it's amazing how trinis often set themselves up to be pissed on then turn around and trash the pissey for not being interested. this lad has already been capped for the under 15 do you really think he wants to play for Trinidad or what ever Caribbean nation he might be eligible to represent.

English kids no matter where their roots lie wants to represent the lions in the worst way, it's like being knighted it's such a huge honor. raheem sterling is a perfect example. rared in england yet does not want to see the country of origin in terms of football and this is what happens in england regularly and you can't blame them it's just the way it is in that country. final analysis this kid is never coming here so you could just forget that, and why would he? so don't even bother to dream, just move on before you get your feelings hurt again.

It depends on if they are  good enough to play at senior level ... eg raheem sterling....  there are  British players who have switched allegiance after representing at youth ...

you're joking right? my good man birchall and boucaud have never played on the highest level of English football and if they had the talent and the where withall to play for england not even a wheel barrow of gold could sway them away from wanting that huge honor of playing for the lions. that honor for an english lad is worth more than anything money could buy. Players like west morgan deon burton jobey mc annuf criss birchall mc clarey and boucaud will never get a call up from England so they jump ship to Beyoncé snap international baller, but make no mistakes if these guys were good enough to p,sy gif England they our have never given us a second glacnce just lie Zamora and bostock who eligible to play for Scotland.

So why should TTFA go after them anyway. If they good they will never look at TT. So just let them keep their aspirations for England or Scotland.  Just like Bobby.  England was constantly dangling a carrot in front his face yet not giving him a full international game. The invitation from TT was out their long enough for him. Just when it appears we were about qualify, it appeared that he seemed interested. Guys on the team(Stern John was quite vocal) objected. Big Magician was constantly running riot with the idea of him being included.  They can't have it both ways. Is either they committed or not. If they do not have the heart to deal with Trini, forget it. Our priority should always to develop local talent. But we should always, always, always welcome with open arms, daughters and son of TT if they are committed to the RWB(dysfunction et al)

It's not about what they "deserve". It's about what they can do at that level.

I think some of you all really don't quite understand just how much of a drop it is to play for the National Team coming from a professional environment. Remember, we are not an african country. The powerhouse in the region is the U S of A. That isn't considered a footballing nation by any stretch of the imagination by European countries. It's not about "willing" to deal with dysfunction etc. They may not be able to rationalise dysfunction.

Partner we love to try and rationalize insanity in this country

That is why we in the state that we in

TTFA probably don't even know how to host these players when they first arrive.

Why do we think that this is different from a club seeking a new player.

We literally have to roll out all the stops and make a convincing argument.

We have players with no realistic options internationally seeking to forgo international activity because of what we have to offer at the international level. That is very telling.

A lot of it has to do with image. I think the people that are representing the TTFA are not giving a good impression. They did fire a national coach at Ruby Tuesdays or was it TGIF? Steupss

We need to wake up to our deficiencies and work extremely hard to rectify them in the shortest time possible. We spinning too much top in mud.

Just saw England defeat Spain to win the u17 WC and the commentators said that there best player J Sancho was only allowed to play in the 1st 3 games by his club he scored 3 goals and 2 assist in those 3 games and from the clips I saw he is to good to play  for Trinidad we would just make him look bad he would reach his full potential playing for England.

El Pais has an article (https://elpais.com/deportes/2017/12/05/actualidad/1512502506_119197.html) running today exclusively dedicated to Jadon Sancho.

While the article is timely and topical because of the Real Madrid - Dortmund Champions League match (and the original interest of both clubs in acquiring his signature), it underscores how highly thought of Sancho is.

Some things mentioned:

* He has developed a good off-field bond with Aubameyang
* In adapting to the club, he also likes having another English-speaker in Pulisic around
* He chose Dortmund because of Dortmund's commitment of bringing young players into the First Team (Ousmane Dembele, Pulisic, Alexander Isak among them)
* Unlike other teams, Dortmund assured Sancho of a minimum number of First team appearances
* He didn't receive clearance to play in Germany until September 30
* He has amassed only 16 minutes with the First Team thus far ( 6' when he debuted vs Eintracht Frankfurt and 10' vs Bayern)
* His positive qualities (speedy, good dribbler, has vision, has an eye for goal)
* On the negative side he is described as being somewhat arrogant
* He won't feature in the Champions League fixture, but he was the only player brought in from the youth team for first squad training
* He'll play vs Real Madrid today, but for the Dortmund U19s vs Real Madrid U19s in the UEFA Youth League (match kicks off in 3.5 hours from time of posting).

