Amen to that.

Spanish striker said Spain opening loss to Switerland made them stronger!!..Link to full article, really good
read..http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/news/newsid=1264831/index.html#llorente+swiss+defeat+made+stronger
After we lost our first game I said it would make us a lot stronger. It was like a slap in the face and a real wake-up call.Fernando Llorente, Spain striker

whatever the prediction is now, it go be one boring, lopsided game. Easy win fuh Spain.

Ditto!

Any sightings of Larissa Riquelme?
-
Spain vs Paraguay... Who more racist?
-
Paraguay looking just as comfortable as Spain knocking the ball around. Except they both doing it in Paraguay defensive third.
This will be a long slow one I think.
-
Spain going home tonight...
-
Paraguay is doing a lot more running to keep up. It will come down to how much stamina they have

Which game you watching? Paraguay looking like ah setta bachak on de field, no discernible shape or form. Look like the Paraguay strategy is to just disrupt Spain in midfield.
-

They looking dangerous on the counter though, just missing that final connection.

Yes, they are pressing hard and probably running too much, but once they have the ball, they not looking rattled or just hoofing it out. They look.... comfortable.
-
Good goal disallowed... hard luck dey.
Bitter I just find they looking disjointed, not really connecting they passes.
-
haha ha... dis one lookin like extra time and spot kicks...
but, Spain goin home tonite!!!...
-
really surprised that Spain did not give a different look from the starting line up.
Torres out of form and maybe it would have been a surprise to start Navas, with Llorente
Spain really lack penetration and width.
-

That is because you comparing them to Spain. ;)
They pressing hard to win the ball, controlling it in defense, advance it to their midfield (playing deep in their own half) and then looking to play a long diagonal to the front men, hoping to split the Spain defense for the 1 goal they need. The offensive "strategy" is really to hope that the forwards can do something once they get close enough.
-
Boring game.
-
Good call
-
I listening to the radio and watching on tv. The radio feed is a full 5 -8 seconds before the tv feed. So they calling penalty before the corner even take.
-
Great save
-
Wow.
Saved!!!!!
-
I eh think Spain go miss they penalty....
-
Geez
-
Holy 4k!!
-
Unbe-effing-lievable!!!!!
-
Double jeopardy!
-
High drama! What will we do when the World Cup end? The beautiful game has no equal!
-
Dis ref musbe nicknamed "Tweets"
-
Well at least Gyan cyar feel too bad I guess.
::)
All of a sudden, players having problems converting penalties.

Fabergas ridin pine for the national side due to the barca players so now he realize hey I better off stayin at Arsenal oui!
-
men wilting under pressure.
-
@Observer for real about Torres. Ah mean is de QF - Torres running out of games.
-
Germany is the best ah say.
-
d Paraguay kick should have been done over
-
@Observer for real about Torres. Ah mean is de QF - Torres running out of games.
....and alyuh want to tell me that he and Rooney better than Drogba. Drogba knock one in with ah break hand. These fellas playing with all the best players in the world and cannot score, hardly a shot on goal. Drogba is the best.
-
Ref loss control ah dis one. Okay yuh call back Alonso penalty because man cross into de box early, fine. That is ah ticky tack infraction that had nothing to do with the goal going in.... but what of the keeper coming off he line early TWICE?
What of the Villar taking out Fabregas on the rebound?
...anyways, Spain go take this they done start asserting theyself arready. Paraguay getting tired in the middle and starting to sell out on they tackles.
-
Weak penalty for Spain. The keeper save and then foul Fabragas we. No call on the one that was actually a penalty.
-
This match playin out like Barca vs Inter!
-
Paraguay keep getting chances right in the middle of the Spanish defense.
Santa Cruz should have slipped a pass forward to the left. Cordozo should have shot earlier.
Spain need some different Ideas. They rediculous with the posession, but can't convert that into goals. They really missing a Healthy Torres, who is more of a blunt instrument. Blunted this WC. The better analogy would be a cutlass vs a scalpel.
And as I type Spain scores. Post x3!
-
Villa comes through once again.
1-0 Spain.
-
About facking time!!
Villa again. That thing nearly crawl out de goal yes, lol.
-
David Villa!! That man having a MASSIVE World Cup.
-
Even goals scoring in ah dramatic way... ;D
Big Up!
-
Pedro shows, Torres how it's done.
-

-
Pedro shows, Torres how it's done.
By doing what... kicking it against the upright? Iniesta is the one who create that goal for Spain.
'bout Pedro.
-
A study in contrasts. Roque come on slow as a rock and Pedro come and nearly buss de mark.
-
Santa Cruz as mobile as the post Villa scored off! More plodding than a clydesdale!
-
Heart attack WC. Them men nearly didn't score that chance.
-
>:( I wanted to see extra time and penalty kicks! >:(
Yeah boy..Paraguay need to score quick!!! :D
-
St Iker!!!!!
-
David Villa!! That man having a MASSIVE World Cup.
best striker in the world for years hiding out in Valencia
-
he shouldn't put his big head down there! Cut above the eye!
-

