Rest In Peace Pat Bishop.
Your choir is even larger now. :(
edit:
The Office of the Minister of Planning and the Economy has issued the following statement:
Pat Bishop died today, Saturday August 20, 2011 in the emergency facility of the Port of Spain General Hospital.
She was rushed there by ambulance after succumbing to what has been preliminarily diagnosed as a stroke and heart attack during a meeting of the High Level Expert Panel to Guide the Implementation of Arts, Cultural and Entrepreneurial Projects and the Patriotism Project at the Ministry of Planning and the Economy.
She was 71 years old.
Pat Bishop has spent her life as an artist and as an activist in the creative community in Trinidad and Tobago. She has been from time to time outspoken on issues related to culture and the arts and was one of our most independent thinking citizens.
All members of the High Level Expert Panel, the Ministry of Planning and the Economy and the Government of Trinidad and Tobago on behalf of citizens of Trinidad and Tobago mourn the passing of this cultural pioneer and leader and extend our condolences to her sister Gillian and the rest of the Bishop family.
