ruling yet on the duplicate team issue?

Feliz.. like Francis Fashions says, you're "making a statement without saying a word".

Continuing to sweep this under the carpet will reduce this great competition to the merit of a Passa Passa Fantasy Cup.

I shudder to think of the uproar if freakazoid gets to play himself.

I hearing what allyuh saying but as I said before we knew before hand it had fellas with 2-3 teams in the different leagues and it woulda been pointless to try and weeed them out in a short period of time.
Thats why I said even before we start that this is an experiment and that we will be changing and implementing rules next year to fix certain problems.
I also appealed to Freak's sense of fair play but so far have received no response.
Anyway i emailed the committee to see if we can come up with a solution.
Will let allyuh know what happen sometime today.

Yea...Feliz wanted to go through each one to make sure it had no duplicates but it was going to take too long and keep back the start of the competition.
That is why it is NOT listed in the rules...since people didn't enter teams themselves and Feliz had to add people from the leagues....not to mention people changing their team names depending on their mood of the day.  Getting people to add teams themselves was impractical with the timeline...not even sure if that could be done next year either.

So is basically a honour thing. It up to people to decide if they want to pull out any team if they have more htan 1 but it a bit late for that.  Men done get their tail buss and knockout and I eh know if they should be resurrected...wham allyuh trying to follow Saints? Looking for all kinda loophole to squeeze een

We agree that it would have been too much work for Feliz to weed out the duplicate teams, but in retrospect it should have probably been stated in the rules beforehand that duplicate teams would not be allowed. Give each player has the responsibility of notifying the committee of which team would be participating.. That way, even if they had multiple teams going forward, the committee would have the power to chop as necessary..

I wasn't going to press the issue, but in the interest of the tournament, we need to appreciate the many possible negative outcomes that this issue raises..  We already talked about the possibility of one man playing himself and giving himself a bye to the next round. Worst yet the potential horror of a dummy final.  Also, we could have a situation where lets say dcs plays and beats freakazoid, and then has to play him again in the next round..  I think the potential is there for plenty unnecessary argument going forward..

its shameful that we cant depend on freakazoid's (and whoever else has more than one team) good nature to resolve this issue as he continues to peep at this thread from his murky shadows. Interesting thing is, he even has the option of eliminating his other team and keeping the one that beat me.

so, like sheffield united last year, must i deal with the consequence of being eliminated by an illegitimate team? Do i take the issue to a higher panel (Official fantasy league staff) and have both his teams ousted? Will freakazoid find a conscience given that his credibility is already shattered by this impasse?  Hmm.. questions, questions, questions....

At the time that the first set of fixtures were drawn up it looked like Freakazoid had two teams but it was not confirmed.

When all is said and done this is a fun thing and with all the work that Feliziano did it was asking a lot for him to be chasing down people to ask them how many teams they have in a league.

Also having multiple teams is actually to one’s disadvantage because if one team wins the whole thing and the next one doesn’t nobody really gives yuh credit or takes you serious. All it means is that one team lucky and the other one isn’t.

Just look at the current situation. Will anybody take either of his teams seriously from here on in whether it is in the league or the knockout?

And if the two teams meet up I don’t see it as a bye to the next round but one of the teams being eliminated by default.

At the end of the day DCS rightly says it is an honour thing. Complaining to Feliz and making a ra ra is only going to take the fun out of it all. We know that the rules are imperfect and next year will be better. At this point if people really feel that the whole thing is devalued by this we should just scrap everything and say let we start over next year.

p.s. I might end up playing one of Freakazoid sides in a couple rounds so I could very well be in the same boat. If it happens is a hard luck and I move on. There is always next year.

dont think i want my team reinstated anyway, as it lost and will not have much credibility going forward.. however mission accomplished in eliminating the credibility of all you multi-side owners in the cup (freakazoid, let the burden of shame be upon you )

on to working on making a charge up the league..

1 bloody point... and I throw way a 10 point advantage dry so

I really thought fabregas wasn't going to be fit and without him arsenal wasn't winning that match...i went and get rid of 2 arsenal men just to make room for Gerrard on the side and captain put down a pile.
This is the last time I betting on Kakapool for anything. I done doh like the side to begin with.  >:(

Congrats to bottle and spoon (whoever you are). The better team won...

Freakazoid,

Congrats on your victory.

You ride the ManU train well in the first gameweek.

