that squad have alot of young players... they will need a big coach to have any chance

Players that will not be there-(2012 ages)

Ince(39), Dog(35), Avery(36), Cyd(37), Lawrence(37), K.Thomas,(??) Noel(35)

Stern will be 34 next campaign(2012)... Doubt he will return but he could
Sancho will be 34...experienced CB.. we could use him next campaign for sure
K.Jack will be 35... If he can get at least a full season in before 2012 he will be in my plans.. hopefully he is still the same keeper we know him to be.. Legend

not a bad squad... Get a top class coach in(from at least Jan 2012) and we could have a chance

Are those ages correct?  Every time I see the ages of Lawrence, C. Samuel (which one?)  they seem to be getting younger.  The only members of this team that I expect to be young enough to be of value are Tinto, Daniel, KJ, Jloyd Samuel, Birchall and Glen.  Others who should have been in this campaign and should be available in 2012 are Roberts and Hyland.  But could we really pick a team now to be played 4 years later?  I guess it is a useful exercise to exorcise the demons and bad dreams of the present campaign.  All yuh wake me up when it is over.  Ah swear ah dreamin'.

But who knows? He might be on some Cafu shit.

Carlos is 34 in 2014.

But who knows? He might be on some Cafu shit.

That is no problem

He will keep himself in good shape over the next 4 seasons and If we do in fact qualify the incentive of world cup football will make him fit

I'm really glad he'll be playing in 2012.. Our right side and left side are very strong.. and CM's are good too.. just hoping Julias develops as well as Abu Bakr too so we can have 2 young CB's and hopefully Sancho who will be 34 in 2012 can add some experience if he can be called back

Tinto or Peltier RW options as well as Colin Samuel who can also play LW with ease.. Daniel as a LW option and young Akeem Adams if need be.. even Akeil Edwards is a LW option

Birchall and Hyland the CM partnership for me... with Guerra, Theobald, Leon, L.Paul and Sean De Silva providing cover...not to mention other CM names will improve and be in contention when 2012 comes

An improved hungry KJ?..can he have a big campaign?

D.Roberts, C.Glenn can be deadly... Scotland if he is willing to play... Maybe even Stern if he is fit and wants to use his wealth of experience to guide the younger strikers in the team and possibly be the Captain... he is a goalscorer and that is hard to replace

Young strikers like Jamal Gay and many more will be in contention as well

We have a good mix of young and old and in the right hands we can be a threat

The Road to Brazil starts now

Check out the Under 16 team wid Yorke, Latas, Faustin and Lara et al, the Under-20 team that went to Portugal and the Under 23 team of 1996... talent is nothing NEW... is putting it TOGETHER has always been our problem

No dont get me wrong, a lot of those fellas ARE very talented, I just meant that we've had the array of talent BEFORE, and failed to build a successful TEAM... the Under 20's performance in Egypt will give us some idea of which youths can step up... I expect some more of them will get European contracts

I have been looking at the present potential pool of players the Warriors are depending on for the push for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and couldn't put my finger on the player who might be considered as the key to Trini's success to get through qualification. Ah know it have some knowledgeable men on this forum who might be able to answer that so I welcome your thoughts/input etc

And so the merry go round begins again for another four years. Players already selected based on what? name?  past performance?
What about  calling this  Potential depth chart? but to automatically  preselect players for the 2014 squad is  a practice in mediocrity biased  favortism and all the isms wrong with TNT football.

Who on this team have more speed than jones in the forward position? jones is ah good striker,he just don't have ah good strike pardner. jones is the kinda player like crouch and carew, they make space for the pochers tuh score, but won't nessesarily score ah whole heap.

It funny how for a typical trini a striker must be fast and skilful otherwise he not good.

If you naming the top 5 strikers in the world, only Torres fit that bill..if he even make the top 5.

Fabiano, Drogba, Eto'o, Villa, Rooney...none of them could really make trinidad side as a man who is collect the ball, face the defender and run at them.

I guess if we count C. Ronaldo  as a striker he could fit the bill...but even then that is just part of his armory.

Good lineup. Starts with the Gold Cup. WE WILL MAKE BRAZIL 2014!
We should be getting ready from now, but ah bet we will wait until 2012 after qualifications start before put a team together then we will  start talking about 2018.

Usual stupidness

A lot of people have the notion that the WC is every 4 years and that the have 4 yrs to prepare. That is not the case. Qualifications start just around the end of the Olimpic Games. That is 2012. So we really have 2 yrs to prepare a team.

2 TWO 2 TWO 2 TWO 2 TWO 2 TWO 2 TWO 2 TWO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ronaldo  as a striker he could fit the bill...but even then that is just part of his armory.

but why yuh leave out messi, essien, tevez and robinho from there? bc they are not jones type strikers
Rly??? when essien play as a striker? last season??

Them men will be at their peak come 2014 at those ages(30-31), except for Carlos. But..he is our sole creative player right now, so we need him until the Tintos and the Guerras get their act together.

In fact, all Carlos have to do is ask Dwight to meet Giggs and learn from him for the next 4 years to remodel his game and become the experienced head leading the younger charges.

not this season, but i have seen birchall for some time and his first touch is not up to par especially if men want him to play a holding mid. he will have to show me something spectacular the next time he plays

PS: while we are on the subject of birchall and leon. now i eh no birchall fan, BC his passing game is suspect, but the fella is very good going forward and is ah very good scoring option, but leon can't pass , can't dribble, and is lousy going forwrd.

IMO the fella is ah pure pure laborer wid no vision WSE!

so breds you telling me in a matter of less than a year, birchall has elevated his game now that he is an excellent passer, dribbler and can dictate as a holding mid, serving as the link from our backline?

i really have to take in that la galaxy game to see this.

Bro, if you compare the +/- of both players. Birchall's comes out on top.

Well at least we have 2 decent defensive players. But they have to be more than decent. You all see the caliber of mid-fiels in the current WC. Birch and Leon have to step up big times. I like clyde. He is decent. Needs to be a bit forceful in the middle. Birch is a good defender and ball winner. But like a lot of us know, his ball control and passing is still a little suspect. But who are we to complain. He is a veteran WC player.

Ti , ah really don't want tuh go on stink wid yuh bro, but let it be known that clyde leon is ah BUMMM! waste of time! non entity on the field! ah total waste of ah call up!

seen him play in giant stadium against red bulls, and i must say, he's ah total fackin GOAT!!  wid no fackin creativity WSE.

deeks we really have only one good defensive mid and that is hyland, and this defensive mid is also a good attacking option.

birchall is OK, but i cyar see him starting when we have hyland and carlos who could play in the CM position. i could see birchall coming of the bench definitely, but hyland deserve tuh start over him.

ah also don't want tuh see carlos in the right flank position ever again, especially when we have houton hector and hayden tinto. i think we could get better productivity from him on the center of the pitch.

i say drop leon now!! he's not up too standard, and international duty is above his callin.

Leon... dont think this is an internation player... his best bass is over 30 yrds...cant pass the ball short..very slow play also... must say hes got a good right foot shot...and his position is not good...the word is he trains like a beast...maybe thats why they tend to put him in...hope he gets better...

and my tip... hector is the man... but he will play inside...
