Title: Trinidad Football Has No Future
Post by: coache on May 16, 2013, 09:54:31 PM
Trinidad Football has no future because we do not have a National Strategy.
Strategy in its most fundamental sense is nothing more than a plan of action that organizes efforts to achieve an objective.
Just as it is difficult to score a bull's-eye without a target, it is also difficult to devise a successful plan of action unless one knows the objective of that plan.
If the objectives are ill defined, inconsistent, or unsupported by some degree of national consensus, then the strategists function becomes exceedingly difficult.
Thus , all the strategists/coaches in Trinidad have no clear vision of the National objective.
The strategist/coach's first task is to able to define the national football objectives that form the foundation of the strategy process.

Boss with all due respect, did you really have to start another thread on something you have said before? Most people on this site saying the same thing for over a decade.  What you have written so beautifully should be placed in the newspaper not necessarily here on the forum, because you preaching to the converted.

No point lamenting if the ideal isn't an option, just go to the best available strategy.... simple...
Title: The Technical Director Has No Clear Objectives For The National Program
Post by: coache on May 17, 2013, 07:21:12 PM
None of the clubs in Trinidad have any idea of the philosophy of football required by the National Program.
What is the role of the Technical Director? Is it to go about the place looking at players all over the world in search of the most passionate players?
I have read a recent thread which compared the various coaching strategies in Trinidad, some were described as defensive, inconsistent, incoherent , slow..and whatever else.
This illustrates the problem is in the developmental process from the youth level.
The role of the Technical Director should be to come up with a system and a style of football for the National team, a philosophy of football, a Grand Strategy...National Team Objectives.
He should get coaches together through regular symposiums which he would help the coaches understand the National Team Objectives.
The coaches would then go back to their respective clubs better equipped to produce the right type of player to fit into the National framework.

Sometimes I wonder if peeps on this site  know the difficulties of trying to get anything done in T&T Football? Just getting local coaches
who think they know everything, together, is an effort in its self. Meeting start at 10 man rolling in 11:00 & that is those who show up.
The general football peoples don't want to hear anything, they already know football. You really think you telling them Primary school and
college coaches about playing one style or system. Worst the pro League. They can't even get people to follow the rules of the road  ;D Here nah when you being
critical, sit down with those who have practical experience in the matter first. Horner talking about Lincoln? How Lincoln could put anything
kind of development in place when he can't even find out what his budget it from year 1 to year 2. And when they do give you a figure, good
luck collecting. Not to mention the fact that people in T&TFF itself doing everything to undermine any attempts to move things forward.
