Title: Players heading on trials Thread
Post by: amwood on August 29, 2014, 09:39:43 PM
So heard today that two youths have secured an amazing opportunity to go to Barcelona and will be leaving shortly - Jabri Mitchel and another youngster...if this pans out, it represents a truly amazing opportunity. I'm sure we will hear a bit more about it very soon.

Training stint or not, wouldn't Barca have an interest in "keeping" (i.e. securing for Barca) any baller deemed worthy?

If they went, they made it..if they learn from it, they would make more..if they can pass on what they learned, then a few more might make in the future..if we shoot them down, then nobody going anywhere, cause we busy pulling trigger

It's the man's opinion based on what he has seen. Why is that bullshit?

It sounded hyperbolic at first, but I can't think of a better one, so  :beermug:

And good luck to Keston, and well done to Tony  :beermug:

Opportunity is opportunity. @ the baller: seize it, enjoy it, conquer.

Thx for sharing, Sherwood. :beermug:

It is bullshit because they have a different opinion. Small thing.  I hope youthman is successful.  I don't have time for negative Trinis.

Prior to Keston I would say Bateau was the best I have seen at the U20 level. Just my humble opinion.

Good Luck to Keston, this player is technically superb and with his attitude will get much, much better in the correct environment.

amwood.. just thought I'd mention. be careful with using copyright music on your videos. You could potentially get a strike from YT .. you'll loose channel and work in the process.

Jumbie, thanks for pointing that out. I think most of us are aware of copyright issue, but I was not thinking about it in this case.

Good luck to Keston.  I wonder what sort of preparation players undergo to show well at a trial such as this? How prepared are they?  I suspect it's not just about performing on the day, but also about diet, fitness level, mental preparedness etc.

On the topic of best youth defender in the last 10 years, my choice would be Robert Primus. Too bad with the injuries. He was special IMO. If Keston is anywhere near that level, he's one to look out for

Yeah Primus had lots of potential prior to the injuries.  I think those youth teams dating back to Under 17 in 2007 had very good defenders in Bateau, Primus and Akeem Adams (RIP).  Other guys such as Aubrey David and Mekeil Williams were solid over the years.  My biggest concern back then was goalkeeping which is still the biggest concern now in my opinion.
