Samuel signs off maiden Malaysian season with another man-of-the-match display‏.
By: Bryan Lim.

His team was virtually out of the running of the Malaysia Cup spot but Kordell continued to display a high level of professionalism by single-handedly destroying Malaysia Cup bound Pahang FA with another virtuoso performance.

In the 9th minute, Kordell cut in from the left wing and dribbled past 2 Pahang defenders. He then faked a shot with my left foot before slipping it to the his fellow forward to put PDRM FA 1 up.

His next assist arrived in the 35th minute, when he sprinted past his marker on the right wing and squared the ball back for his teammate to make it 2-0.  Pahang pulled a goal back in the 43rd minute to half the deficit at halftime.

In the 58th min, Kordell skillfully controlled a cross from his captain with his thigh and laid it back for one of the midfielders to increase the lead to 3-1.

In what was probably his last game for PDRM FA,  Kordell received a pass from the right side from his forward in the 79th minute and hit a first time bullet from outside the 18-yard box to put the game beyond Pahang's reach at 4-1.

Pahang FA saved its blushes with a consolation goal 3 minutes later but it was not enough to steal the thunder from man-of-the-match, Kordell Samuel.

PDRM FA has expressed their willingness to retain Kordell for next season but the big T&T forward is still mulling over other opportunities from Ireland, Malta, Vietnam, India, Singapore and Australia.

He said,"I know how much PDRM values me and I am grateful to them for giving me an opportunity to make a name in Asia. All I am thinking now is to have a good break and catch up with my family and friends back home.

I will discuss with my representative, Trebol Sports International on the different opportunities which have arisen and make a decision in a week or two."

Now I does have to wonder why players like this are not invited to the main camps/ do they not appear to be our future for teh 2018 WC campaign? I think watching the main core of our present team, the players with experience and in their 30's who are struggling to get through ah team like Haiti, may not have the wheels come time for qualifications.
This seems like the right time to begin the build. Then we still have players  like Cordell Cato Willis Plaza and who knows if we could entice Nick Deleon?  Yeah I think time to make some bold moves and set a plan  under Leo and Stephen to begin the structuring for 2018.

start compiling the names for next camp/set of friendlies, remember however, where they coming from, their club rlease situation and cost involved. What ever happen to the speedy fella who ended up breaking his foot, think he was playing A- League. his name slips me.

El caribeño Samuel fue anunciado un día antes como nuevo jugador del Atlético Marte, pero Peraza dijo que "conocimos de esa noticia, pero el profesor Sarulyte tiene contacto directo con él y viene para el Chalate".

Samuel had been announced as playing next season with Marte. However, Chalatenango's rep is saying they are aware of the announcement and that, despite the announcement, Kordell will play for them, not Marte (based on the player's contact and relationship with his ex-coach).

On the other hand, there was this recent article below.

Basically, Chalatenango needed the infusion of players. They only had 14 committed, players and the incoming coach had players in mind to add to the 14. However, he says, he hoped the club's management could strike a deal with the players he had in mind. Kordell seems to have been one of those players.

In the club's statement there is nothing concrete, although things will probably work out. Kordell is said to be arriving at the club on Friday. Probably to sign and make it formal.