I would say Sancho is both a bona fide Dortmund investment and still somewhat in the shop window depending on how he adjusts and shows in the Youth League and takes his opportunities when in the First team environment.

The kid is at the pinnacle of European football. It would take some seriously drastic changes in fortunes to see him dress in a T&T shirt or it would require an extraordinarily credible and gifted interlocutor acting on behalf of the TTFA. If he could walk away from Pep, he definitely doh have time for bullshit.

Just watched him live in a preseason friendly against Liverpool. He real composed and deadly on the ball, you could see how the Liverpool back line had to pay close attention to him. He was sharp with crisp touches on the ball, lots of intricate combination plays. He's in contention to see a lot of action this season with Dortmund.

On a personal level, my only hope has always been he Honors his parents, their birth place and their sacrifice. It's hard to give up your child at such an early age, especially as an immigrant, even if it's in their best interest. I have seen kids return home, not knowing their parents or family, even if they knew their faces. All the best, Jadon Sancho.

His name is creating quite the buzz these days and can be the biggest transfer this summer if it can be pulled off.
Not like this will ever happen but how exactly can he be eligible to represent T&T? Father? Mother? Both?
Also does he have any other siblings in football?

Since both his parents are Trini I have to root for him even more. I always liked his game tbh.
Didn't know he played in a competitive tournament for England but either way we never really had a chance of getting him but if he has a younger brother...

There is no proof of that. His father who has Guyanese roots was born in the UK. His mother is reportedly Jamaican.

The Bundesliga printed it, but Sancho himself did not say it. This ESPN article (https://www.espn.com/soccer/german-bundesliga/story/3947552/jadon-sancho-will-be-soccers-next-superstar-but-only-on-his-termsThis ESPN article) states "The first-generation son of a Guyanese father and a Jamaican mother, Sean, 45, grew up in Kennington." I have verified that his father Sean Sancho was indeed born in England. And I've read that his grandfather Merlin Sancho and great grandfather Cecil Sancho were Guyanese. Forget what I sad about his mother reportedly being Jamaican, I misread the sentence.

Well from a reputable sites...

The 17-year-old’s parents hail from Trinidad and Tobago but he grew up in south London, an area of the capital with a high crime rate and relatively few prospects for young adults. As such, Sancho made sure his footballing talent provided him with an escape route. (https://www.bundesliga.com/en/news/Bundesliga/introducing-jadon-sancho-borussia-dortmund-england-manchester-city-arsenal-458269.jsp)

He was born in London to parents from Trinidad and Tobago in March 2000. He joined Watford at 7 and moved to Manchester City in March 2015. Two years later, Man City chairman Kaldoon al-Mubarak included Sancho alongside Brahim Diaz and Phil Foden as one of three youth players who would be fast-tracked into the first team. (https://www.si.com/soccer/2018/10/12/jadon-sancho-england-borussia-dortmund-bundesliga)

Born in Camberwell, London to Trinidadian parents, Jadon Sancho's short career has already taken him all over England and Europe.  (https://www.givemesport.com/1587329-jadon-sancho-the-moments-that-define-manchester-uniteds-90m-interest)

Not a bad player but one of de most overrated young players out there. I wouldn't pay more than 30 million for him if I was a big club.

I'll pick Phil Foden, Kai Havertz, Alphonso Davies, Mason Mount, Pulisic, Ferran Torres, Ansu Fati, Vinicius, Haaland, Mason Greenwood, Eduardo Camavinga, Matthijs de Ligt, Sandro Tonali, Rodrygo is top youth players, Sancho not bad, but he overrated in my opinion.

Manchester have to be real assholes to pay over 100 mill for this player.

Manchester United have agreed a deal in principle with Borussia Dortmund to sign England international Jadon Sancho for an initial €85 million (£72.6 million).

United and Sancho will now finalise personal terms ahead of a medical to complete the move. Sancho is expected to sign a five-year contract until 2026.

Sancho, 21, is currently part of England’s squad at Euro 2020.

For me, Man Utd are doing a full Liverpool circa 90s-00s. Their recruitment is scattershot and their manager poor for the level required. I am a bit biased against Man Utd though, so I ain't saying I'm the fountain of all knowledge.
