Exclusive: Nigerian FIFA member wants friendly with England

http://www.insideworldfootball.biz/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=7613:exclusive-nigeria-fifa-member-wants-friendly-with-england&catid=61:england&Itemid=74

Dr. Amos Adamu, a member of the FIFA Executive Committee, has asked the leader of England's bid to host the 2018 World Cup to arrange a friendly with Nigeria before the World Cup in South Africa next year...

England have already played a friendly in Port-of-Spain in an effort to gain the support of Trinidad and Tobago's vice-president Jack Warner and are in the process of arranging a match against Egypt at Wembley Stadium next March.

That would give them the opportunity to impress Hany Abou Rida, another member of the FIFA Executive Committee who is also a leading figure in the Egyptian FA.

The idea of travelling to Thailand to play to help secure the vote of Worawi Makudi has also been mooted.

FIFA is sickening

They are?

What about the FA's?

How much do they stand to gain by hosting the World Cup?

Think they would "grovel" like this if the reward was not GREATER than the consequences?

You livin in the REAL world.  People jump queues, speed up to go through a yellow light, text while driving the world over.  Because the scale is different doh mean the fundamental issue is any different.

England more than take advantage of countries like Nigeria etc in the past during their "colonial" time.  It's deliciously ironic that they now find themselves having to be the puppet instead of the puppeteer.

I actually don't think they have to... with Jack it was kinda necessary because of his CONCACAF pull, and since the US was the other candidate for 2018.  But there is simply no way the Cup goes to any other country but England in 2018.

That is one set of drivel you write there, I wasnt excluding the FA's but they take the lead from FIFA and FIFA's endemic corruption sets the standard (bit like the government in Trinidad). It is so bad that the obvious sweetening and gerrymandering isnt even kept undercover. Its right there out in the open. Your comparison between England being a colonial power in Nigeria and now pandering to the Nigeria FA is not ironic as the FA is seperate from the British government (unlike ours) but if you find that "deliciously ironic" good for you. Doesnt change the fact that FIFA is sickening and if you can defend that charge ...good luck.
