The Nigerians are fusing soca and everything else with their music now and marketing it as Afrobeats.
Very intelligent and progressive of them if you ask me.

Hopefully more of our soca artists can expand their minds and do similar with our groovy soca and island pop music but the main thing for us to do is to get out of focusing so much on the seasonal carnival topics and focus more on other topics that can be appreciated and identified with all year round by most folks.

I now seeing that there was a Nigerian Soca category in the Soca awards last year.