Yeah boy..Paraguay need to score quick!!! :D
Dey had dey chance and blow it! Now, no football 'til frikkin Tuesday! :(
-
As an aside: I am impressed with the commentary of John Harkes. His realtime technical analysis has been crisp, and he has shown that he is abreast of the game: clubs, players, tactics, etc. FSC, if allyuh want American analysts, look one right in yuh face. I forget, de man doh saddle with Wynalda, so dat ain't go work.

Nah dred... I rate Harkes in the past but he has been absolute shit this tournament.
...that aside, McManaman totally cross the line there with his commentary "a Guatemalan referee officiating the quarterfinals... got to do better than that". What his nationality have to do with anything.
-
Iniesta is one sick baller. Showing what Barca missed for most of the season. He can penetrate through his creative passing and he can penetrate with dribbling. he eh play he does rest some stink small goals beats on man nah. pure inch
What can you say Villa, that man is a predator.
I think Germany have way more weapons, their scoring coming from several players, rather than depending one.

I was wondering if I heard right from McManaman...that is the same attitude that English people have about the game: that they alone could play, and that is why they in back in facking England watching.
-
WTF......The English commentator on ESPN say the ref. had ah nightmare. Alright cool. Then he preface with "with all due respect" before he say, "a Guatemalan referee. Not good enough for a quarterfinal" So being Guatemalan should disqualify the man.Dem people is some real MC yes.
And he eh mean nothing else than exactly wha' he say. Dem kinda thing does make yuh write off dem people and their culture wholesale.

Is not just the Brits.....gullit, everybody was critical the Malian referee after the usa game and his nationality, the way they was talkin' 'bout de man, was part of the problem same way.
-
A little bit ah luck does come een handy in trute.....Villa take a shot against a top-performing Portuguese 'keeper, the rebound fall right at his feet, he score. Today, Pedro hit the post, ball fall PERFECT for Villa, he score. Not trying to take nutt'n from him....He was obviously destined to have a grand Tournament. This was/is his time.
-
Pedro shows, Torres how it's done.

'bout Pedro.
Dude, the shot off the post was from Pedro. Yes Iniesta passed the ball to him, but Pedro first touch was class and got it turned on goal. Torres could not get it done even when he had position.

When last Villa score a goal that was not a gift?

The first goal he scored vs Honduras is the only non-gift when he shot while off-balance.
2nd goal vs Honduras took a deflection that put it over the keeper.
(Vs Honduras he also missed the entire goal with his penalty, no pressure, and he did not blast it.)
Goal vs Chile the goalie was about 40 yards from his goal. Villa had to hit it well, but there was no keeper in the goal.
Goal vs Portugal the keeper saved the initial shot, but the keeper was on the floor for the rebound. He lucky that came straight back to him.
Goal vs Paraguay, the keeper was somewhere out of the goal again when the ball came back off the post straight to Villa
Is only gifts and one off-balance shot this man score so far for de WC.
-
Weird match....didn't really follow most of the first half though I was right there.
Villa is a class striker, no doubt, but last time I see a man score such a lucky goal (two post) was AC Milan coming from behind to put out Lyon when they had their best squad in 05 or so (Essien, Diarra, Malouda, Abidal,
Juninho, Coupet, etc)
I don't see Spain getting past Germany.
Oh yeah, and I doh know if is lack of fitness, but somebody should tell Santa Cruz to unhitch that trailer he have holding him back when he have to run...geez pardner slow like moroccoy...
-
i dunno how ppl cud like spain nah......they real booooooring. 1000 passes and 1 shot? nah man....daiz put ppl to sleep.
-
Spain seems uncertain as to what is their best team. When Torres was removed they look far
more mobile and began to penetrate. Germany on the other hand are balanced and even the subs
understand their responsibility. still its one game, anything can happen

Spain is simply scared. They, as a nation, have never made it this far in the tournament and they don't know what to do with themselves. Remember in the beginning how Casillas talk about the english 'keepers being the weak link in their team because they had no big game experience at the club level? Well, Spain eh sure what to do and the pressure mounts more and more the further they go into the tournament. They have the firepower to have run over Paraguay yesterday and they couldn't see dey way! Watch Germany dice dem up like pelau carrots.

As funny as this is, it says alot about football legacy, only Klose, Bastian S., Lahm, Podolski and a few others have made it this far before, but here is where having generations of success at the highest levels can pay dividends to delivering when it matters