I woulda catch you had fabregas put away one of his chances or if the ref had allowed Adebayors goal to stand. But so it go. I really thought Villa coulda keep a clean sheet vs Sunderland and I was sure Gerrard woulda at least score one on ManU but it wasnt to be.

All the best to you in the cup.

I feel is my name calling.

Yes I win by 1 point and only because Fabregas get a yellow card at the end of the Arsenal game, without that I would be tied.

Could be worse...I could be like the man who have the secret weapon and promise to do the double.

fantasy footbal jus doesnt feel the same  ........when the cups on a rest week sigh

Every week is a cup week from here on in, starting tomorrow. (http://fantasy.premierleague.com/M/cup.mc)

Think your season is over? Think again! The FPL Fantasy Cup starts in Gameweek 18 (December 22nd) and all existing teams are automatically entered.

Fantasy Cup - Qualifying
Gameweek 18 (December 22nd) is a qualifying round. The top 1,048,576 scorers in Gameweek 18 will enter the first round in Gameweek 19 (December 26th).

The Gameweek 18 score used will not include any transfer points deductions. If there are more than 1,048,576 qualifiers then there will be a random draw between the lowest scoring teams to see who qualifies.

Fantasy Cup - The knock-out rounds
Each qualifying Fantasy Premier League team will be randomly drawn against another in the first round. The winner (the team with the highest gameweek score minus transfer points), will progress to the second round and another random draw, the losers are out! This process continues until the final Gameweek when the two remaining teams contest the FPL Fantasy Cup final.

Remember. This season, transfer points are deducted from your cup score!

If a cup match is drawn, then the following tie-breaks will be applied until a winner is found:

Most goals scored in the Gameweek
Fewest goals conceded in the Gameweek
Virtual coin toss

Ah taking that one on the chin horse, but i have plenty reasons for that elimination.

1. Computer at home is down,
2. End of semester exams
3. Working plenty overtime this month since there is extra work on the plant and staff shortage

But small ting, this is just motivation to take the league...........no more cup distractions...lol

Looks so.

Things tough now because all the sides so similar. The side I facing have about 8 of the same players as me so it is hard to make up 21 points but stanger things have happened.

I still in the FPL cup though, round 5 I believe. Would be interesting to see which forumite reaches the furthest.

Anybody else still alive.

and after a very poor 1st week  in this cup tie it looks like freakazoid could be on his way out of the cup b4 the 2nd leg kicks off. this week's score has been the lowest in his rookie season  and it will see him having to make up a 20+ gap on his opponent.

blame it on carnival he says as  the manager is left to ponder a season that may have been.

his superiors however arent too upset as he has surpassed  his expectations for the cup and still looks set to make a top 20 finish in the league

the tie-breaker game is always in the bye week
but it seems that i forgot to put in a bye week between the semi-finals and finals
just look back at the previous rounds and you will see that was the norm..i just missed it i guess

therefore we will make Gameweek 30 the tiebreaker game
then the Finals will be gameweeks 31,32 & 33

Goodluck fellas  :beermug:

Title: Re: 2007 Warrior Nation & SW.net Fantasy Football Knockout Cup
Post by: THETRUFF on March 21, 2008, 01:38:50 PM
The Truff would like to take this moment in time/history to congratulate my fellow manager from the Picong Cyar Done league, FC JUMA...as we have done the improbable by having not only two managers from the same league in the finals...but the 1st and 3rd place managers of the PCD...this goes against conventional thinking where managers who were out of the running in the respective leagues thought they had an advantage of landing a final spot...seeing that they can make alot of transfers without care for league standing...
I am very proud..and glad for the overall integrity of this inaugural competition....where we have 2 excellent teams battling for the top prize...hopefully this may send a msg to other managers...it doesnt matter if you transfer an entire 11..at the end of the day...each manager has to figure out which players are in current top form..and choose accordingly....
This has been a great competition and idea to host such an event....and hopefully The Truff will be able to defend this trophy next yr...and achieve the double by capturing the PCD.... a league which i have led and currently am leading for several months now...ok Juma...lets do the final battle....

Football is 90 mins..and as an Arsenal fan...ill fight to the last second....the truff is cming with a merciless team for my final gwk in an attempt to derail the Fc Juma....im giving it my all.....but as the 2 cents said....if i dont win it..im elated that the PCD are going 1....2....in the broader schemes of things...I and Fc Juma have allready won...with a league of 30 odd managers we were able to put 2 of our top teams in the finals...so good look Kareem...hope 3rd time is a charm for me.... ;)....
