I believe the team was called Ilkeston FC in the South Gate First Division.

However, I've seen the site referred to as Ilson. He played for them in the 71/72 season.

VB

The first Black player to represent the club. Moved locally from Trinidad, where he was twice player of the year, in Spring 1971 and made 5 appearances, scoring once, early in the 1971/72 season. A promising if somewhat erratic forward he was forced to return to the Caribbean as he was unable to find employment. Debut: 23/9/71 v Nuneaton Borough (H). Last appearance: 16/10/71 v Cheltenham Town (H).

Actually I had to research this. So thanks for the trivia. For some reason I thought LB was older. But really his peak was in the 70s, when I was a kid. Had he come along ten years later, he probably would've been a shoe in for the ASL team.
