During the Vibe CT 105 FM commentary of the T&T vs JA home game today which we won 2-0, Alvin Corneal stated that before last Friday 15th November 2013, T&T last beat Jamaica in Jamaica back in 1967 and not in 1949 as has been stated on here and in recent news reports since the game last Friday.
Can someone please look into this as we need to get our Men’s Senior football history correct so that we don’t spread false information as gospel?
Maybe someone can interview Alvin Corneal more about the matter and get more details to confirm if he is correct and if so then this information can be corrected/updated to our Soca Warriors Online database for the history of matches between T&T and Jamaica.

Well you would think that he would know what he's talking about since he was on the team at that time. But he should give details, where, when, score etc. Our info concerning 1967 is that we played Jamaica once in Jamaica and we drew 1-1.

Tallman is correct. There is only 1 official match for TNT VS JA in "67 1-1 in Kingston. There isn't any details or info on FIFA site about our supposed victory in 1949? It's unfortunate since their statistics is the only one that matters :/

Anyone willing and able to chase this up with Alvin Corneal?

Apparently he was a member of the T&T national senior squad during that era and would have played in the match in the Jamaica so he of all people should know.
Also note that with age sometimes long-term memory becomes much better than short-term memory. ;)

Alvin Corneal know everything and he eh know nothing.
What a f00cking blight to T&T, Anton must be shame ah this fool who write a bunch of nonesense and getting paid from de Guardian.

Start a fire Alvin Corneal thread now. This man is a cancer to T&T Football.
Spoke with Aleong it was 1-1 in 67
Alvin's negativity on Tuesday bordered on hate, I don't know what Hart do this man.
Neither do I understand what game he was watching. Talking about where is Latapy
and Nakid, those same players lost to Jamaica in the past. So what now?
One minute the team is benefiting from Antons U20, not the coaching of Hart. Next game, they is Journey men.
Boucaud can't play football Alvin! come nah man! Peltier, Cyrus, David, Guerra, J Jones
Gonzales, Caesar all play for Anton. So Anton was picking Journey men then.
If the present Nashys not up to scratch, the question becomes, who responsible for
raising the generation? Who is the TD for youth football in T&T.

What's the deal with this guy? He friend of Warner?

According to my records, last T&T victory over Jamaica in Jamaica was at Sabina Park on August 11th, 1953

Flex should check with Alvin to clarify but an informed source advised that Trinidad and Tobago did indeed draw with Jamaica1-1 with the goal scored by Warren Archibald with a forward line of 3 college players - De Leon, Archibald and Gally and Alvin. It was a CoNCACAF qualifying tournament played in Honduras. Haiti was another team in the competition and they qualified together with Trinidad and Tobago. As a little vignette the bus in which both Trinidad and Tobago and Haiti travelled after the game to the Hotel was stoned with a big rock by the Jamaicans bursting the windscreen. After that. Tournament 4 college boys including Steadman defender got contract for the North American Soccer League . In the year prior 1966 Trinidad and Tobago beat Jamaica 1-0 in Haiti in another tournament in which Gally scored the lone goal .
Also in 1969 T&T beat Jamaica 2-0 in Costa Rica with Goals by Buggy Haynes and Gally in another CONCACAF tournament.
