I was looking at our team speed and that led me to wonder about who was the fastest Trini player that I had ever seen.
I remember Nixon in his early days being really fast.
I'd like to hear your opinions

Wendell "Tractor" Belgrave
Josh Johnson
Jerren Nixon (more nippy than fast)
Arthur "Jap" Brown
Observer go come and post bout some obscure south man who did play fuh Lanterns or one a dem village team so.... ;D

That will be hard to do but here are a couple names i can recall Warren Archibald,Steve David,Mickey Rat(Memphis Arima),Crawford (Police),Eddie Jones (BP Palo Seco),Bachack (Army)when i played almost every team had one or two very quick guys on it.

I know him as ah coach with ah BIG BIG pot belly and ah bandy foot... I could not imagine grayson blazing down ah football field at all at all!! LOL

I feel the same way when I see "Jap" Brown name. Can't even think about him as a fast player. maxg, coop's, palos and them are the true elder statesmen.

in he early days nixon was fast while keeping the ball tight-real quick with the ball close to his feet.
jason rocke cic colin rocke brother was real fast-he control was kinda all over but tha man was fast. fastest colleges league player i ever saw.

Aye big man don't underate Mike Grayson,he played on our senior national team as a youth having come the national youth team,one of the fittest players in his time,we played on the senior team together,and yes he was fast energy to burn.

He use to buss meh tail in 100 & 200,as well as win at Texaco games(still have that?)...to win the Victor Ludorum at QRC ah enter in every event just to beat him...It was between He, Michael Andrews-shotput,javelin,diiscus (Miami) and myself. ah come second in everything, so ah pips dem....Dem men used to train like dey mad...Grayson running sandtrack evrery morning, and Michael(A) pumping iron...d only ting ah run and pump was....uh...uh...beers....well yuh know dat was comin? ent?

Horace Lovelace- Was the fastest. Trust me- Nixon a close second. Fatima had a red man called Raeburn and Kelvin Nancoo was wicked on the wing.

Marcelle and Lewis were the two fastest I ever saw.
Too young to see the fellas in the 70s.
Nixon not as fast....Glenn is fasst...but I've only seeh highlights of him. So Id\ don't want to judge.

In my time Steve David, Trevor Federicks, Warren Archibal. I remember david was voted the quickest in the NASL at one time.

it had alot of fast players sah but the 4 that stick to me is leonson lewis, clint marcelle, jerron nixon(that leave meh on the wing in a game against him) and adrian fonrose (I see defenders diving at this man feet with they hands trying to stop him when he used to play for trintoc and no they werent goalies , I nearly dead with laugh).....

Going on my memory Leonson was real fast.
But looking at Glenn recent games I say he win....he going from 0-60 in nuttin. Put him on an isolation and he running past men easy.
But leo wasn't easy neither.
And Alibey used to run top speed calling for the ball and real puffing at the end like a sprinter ;D

ah never saw him play but from my understanding jap brown was fast as hell (had to give respect to meh old coach)!!! fonrose, marcelle den nixon..thats my top 3. leonson ah distant 4th.
ah see ah man call ah name colin rocke...that was ah fast MF too!!! but if yuh callin rocke name yuh have to call men like kona hislop...glenn benjamin...raeburn...jeremy shortt...stephan trotman (for de fatima boys)...ah cud also call glasgow...he wasnt de fastest but the ball at he foot yuh ketchin yuh ass to get him!!!

What make Leoson and Nixon look real fast was that they are/were the best dribblers when the ball in motion. But Glen in a class by he self..Ah never see anybody leave out man on pace so. But Glen not even in the same class as Leoson and Nixon when it come to dribblin...

trevor highley anybody remember blackpool from arima? I always thought grayson was de fastest ( 10.45 in 100m), buh highley, it had to be plenty bad weed , collect ball on the left fuh TT and disappear in de netherland

That's why i said this would be difficult,i'm around a long time many gererations and is one thing T&Twas known for and that is players that were fast,i can call hundreds of them,i myself was not a dribbler but no one got to that ball before me,i had a lot of endurance ,was extremely quick and off course basic skills.

I think this post is more about hearing opinions and educating those who don't know about past players as opposed to trying to come to some definitive conclusion.
I myself am hearing names that I have never heard of before and I welcome that.
Ppl shouldn't be getting mad because some posters don't agree or don't know some of t he players being mentioned.
