-
Medal form from Gordon, hope he can run faster in the finals
-
Santos needs to run big. If not he will get an outside lane for finals. Not good for a guy that size.
-
Gordon clock the fastest time into the final :o , legit medal chance
-
Gordon clock the fastest time into the final :o , legit medal chance
spectacular, Caribbean won all 3 semis
TnT, Grenada and DR...
would like the final to end in that order too ;D
-
Gordon clock the fastest time into the final :o , legit medal chance
Lets hope we have a Gordon & Gordon medal party after the finals of the 400m Hurdles and the 400m flat respectively!
Bears well for our 4 x 400m relay squad later on even if Quow is injured and can't run! :beermug:

Cant remember the last time I seen so much Trini representation in a finals. Must be a record.

Everbody is going to feed off Santos in the upper lane. Gordon needs to stick close to kirani. Kick on the straight
-
Thats right. Santos has the biggest hill to climb being in lane 7. They will certainly feed off of him.
Looks as if Gordon got the lane of his wishes.
I can wait for tomorrow. Two Gordons will set two national records and make history.

Kirani James ... yuh jes have tuh be happy fuh that yute.

Please do us all a favour and start one! :praying:
-
Those 400m semis by both Gordons were huge....and so was Njisane's QF in the match sprint.
Here's praying that they recoup mentally to do us proud tomorrow...have a good feeling about them all!!
Kudos to RT, KAB, and GBIII on their finals showing.
Let's also pray for medals in the men's 4x100m, 4x400m (with Merritt out), and the women's 4x100m.
The men's 4x400m is now looking like Bahamas from US (even without Merritt) from Belgium or T&T for bronze (IF Quow can deliver a decent leg).

I feel yuh Trini.. I think she will break NR.. Will run a 22.2s-22.4s.
Too much pressure in this final. Somebody big false starting or a huge upset...(Semoy or the African squeezing for a medal) Wishful thinking but lets see. Semoy is the well rested one out of the whole field.

Do you still beleive that Sorillo was making finals in this race?
Nah think not.
He stood a much better chance of making the final in the 200m than in the 100m that's for sure!
It would all have depended on his Heat draw and if he could have ran near his SB in the Heats and near his PB in the Semis.
Sorrillo's PB of 20.16 would have seen him comfortably into the 200m final if he was in semi-final 2 or 3 for example.
Point is he wasted a lot of time and energy concentrating on the 100m as he stood a much slimmer (zero) chance of making the final in the 100m than in the 200m.
Sorrillo will now have to live with that big mistake, bad athlete management I guess.
-
Point is he has run no where closae to his PB
-
Point is he has run no where closae to his PB
Point is of course he didn't as he was spent from wasting his time in running the 100m rounds!
Poor decisions!! :frustrated:

Yes die hard, we broke the record again. Barely but we did. I really wish Quow was healthy to come in and give the squad a boost, but well done regardless.

Very disappointing result as that bronze medal that Ukraine won could have been ours if only we could have gotten our baton round safely.
Maybe we should have had Hackett starting and Michelle finishing seeing who Michelle was up against on the first leg causing KAB to run off a bit too early just trying to keep up with our competitors.
They need to do a post-mortem on that disappointing performance as we threw away a highly likely Olympic bronze medal today.

Who besides us on here would have predicted that T&T would have medalled in the 4x400m relay final before this Olympics? Most would have been surprised just to see T&T making the 4x400m relay final.
Congrats to the 4x400m relay team, a new national record and we now are members of the sub 3 minute 4x400m relay club as we should have been a long time ago!
Next target upgrading our Olympic bronze to a silver or gold at World Champs next year with a fit Quow hopefully available and back to 44 mid 400m form! :beermug:
-
Bigger than that.. Who would have thought that Lalonde Gordon would have won a Bronze in the 400m. He is the greatest surprise in athletics at the Olympics. Gordon got the A-standard the final day for team submissions. What Gordon accomplished is huge. He is certainly one of the top 5 athletes in Trinbagos track and field history. Yes a national hero!
-
SocaPro, next step is paying more attention to our women's program. Them need the attention and resources. >:( I real sour!!!!

SocaPro, next step is paying more attention to our women's program. Them need the attention and resources. >:( I real sour!!!!
Most definitely!!
I think we also have the potential to field a world class Women's 4 x 400m relay team at these major champs but we need to give our female athletes more support and attention.
I'm still feeling hurt by our Women’s 4x100m relay team failing to get the baton round in the final as they stood a decent chance of medalling with a bronze and a new NR but it would have been close between us and Ukraine.

. 4 Trinidad and Tobago
(Michelle-Lee Ahye; Kelly-Ann Baptiste; Kai Selvon; Semoy Hackett) TRI DNF .
I hope Ms. Carl Lewis remains consistent and casts suspicion on this WR, the largest drop in the event's WR time by the US women, just as he did with the drop in Bolt's 100m time from 10.03 to 9.69 (one year to the next), although it is very plausible that Bolt's 10.03, being his first foray into the event, should naturally be followed by a significant drop, then not as much after that - 9.69 to 9.58.
-
but we will have the disadvantage of being in lane 9 and not being able to see any of our opponents until the final 100m stretch if we run faster than most of our competitors!
Pro, you don't think an athlete in lane 9 knows he has to run his rabbit off.

Pro, you don't think an athlete in lane 9 knows he has to run his rabbit off.
Yeah but your competitors will have the advantage of having a target to focus on and catch, while you won't!
Lane 9 is the blind man's lane which is only advantageous to those who are good at running scared!
Wishing the guys all the best tomorrow in the final but based on their present form and what the team is more accustomed to baton passing wise I would feel more confident with Bledman starting and RT anchoring! :beermug:

Dear TnT Athletes of the 2012 London Olympics,
Thank you for the dedication, success and inspiration you each demonstrated throughout these Olympics. You persevered in the face of adversity, in the spite of the deficits we face as a nation in promoting athletics, you remained true to our sense of national pride ( unlike some who chose other countries to compete for) . Your efforts have spurned an oasis of hope for teh next generation and for future athletic world competition. Unlike the football glory, let's build on the success at these games for 2016.
Thanks to each and every one of you for the cherished memories and for doing our nation proud.
A Trini abroad

I would like to pay special tribute to our ladies for their great efforts and would encourage them to hold up their heads up and keep up the hard work to reach and earn respect at the top of their sport despite the disappointment in the 4x100m relay final in which they were serious medal contenders.
I believe our women 4x100m relay are now firmly in the top 5 in the world and can only improvement with hard work and can soon be in the top 3 alongside USA and Jamaica hopefully in time for World Champs next year.
I would also like to see our 400m and 4x400m relay women earn firm spots in the top 16 in the world. It would be great to also see a T&T Women 4x400m relay team representing us at World Champs next year.
Keep up the good work ladies, win or lose we love you and support you for your efforts to get to the top of your sport.

Have to settle our nerves, the practicing of the 4x100 relays was well publicized. Need to learn how to stay calm and relaxed on the grandest of stages and then of course deliver
