Clayton makes Corey's day
saddlers.co.uk
POPULAR Saddlers' goalkeeper, Clayton Ince recently made a surprise home visit to see one of his biggest fans.
Young Corey Challenor is suffering from a condition called Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis. It is an extremely rare condition that can affect just eight people in one million.
ADEM is a result of an autoimmune process which starts to attack a previously fit and well person. In Corey's case his brain cells were targeted with his vision, co-ordination and muscles severely affected.
As a massive Walsall fan, he was delighted to see his hero turn up to chat football and now a pair of Clayton's goalkeeping gloves that he left as a gift sit pride of place next to his bed. "Corey was absolutely made up," said his mum, Susan. "It meant so much to the whole family that Clayton was prepared to come over and spend so much time with Corey.
"It gave him a real boost and is something that he will never forget. For Clayton to leave a pair of his goalkeeping gloves and agree to help with the fund-raising to buy a new car seat is a fantastic gesture - such acts of kindness rarely get the coverage that they deserve."
