Scotland gets Golden Boot
Swansea City FC
Swansea City prolific striker Jason Scotland has been named as the Football League's Puma Golden Boot winner for 2007-08.
The Trinidad & Tobago international struck 29 goals to help the Swans clinch the League One title and a place in the Championship for the first time in 24 years.
Scotland will receive a specially designed Golden Boot trophy (pictured below) to mark the prestigious achievement.
Wolves striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake won the Golden Boot for the Championship after the ex-Manchester United player notched 25 goals for the season, including 13 for previous club Plymouth Argyle before his move to Molineux in the January transfer window.
Peterborough's Aaron McLean registered 33 goals in his first full season at London Road to take the League two Golden Boot.
There were also Golden Glove awards for West Brom's veteran keeper Dean Kiely who recorded 18 clean sheets as he helped the Baggies clinch the Championship title.
In League One, Nottingham Forest 'keeper Paul Smith, runner-up 12 months ago, recorded 25 clean sheets to take the award, just beating Swansea's own Dorus de Vries who kept 22 clean sheets.
Former Swans goalkeeper Willy Gueret picked up the Golden Glove for League Two with 23 shut-outs for MK Dons to secure a League Two and Johnstone's Paint Trophy double.
Lord Mawhinney, Chairman of The Football League, said: "Goalscorers and goalkeepers are frequently the difference between success and failure in football.
"Each of these winners has made an enormous contribution to their club this season and they fully deserve this extra recognition."
