Hart happy for Jones, Hyland CONCACAF nomination.
By Shaun Fuentes (TTFA).

Trinidad and Tobago head coach Stephen Hart expressed “surprise” about his nomination for the “Coach of the Year” award for 2015 but believes that the recognition given to team captain Kenwyne Jones and Khaleem Hyland is more deserving to the duo.

Also nominated for the Female “Goalkeeper of the Year” award was T&T Senior Women custodian Kimika Forbes.

“I think it’s great for both Kenwyne and Khaleem to be recognized. They have been two players who made a great contribution to the performances of the team in 2015 and they thoroughly deserve it,” Hart said.

“Kenwyne had been good leader and he has delivered for the team on the field. His goal which turned out to be the winner against Guatemala was an absolute stunner and he motivates and leads the team quite impressively.

Khaleem on the other hand has put in the hard work and his performances have been quite strong. The performances of these two and the performance on the team on a whole is what I think has contributed to my nomination which was quite a surprise for me,” Hart added.

Funny, Javier Hernandez didn't even play in the Gold Cup and half of Mexico's games last year and he made the list.

Layun and Bryan Ruiz !!!!

Oh well..

Hmm not surprised. We had to vote in large numbers for our players/coach to even stand a chance and that did not happen.

It's silly they went on votes from fans considering the Caribbean is a speck compared to US and Mexico.

Only winning the GC will change that. The exception to the rule were Leroy Deleon and Gally. But we have to win the cup for our players to get selected.

CR and Panama are Central American teams. CR has always played well in Concaf and has qualified for the WC on numerous occasions. They qualified for Olimpics. They have pedigree. Their name is out there all the time. Their players are GOOD. Panama has improved to the point where they have been to the GC finals once and to finals on 2 or 3 occasions. What is TT record. zilch. USA don't have to win. They and Mexico run things. And their record in the GC speaks for itself. We could not even beat Haiti to get in the Copa. We had 3 tries and we flunked.  At least our players got nominated.
