World Cup leopard mascot unveiled

The official mascot of the 2010 World Cup was unveiled on Monday in Johannesburg - a green-haired leopard named Zakumi - FIFA announced at a television gala broadcast nationwide.

Zakumi - the ZA stands for South Africa while kumi means ten in assorted African languages - has been exclusively designed in the host country which will stage the continent's first ever World Cup in 21 month's time.

FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke explained the choice.

when it comes to mascots the more stereotypical the better

wonder what it go be if we host it.

ah gun, ah wining pan, ah pan with dreds holding ah gun???

a child like character juggling a football would have safeguarded the game for the kids... now they use Poke Mon characters...

rubbish oui...


at least they use a "Tango" ball (straight from de clipart...), maybe it might be makin' a sort of anniversary or guest appearance in the next tournament...?...
