Guyana are going to attempt to get in five of their overseas players, one from the USA and four from England. The one from the USA plays in the USL and the ones in England range from Tier 5 to Tier 8 (Conference/5 (1), Ithsmian Premier/7 (2), Ithsmian Division 1//8 (1))
John Rodrigues, Chris Nurse, Howard Newton, Jake Newton, and Shawn Beveney, respectively
-
Bring all yuh strongest team if we cyah beat Guyana even wit all dey foreign base we up d creek witout a paddle
-
When is try outs for the National team cause I could play left full back, right fullback, I could defend recieve the ball properly, read the game well, I could hit you at 20 yards on the floor proper, 30-40 yards on a dime in the air lofted, driven, bending. So when is try outs. ???
-
Guyana again man, steups >:( That not helping our preparations we helping them. We should be playing better quality teams, damn. All this doing is making Maturana and Cornmeal look good. We should be looking to play some South American teams or some lower ranked European teams even if their second string teams. Those teams will provide a much better test for our boys, frig man. >:(

S**t I just glance the thread my bad ;D I just see we playin Guyana again

Trinidad have played Guyana 3 times this year, 2-1, 2-0, and 3-0 (Jan, July, and Sept)...that is a promising trend for Soca Warriors fans.

After their last game in the Caribbean Championships a few of these players announced their retirements, so I'm not sure of their status, their coach said they would be in a Latapy/Yorke role though. Charles Pollard, Collie Hercules, Shawn Bishop and Richard Reynolds according to Stabroek News, though all 4 of the 4 are in the squad

"Just like what Trinidad and Tobago did with Dwight Yorke and Russell Latapy, likewise will we be doing with the two players who still have a lot to offer to Guyana’s football and its development. I will use them until they are using a walking stick."

Anyone watchin the Antigua v St.Kitts game? The result of this game will have a bearing on what kind of game T&T v Guyana is. If Antigua lose, Guyana has to beat T&T to qualify, so we could see a better game if this happens. If Antigua wins, then Guyana are already out, so there might not be the same motivation...

Yea i was there, a much better game from Hyland and Leon in particular which sort of upped the overall play. While we were far from stellar, there were less mistakes in this game than the last. We looked unimaginative in the attacking third especially in the first half. Dwarika came on in the second and brought a little more enterprise. Toussaint while having quick feet and tried to link up in midfield is just too small and is easily disposessed, he has good balance but doesnt have a low center of gravity which takes away from being strong while shielding the ball.
Surprisingly Jorsling looked good, while not flashy or skillful but took his goal well and did the simple things. He is stronger than Sealy so he was able to hold posession a little better. I not looking good for Sealy as over the last 3 games he hasn't really had any real impact.
Two centre backs looked ok. No mistakes and smothered the Richardson threat today. I swear if Makan Hislop could actually concentrate for 90 minutes he will develop into a quality centre back. I think we have to stick with him. He has had almost a year of games under his belt now.
Unfortunately opposing teams will continue to expose our weaknesses which is at the wing back positions and yes I including both Cyd and Avery in that mould. All of our wing backs left and right side have very poor technique.
On to the 19th

Group B looking hard!
